@@franziskawolfmayr20 Bob Ross would go through the same routine of cleaning his brush and always said "best the devil out of it" after smacking the bristles against the post of his easel. He'd also chuckle cheerfully after doing so

Hope they invite other famous painters to do a "Joy Painting Session" I remember back in college how stressful school and watching someone show how easy, simple and joyful painting is, it calmed me that whole day. Graduated still remembering that peaceful afternoon.

You can just tell that this gentleman cares about carrying on with bob’s awesome legacy, he does a good job.
Honestly this UA-cam channel is the best thing on this platform. After I graduated high school I took some of the money I got from my tax return and bought a bunch of painting supplies. After a few rough first paintings I finally got the hang of it and every summer since I've made a half dozen paintings. Its an amazing hobby, and after some practice its really not that difficult. I absolutely love it.

I only just now discovered that there were “new” Joy of Painting episodes with this new host. I didn’t think it could be done and admittedly clicked the link with my cynicism pre-loaded and began watching with my arms crossed, figuratively. But I quickly found myself mesmerized and blown away - not just by the painting (of course) but by Nic’s manner of speech and energy that fits beautifully within that unmistakeable Bob Ross spirit. Color me amazed!
I love how the instructor and Bob does one thing that never changes for me: you close your eyes one second, and next thing you know from the mess that was the blend of basic colors came one of the most accurate utopic illustration of nature ever.
I would like to see a certified instructor alongside a novice. Not to teach but for both to show their levels of achievement. There is not bad, just all happily learning together!
They couldn't have chosen a better person to carry on Bob's legacy. This guy gets it.
Always amazes how much detail and beauty you get in simple strokes of the brush and knife using this method, cranking something like that out in less than an hour is nuts

Youre not helping anyone with your comments, and Bob Ross definitely wouldnt condone your behavior. If youre trying to “honor his memory” youre doing a terrible job of it.

That grin as you started to say, "beat the devil outta it" just made my day. I remember hearing Bob saying that every time and it was always one of the things I remembered fondly. Really appreciate you keeping his dream alive. EDIT: 25:30 Gotta say, though, I thought those little peaks looked better bare, since they broke up the constant double-side snowcap of the rest of the mountain. EDIT 2: 46:50 They're called runs because the meaning of "run" as a verb is, "to move over a course." when referencing inanimate things like streams; it also references somewhere where something runs, as a noun. It's from this same etymological origin that we derive the concept of a "run of luck" and similar concepts that deal with intangible concepts that 'run'. Combine that with the fact that fish that migrate upstream to spawn are referred to as anadromous, a term that is derived from the Greek anadromos which means "running upward", and you get concepts like "salmon runs" created etymologically. :D

I was amazed to see that Bob Ross's work is being carried on. Believe it or not I was kid watching Bob Ross and now that I'm older I literally spent 150 bucks on Bob Ross supplies to get started, needless to say I didn't do very good, but maybe I should pick it back up

Oh man, yeah. Those were rare, but great. Knife sounds aside (I do love those knife-on-palette sounds), it's so cool to see what you can do even with just one tool.
