I love how Yanis walks in and assumes a Superman pose. LOL. Heavy rains help reveal weaknesses. Better now than later as others have pointed out. I’m totally enamored with the transformations!
Yanis is not scared of heights because he climbed Simon’s tree to rescue a drone. He made my heart skip a few beats. The floor and exposed granite floor is beautiful. ❤
It’ll look even more amazing in that hallway when you open that window back up! Yannis has such a fantastic attitude - always ready to jump in and get to work.
Goodness, leaks & water damage are never a fun surprise. But it’ll be great to have that cherry picker for a week! And glad you get another day of light work/rest; it’s easy to over-do it after being so sick.
Oh no…..glad you found that leak before you closed things up, Billy! Sorry you are having to deal with that when you still aren’t feeling 100%. Hope you took the day…and maybe tomorrow…to get some needed rest, Billy. It will pay off next week when you tackle the roof. Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
Watching you and Michael doing roof repairs in early Doing It Ourselves helped get me hooked on your channels. I am looking forward to next week's videos.
Billy needed extra rest and recovery time, I guess that’s what that leak meant for today. Always appreciate Yanis’ humor and comments. The gloomy weather shoes up how beautiful that kitchen is!
I recall Billy having picked a number of roof tiles up off the ground in the courtyard some weeks back. I have been waiting for him to get hopping on repairs before something like this happened. ='[.]'=
It’s snowing here on the Arizona/mexico border, raining in france. Winter weather will pretty much always reveal what is at the top of one’s emergency repair list.
Your ability to adapt without a fuss is remarkable. Turning roof repair (to the disappointing leak area) into additional tasks (ie. removing unnecessary attachments) with the cherry picker is so far thinking and clever. Also never the use of just the bare basics/inferior materials re outdoor/water resistant wood for studding and flooring.👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
Billy you did mention small area's of loose tiles when you first inspected the attic and the roof and with the storms over the last few years a few loose tiles are bound to come off . Please fix the roof as soon as possible before anymore damage is done to the library .
It's a real PIA when you go to do a job and are stymied by unforeseen circumstances. But the upside is better to know now than later. Yannis has acquired so much English, it is wonderful. Though I would love to hear the two of you speaking French!! Chuck in Northern New England
It is cold and snowing in the Midwest of USA on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is cold . I’m so glad you and team can adopt and found the leak.
Billy, I must say my hat's off to you in dealing with that leak. I would have driven myself nuts trying to hunt it down. Like you I wouldn't be bothered by anything that's gotten wet, and would have just cleaned up, but I not knowing exactly where the leak was coming in at would have bothered me until I found it.
Better to discover the leak now than later. Got similar issue with my chimney - think either flashing or pointing needs replacing -had lots of rain here in Sussex and had snow this afternoon. Wish you better Billy
Hi billy such a shame about the roof while your still trying to recover and don’t forget to rest you look as though you need to and really nice you have yanis to help you .💖
The weathers been the same here in Scotland although it’s been snow rather than rain the last week. Glad to see you’re looking fine, hopefully you’re almost over the flu.
Love the granite floors! Yanis is such fun! Not afraid to try anything or learn new things! He is an eager and appreciative worker! ❤❤ Makes for the workday to be enjoyable. More rest for Billy!
A pity about the leaking roof Billy - your Can Do attitude is what comes through in times like this. Look after yourself Billy and dear Yanis, you are a ray of sunshine in all weather 🥰🥰
Yay, sunshine returns to the convent. Unfortunate about the leaks but better to find and fix them now than later on. I hope you are feeling better Billy, you still sound congested. Crack on when able. 🇨🇦❤️
I'm actually surprised there have been so few roof issues to date. Seeing loose tiles here and there, and the wavy nature of the roof, doesn't inspire confidence.
Sorry about the leak and a wet library but at least it has happened before you have gotten to far into the decoration and finishing of the room. A much easier fix now for sure. Have a great day
Where is that beautiful old staircase in reference to the front door, the hallway, the kitchen, dining room & library? Sorry to see the leak but glad you like fixing the roof! Crack On!
Woow leaks are a pain .. glad you have a cherry picker coming ❤ Repair and replace what’s needed and yep then carry on 😕 It’s just a bit of a curve ball in the Reno 😢
Pay attention to the wind direction during that hard rain you had. That helped us figure out where our roof leak was licated. By the way, will you be inspecting and clearing out the outside drains in the courtyard to keep water flowing away from the convent?
The first upstairs room you showed where the water was coming down the beam and post looked like it had stains from previous water damage. The roof may have leaked there before, gotten patched and the repaired slate came off again in recent storms. I may be completely wrong, but that happened with the slate roof on my 1865 home in New York state.
Happy New Year! Hope you're feeling better Billy. So very sorry about the leak in the Library!!! Praying that it is an problem that can be fixed quickly and smoothly. Praying for you and Yanis as you work on this new adventure! Take care. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He show you His favor and have mercy upon you; and may He watch over you and give you His peace. Numbers 6:24-6.
I'm so sorry there is a leak somewhere in the roof. I presume tomorrow we will be getting all the things you might need for when the cherry picker arrives. Thank goodness you are going to get a bit of respite from the weather. Divine providence?? I truly hope so. Yanis is such a rock. 😀
Yanis is a cool dude!! Hello from Northern Idaho, USA!!! I'll be in australia in a week from now for a month. Getting out of my mild winter. Normally we have wicked winters here.
Johannesburg in South africa it has not stop raining since before Xmas which is not the way Xmas is. usually it is lvly & sunny, but humidity is very high
On the old staircase I just noticed what a slight incline it has and how low the rise on each step is. I wonder if it’s because people were shorter then.
maybe the next project is roofing. So pray its not to extensive, but a must to secure everything you are doing. Without that in place its waisted efforts if the rain is coming in. I would so love to see this old convent secured and restored and you are doing a beautiful job . I cant imagine its easy at all. Thank you, not just for the videos but for the restoration of history. Thank you.😊
So lucky to find this while the wall was open.
Well, better tackling a leak now than after plastering and decorating
Very true.
That is certainly looking on the bright side. Still a huge bummer.
I use a drone to inspect roofing when its leaking, you might do to. kind regards Erik
A fan will help evaporate the water & avoid mold
I am a big fan, but I won’t do that. 😂
Take care Billy you still sound abit congested. Wishing you a speedy full recovery.
Haha came in at 4:32 and thought Jannus was on the toilet.. we thought jeez.. can you give the man a break .. oh wait 😂😂😂
It’ll look even more amazing in that hallway when you open that window back up!
Yannis has such a fantastic attitude - always ready to jump in and get to work.
I love that kitchen.
Your heart just sinks when you find a leak, mansion or bungalow, it's heart wrenching, glad it was discovered...!
Glad you found the leak now!
Last thing you need when you are still ill. Hope it can be fixed relatively easily.
Leaks are always difficult to find as water tends to track away from where it’s dripping
You said "in rural france" and I thought of Ryan.. hope he is well
I surely miss Ryan. 😢
He doesn’t say it as well as Ryan 😅
Exact thought I had. I even had the way Ryan says it in my mind. We haven't heard from him for a while now. Not even showing up in any other channels.
Maybe went to see the wife
Rooooral Fronce!
Goodness, leaks & water damage are never a fun surprise. But it’ll be great to have that cherry picker for a week! And glad you get another day of light work/rest; it’s easy to over-do it after being so sick.

The stair case looks beautiful 👍🏼💪🏼👊🏼
Watching you and Michael doing roof repairs in early Doing It Ourselves helped get me hooked on your channels. I am looking forward to next week's videos.
Glad you discovered the leak now rather than later. Hope you can easily find and repair the leak. Looking forward to your next video, Billy!
Billy needed extra rest and recovery time, I guess that’s what that leak meant for today. Always appreciate Yanis’ humor and comments. The gloomy weather shoes up how beautiful that kitchen is!
Glad to hear that you’ll be having some sunshine for the roof work!
Wishing you some sunshine Billy!
I recall Billy having picked a number of roof tiles up off the ground in the courtyard some weeks back. I have been waiting for him to get hopping on repairs before something like this happened. ='[.]'=
Yep, was thinking the same thing.
Take care Billy, being out in the cold and wet when you been ill can be dicey. Rest when you can and try not to push too hard.
It’s snowing here on the Arizona/mexico border, raining in france. Winter weather will pretty much always reveal what is at the top of one’s emergency repair list.
Your ability to adapt without a fuss is remarkable.

Billy, Yanis, challenges, but positive outlooks and planning. Crack On! tomorrow!
Perfect tense music selection.
Yanis is fearless..wouldn't catch me on a cherrypicker
Aww so disappointing for you. Best of luck with repairs. Chin up!
Glad you caught that leak!!
Thankful u can get the cherry picker. A knew learning experience. Stay safe and warm 😊

Chuck in Northern New England
We have the same problem here in South Africa Billy. Non stop rain.
It is cold and snowing in the Midwest of USA on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is cold . I’m so glad you and team can adopt and found the leak.

I’m glad you discovered this leak before plastering was done. I have no doubt you will find other jobs to use the cherry picker for. 😍
Something in the air is making a lot of people sick..
Love the granite floors! Yanis is such fun! Not afraid to try anything or learn new things! He is an eager and appreciative worker! ❤❤ Makes for the workday to be enjoyable. More rest for Billy!
Water is one of those things that can be difficult to find the source of the problem isn't it? You'll sort it Billy.🤗🇬🇧
A pity about the leaking roof Billy - your Can Do attitude is what comes through in times like this. Look after yourself Billy and dear Yanis, you are a ray of sunshine in all weather 🥰🥰
My very first time seeing you, Billy, and this channel was you repairing a roof. I think it was on the convent, but it might have been the chateau.
Glad you found the leak, especially with the airconditioning going in soon and more electrical wiring.
Absolute faith that you and Yanis will not only find the leak but fix it aswell, nothing stops you Billy 👏🏻👏🏻😊
tHANK GOODNESS YOU CAUGHT IT EARLY ON! wow!
France sure seems to get a lot of rain through the year. Is the unusual ?
Sorry for the leak Billy, but no worries with you & Yanis on the job!
Oh no😢
Oh dear 😕 I hope the leak is easily fixed 😁
Something to look forward to next week!
Over the apartment what Sadie was fixing was leaking
Sandi and Stan had some issues with their Mucky Mansion because of the same bad storm. The wind was crazy.
Crack On!
That’s life.
Life is what happens while you are planning on doing something else.
Darn it Santa we told your reindeer not to land over the library
Woow leaks are a pain .. glad you have a cherry picker coming ❤
Repair and replace what’s needed and yep then carry on 😕
It’s just a bit of a curve ball in the Reno 😢
Go Yannis. You well be in your element Billy. Cheers to you both, pray for sunny days, no wind.
Are the gutters clogged again? Clean gutters with Cherry Picker.
So sorry to see this, it’s a bump but you’re the guy who can fix the problem!
Pay attention to the wind direction during that hard rain you had. That helped us figure out where our roof leak was licated.
By the way, will you be inspecting and clearing out the outside drains in the courtyard to keep water flowing away from the convent?
No rain here. Surrounded by inferno's in California 😢 Godspeed with taking care of the leak
That kitchen is amazing! I love when you show it in your video
Oh my goodness, so sorry for the leak! It is amazing how fast water can get in and how far it can travel. Hoping for a speedy and easy fix.
Thanks!
Excellent progress and episode! The room with the stone floor and staircase is already looking great! 😊❤👍 thank you all!
Be careful up there you two! 😮
Buckets. Yes. Roofer's friend.
Since you will have that Cherry Picker, maybe consider checking the roof above Sadie’s apartment?
The first upstairs room you showed where the water was coming down the beam and post looked like it had stains from previous water damage. The roof may have leaked there before, gotten patched and the repaired slate came off again in recent storms. I may be completely wrong, but that happened with the slate roof on my 1865 home in New York state.
Well there you go; you wanted to tidy up the roof 😂🎉
Hope you are feeling better soon 🎉
Hope it all will be fine, loved ❤ watching so many things happening 🎉🎉🎉
Lovely to see the beautiful old staircase with the granite floor, like looking at history.
Heights make me a bit nervous Please be careful next week! 😮
Shame about the leak Billy but I think you’ll benefit from finishing early. Hope you manage to rest and get better xxx💕💕💕
Thank you!

I really liked this video, amazing to see both château I didn’t realise how close they both are , the back garden also looks amazing,
Use a storage tub . It will cover a bigger area
And hold more water
have you looked on the roof with the camera on the drone?
So sorry Billy and Enus hope it's not major.Your sounding a lot better,Bilie
That's Yanis
Sorry Yanis still appreciate you
I'm so sorry there is a leak somewhere in the roof. I presume tomorrow we will be getting all the things you might need for when the cherry picker arrives. Thank goodness you are going to get a bit of respite from the weather. Divine providence?? I truly hope so. Yanis is such a rock. 😀
Oh, Noooo.... so sad.
I've seen you using Ryobi tools. They have a number lighting tools that work with their batteries, could be helpful around the convent.
You got this 👏👏👏👏👍
Yanis is a cool dude!! Hello from Northern Idaho, USA!!! I'll be in australia in a week from now for a month. Getting out of my mild winter. Normally we have wicked winters here.
Safe travels! It’s hot all over here right now.
Glad you were able to get a cherry picker so quickly!
So love Yanis ,he is so up for anything. So wish I could hire him for a week !! Well done Billy and Yanis x
Oh no what a bummer.
I’m sorry about that😢
Johannesburg in South africa it has not stop raining since before Xmas which is not the way Xmas is. usually it is lvly & sunny, but humidity is very high
New Zealand has been the same.
😢
roof repair is most important.
11:18 that room looks beautiful.
Love that stairway room transformation❤
As others have said at least you found it now and not when it was finished. Still it’s very 😩
On the old staircase I just noticed what a slight incline it has and how low the rise on each step is. I wonder if it’s because people were shorter then.
