I want to point out why AKI is number one in the poll, it’s not because she’s the most popular character, she’s definitely popular but let me explain. if you’re adhd tiktok brain you were probably mashing through the text and if you’re mashing through the text AKI is the first option, so you accidentally select her unable to change it, the reason why I know this is because it’s what happened to me and what I assume a lot of other people lol.
The best thing about Jellied Eels with Cammy is that she actually hates it, to the point where she implicitly throws it up whenever you give it to her. And yet she has to keep eating it for us to get those precious Master EXP levels.
So we got Homelander tomorrow, expect some first impressions on that, so far he's looking wacky going by the kombat kast lol. Im gonna try for not necessarily a sf6 beginner guide cause we already have that on the channel, but a "refresher" video if you will, essential tips for new & returning players or something like that, we will see how that goes. I don't think people realize how insanely smart world tour is. Casual non-fgc players who only know street fighter is a "Video game" got and played and even *enjoyed* world tour for *tens* of hours before they eventually ***got mad*** that they were tricked into playing a fighting game. Now these are the sillier vocal people. Dial back a bit and people who haven't played fighting games but see the appeal? Well they got a 20-30hr campaign to bite into, that surprisingly, teases you into learning how to play the basics of a fg. And thanks to the *equally* brilliant thing of modern? It being an option, but not a mandate? Brilliant. Modern players will comfortably be able to 'play'. Have basic combos but still have to learn how to do things like hit confirm and know when to just full send resources and when to pump the breaks. But if they push on they might see 'hey this guy is playing the same character as me but he has a button that I don't ' . and they can come and try classic control. they can hate it or they can stick with it for the granular control you get. Neither feels worse or better but rather you get trade-offs for most characters with it. For old-heads the tradeoff isn't worth. For someone who can't do a dp motion yet? and hey even some people who are looking at 1 button dps and going 'woah momma' ? modern is there waiting for you. And that's just that. Capcom hit all the right notes just right. Even if the first year was INFURIATING for some. (Hi, gief main here). It was still a fantastic fighting game at its core and that infuriation, I think you even said in the past, was specifically because it was just *so close* to being perfect and then it fell on its nose and didn't care to stop the bleeding until year 2 started. Absolutely infuriating but the balance patch has definitely smoothed over a lot of ruffled feathers. And bonus points pissed off ken players.
Yep. A few friends bought it for world tour, and are now playing ranked regularly. Rookie/bronze level, but they're enjoying themselves, and would never have even attempted it without the scaffolding that World Tour provided.
I've said it and I'll probably keep saying it for a long time: SF6's world tour is by far the best tutorial any fighting game has made ever. It's just brilliant
I think a big reason A.K.I. is in the lead is because she's the default option. People who don't care just mashing confirm will vote for her. You could put an irrelevant SF1 character like Mike or Joe or someone like Rufus as the starting option and they'll get a decent amount of votes. A.K.I. is a good character and deserves to come back but she's not entirely winning on her own. At least we know Capcom likes her and didn't put Adon first on the options list.
I've spent time with MK1 I've spent time with Tekken 8 But SF6 was the one that caught my attention. I've never liked SF either. Always preferred mk and tekken. But for the first time i like SF more

I'd played Street Fighter 6 like last year was the BESTEST fighting game has ever done! And now for Year 1, that was the greatest anniversary game EVER!🎉🎊✨🌟🔥 So! During I'd played Battle Hub, I'd got my voted ready for Season 2 characters like old and NEW DLC coming up this Friday to be announced!😁😁
The game is definitely my favourite fighting game ever and this is from someone who loves the classics too. This has the style and substance other 3D efforts were lacking (yeah even SF4) I think despite the valid and the pretty invalid criticisms people have of this game there's no denying it's on top of its competition and I think they deserve to be on top much more than the other two of the big three. Also AKI is cool and easily one of my favourite characters in fighting games now so if she's coming back in the future I'm down for it.
It has been a year and SF6 for me is still amazing, I still have not got into the story modes, the world tour or even the avatar battles, not because it is boring but just because I love the fighting ground setup, particularly for training and learning new characters. The game has been great, to be honest I am happy they took the slower route with the patches as it gives the game time to breathe and have a good look at what changes are needed. Good Job CAPCOM
I'm hopeful that now that everyone has an outfit 3, we can get some collaboration & seasonal costumes for some of the characters. Like, it doesn't have to be everyone all the time, but a few outfits for a few characters at a better pace would be nice. The game's already sold more than 4 million copies (you can tell from the number of players in ranked), so any DLC outfit at this point probably pays for itself and then some.
Aside from being an okay open world RPG type thing, I think the World Tour was also a fantastic long-term tutorial for people like me who were new to fighting games. Not only does it do a good job of teaching you the basics and how to keep your combat style varied, the interactions with various Masters also teach various important lessons like "Don't get too upset over defeats" and "Sometimes it's fun to just enjoy the match regardless of the outcome".
AKI's fav. item (the super 250 or so points one notwithstanding) is actually a Chinese fan, a unique drop from a character you need to fight against in her WT stage. the prepaid card is a generic gift everyone will accept for so-so points
It brings me SO MUCH JOY to see how many people are using modern controls. For all the strays it catches on Twitter, it’s an incredible accessibility option and myself (and many other players) wouldn’t have found the game without it!
I just missed the communication from the developers present near the end of SFV. You got all these detailed character breakdowns and stuff like that the way Mortal Kombat does it. Now all you get is a gameplay trailer. Also, though I know this one has the slimmest chance of happening, but I wish they would take into consideration how little we actually care about the avatars. Again I’m sure they have their audience and I’m not mad about them being there, but I will say that the time and money they spent making a $20 astronaut costume for what is basically just a method of getting from point A to point B could be spent on extra costumes for the characters that people actually know street fighter for.
That's not how game development works. Teams work on different things, the team that works on the avatar costumes doesn't work on the character costumes, they're not taking time or resources from each other as set budgets are given for different projects and if the team wasn't working on the avatars, they would be working on a different project.
the people who know street fighter aren't the people you need to impress. They're buying the game already. You have to cater to your casual audience. My guess is that's why world tour was added. that's why they have special battles and single player/cpu stuff. Most players arent grinding ranked

They found it appealing because the characters were cool and the music was sick and the graphics were nice. if guilty gear can pull itself from obscurity like that then street fighter shouldn’t have any problem. And this isn’t me taking a shot at all of the side content in street fighter. No that stuff is always good. More of that, please. My problem is them trying to turn it into Fortnite.

Also, we new a World Tour Mode where we embark on quests as Ryu, Ken, Luke, etc. I would also like to see some avatar customizations our mains. Capcom seriously needs do more for the actual characters this time around. They invested their focus on the avatars season 1, and it shows. Time to turn things around.
SF VI is the most I've even gotten into a fighting game seriously and I still REALLY like it, but I desperately need the content output to improve. I'm hoping that the content drought over year 1 was so that they could get their content pipeline figured out for the following years

Let me just say this as far with having dlc characters in the game they pretty much announced this with having each of the characters line up for different seasons - Rashid(summer 2023), AKI(autumn 2023), Ed(winter 2024) & Akuma(spring 2024). Add with the addition of new stages for the 2 (Ed & Akuma) and all the other stuff for them music themes, arcade mode illustrations & World tour, etc. Now I'm sure when season 2 begins hopefully there'll be more dlc characters at that time assuming 5 or 6 but get your hopes up if that even with more characters the spread of them releasing won't be just the same. And as for the outfits for the characters themselves I feel they heading towards giving each individual character outfits that mostly represent them as to just given random outfits for them that initially give them like they're the avatar characters. What I mean is for example giving Ken a DMC Dante skin like they did in SFV.

One thing about these polls, a lot of the time the top answer wins by default because a fair amount of players mash Confirm to just get to playing in the Battle Hub. I'm sure Aki is still fairly popular because she's a great character (I love her myself) but not many of the Hub polls have been won by an option that wasn't on top.

The playerbase has gotten cracked. I installed in october, finished wt and then learned modern lily. After 50 hours i made it to diamond around december. Took a break untill ed released. 220 hours in i have no other characters in diamond.. and when i play i notice how much better i am. My neutral and combos are.much better. I can tell i learn faster too, as i can pick up combo trials faster. Yet im hovering high plat on ed and aki lol. Its fun to see actually
I would be very excited for guest costumes, even if I hate the concept. It's good for business and attracting players, and in SF6 I don't have to look at them with the ability to disable opponent costumes.
Akira in the top 10 lets go I'm going to have to keep grinding in battle hub to keep her there. Lily's colour 10 is fire and I'm so happy we're getting Cap jams songs added in.
Not surprised by spinning bird kick being most popular move. It is charge one so it doesn't need to fight for its spot with other moves too much. And you get it super early and for long time in a game it doesn't have any competition really, since first masters all have qc and dp motions only. And it lets you go through gaps, so nice to have it on you even if you dont use it in battle.
I feel like the deceased character & costume rollout is due to the higher fidelity of both. The fact that they do different states of folding expressions for everyone’s clothes speaks volumes to the work that goes into even one costume, let alone a character.
That’s not an excuse because they literally have a ninja turtle jumping around doing shoryukens and blanka balls… it’s just they decided to prioritize the wrong thing. Costumes for the core characters would make them waaaaaay more money than avatar skins
I'm happy that they are not changing the balance constantly. That sucks for otber fighting games that change the balance like less than monthly. Let it set and give us a big one like in season pass. I really don't care about the content creation I just care about a fun game
Along with them getting rid of the fight coins, I really hope is that all of this WT+BH avatar customization is paving the road to be able to customize in Fighting Ground.
I have to say as much as I think they should do more costumes, I do like the higher quality standard of the costumes in SF6 and think many of the more "out there" costumes in SF5 were pretty bad.
Glad you brought up Capcom completely ignoring their core audience, all they want are characters and costumes… sf6 made a big boo boo ignoring this, that would have been tons of money in their pocket, especially with the holiday costumes you mentioned. To be real, I'm happy there weren't any crossover costumes available for the main roster. I know immersion is a subjective thing, but one of the things I like about fighting games over other genres, is that their aesthetics remain(relatively) in-universe. Crossovers are a good way to lose the visual identity of a game.
One thing I'd like to see with Year 2 is bundles for costumes so that you don't have to overspend on Fighter Coins just to buy all of them. For example, a bundle to buy all the costumes in a Resident Evil collab instead of buying them individually, I think would be good.

I overall agree, and while my opinion is gonna be different from a lot of people's I still feel like there's a very good reason (for better or worse) for the lack of content. Mostly that they didn't want to have a repeat of SFV launch and patch cycles. My roommate told me about it and it sounded awful (I remember watching Nash roll over everyone then get nerfed into the ground). While I think 1 year was too much, 6 months would have been much better, I get why they were probably approaching this game the way they did. They clearly had something very special on their hands, it's stupidly popular and it got me into fighting games. I fully believe they were worried about screwing the game out the gate and fumbling HARD. Right or wrong, that's my take on it at least from what I know about SFV and before. As for the costumes I agree, but I also feel like they internally set a rule that they have to be like, super detailed so they can't be cranked out like SFV costumes. I'd be down with less stellar detail outfits for cheaper and keep the stuff like costume 3 for a once every 6 months/1 year cycle. Best of both worlds imo.
i bought SF6 and was super excited for it, 1st fighting game ever - used modern controls, played cammy, beat some combo challenges but never started world tour. Eventually dropped for T8. I watched a lore video on SF and it killed my enjoyment. also the music is horrendous. i really wanna like SF but i dunno. something is off. i think when i was doing a 5 step combo challenge i kept missing the 4th step and i tried for 5 days straight and couldn't land it. i had to jump up forward kick and the ps5 controller would not allow upforward kick just up or forward
I'm pretty confident that AKI isn't the most voted character for being the most popular (that's Sakura, in 2nd place). Don't get me wrong, AKI is super cool, but I believe she is in first because she gets a massive "boost" for being the first option in the list. A significant amount of people don't care for the quiz/results and just want to farm those tickets.
This game has a massive problem for me and it's that to this very day I can't find matches frequently. Even with my matchmaking set to worldwide I still wait for so long I end up having to just leave and play another game and this game has more players than Gran Blue where I can actually find matches. I couldn't play enough to make it to Masters as a result as it just takes too long to find matches and it got severe when I made it to diamond especially within the first couple months
Seeing zeku at 68 has ruined my week wow wtf the master of bushinryu seeing him that low is so disrespectful i blame angry bird he dropped the character so quickly in SF5 or maybe it was big bird it was one of them lol.He could be very good in SF6 retooled and better than ever.

It brings me SO MUCH JOY to see how many people are using modern controls. For all the strays it catches on Twitter, it’s an incredible accessibility option and myself (and many other players) wouldn’t have found the game without it!

I just missed the communication from the developers present near the end of SFV. You got all these detailed character breakdowns and stuff like that the way Mortal Kombat does it. Now all you get is a gameplay trailer. Also, though I know this one has the slimmest chance of happening, but I wish they would take into consideration how little we actually care about the avatars. Again I’m sure they have their audience and I’m not mad about them being there, but I will say that the time and money they spent making a $20 astronaut costume for what is basically just a method of getting from point A to point B could be spent on extra costumes for the characters that people actually know street fighter for.
That's not how game development works. Teams work on different things, the team that works on the avatar costumes doesn't work on the character costumes, they're not taking time or resources from each other as set budgets are given for different projects and if the team wasn't working on the avatars, they would be working on a different project.
the people who know street fighter aren't the people you need to impress. They're buying the game already. You have to cater to your casual audience. My guess is that's why world tour was added. that's why they have special battles and single player/cpu stuff. Most players arent grinding ranked
@@krissmith9814 on one hand I get where you’re coming from, but on the other hand half the people who place strive probably did not know that guilty gear exists before they picked that game up. They found it appealing because the characters were cool and the music was sick and the graphics were nice. if guilty gear can pull itself from obscurity like that then street fighter shouldn’t have any problem. And this isn’t me taking a shot at all of the side content in street fighter. No that stuff is always good. More of that, please. My problem is them trying to turn it into Fortnite.

Also, we new a World Tour Mode where we embark on quests as Ryu, Ken, Luke, etc. I would also like to see some avatar customizations our mains. Capcom seriously needs do more for the actual characters this time around. They invested their focus on the avatars season 1, and it shows. Time to turn things around.

SF VI is the most I've even gotten into a fighting game seriously and I still REALLY like it, but I desperately need the content output to improve. I'm hoping that the content drought over year 1 was so that they could get their content pipeline figured out for the following years

Let me just say this as far with having dlc characters in the game they pretty much announced this with having each of the characters line up for different seasons - Rashid(summer 2023), AKI(autumn 2023), Ed(winter 2024) & Akuma(spring 2024). Add with the addition of new stages for the 2 (Ed & Akuma) and all the other stuff for them music themes, arcade mode illustrations & World tour, etc. Now I'm sure when season 2 begins hopefully there'll be more dlc characters at that time assuming 5 or 6 but get your hopes up if that even with more characters the spread of them releasing won't be just the same.
And as for the outfits for the characters themselves I feel they heading towards giving each individual character outfits that mostly represent them as to just given random outfits for them that initially give them like they're the avatar characters. What I mean is for example giving Ken a DMC Dante skin like they did in SFV.

@@Just_Manny305 On which one the outfits or the dlc characters cause statistically speaking I'm not wrong and how else would you explained it. The avatar skins aren't given also the 3rd outfit skins like the main roster and are more detailed crafted for them specifically.

One thing about these polls, a lot of the time the top answer wins by default because a fair amount of players mash Confirm to just get to playing in the Battle Hub. I'm sure Aki is still fairly popular because she's a great character (I love her myself) but not many of the Hub polls have been won by an option that wasn't on top.

well loose definition for fighter, but I guess Karate champ back in like 87 or so? I did play SF1 in 88 or 89 or whatever it was, and I thought the game sucked real bad lol. Obviously though SF2 was the life changing moment in 91
The playerbase has gotten cracked. I installed in october, finished wt and then learned modern lily. After 50 hours i made it to diamond around december. Took a break untill ed released. 220 hours in i have no other characters in diamond.. and when i play i notice how much better i am. My neutral and combos are.much better. I can tell i learn faster too, as i can pick up combo trials faster. Yet im hovering high plat on ed and aki lol.

Loved Giant Attack. It was like a world boss mode of other games. I want that as a permanent feature to get more drive tickets.
I would be very excited for guest costumes, even if I hate the concept. It's good for business and attracting players, and in SF6 I don't have to look at them with the ability to disable opponent costumes.

Not surprised by spinning bird kick being most popular move. It is charge one so it doesn't need to fight for its spot with other moves too much. And you get it super early and for long time in a game it doesn't have any competition really, since first masters all have qc and dp motions only. And it lets you go through gaps, so nice to have it on you even if you dont use it in battle.
I feel like the deceased character & costume rollout is due to the higher fidelity of both. The fact that they do different states of folding expressions for everyone’s clothes speaks volumes to the work that goes into even one costume, let alone a character.
That’s not an excuse because they literally have a ninja turtle jumping around doing shoryukens and blanka balls… it’s just they decided to prioritize the wrong thing. Costumes for the core characters would make them waaaaaay more money than avatar skins

I'm happy that they are not changing the balance constantly. That sucks for otber fighting games that change the balance like less than monthly. Let it set and give us a big one like in season pass. I really don't care about the content creation I just care about a fun game

I have to say as much as I think they should do more costumes, I do like the higher quality standard of the costumes in SF6 and think many of the more "out there" costumes in SF5 were pretty bad.

I know immersion is a subjective thing, but one of the things I like about fighting games over other genres, is that their aesthetics remain(relatively) in-universe. Crossovers are a good way to lose the visual identity of a game.

One thing I'd like to see with Year 2 is bundles for costumes so that you don't have to overspend on Fighter Coins just to buy all of them. For example, a bundle to buy all the costumes in a Resident Evil collab instead of buying them individually, I think would be good.

I overall agree, and while my opinion is gonna be different from a lot of people's I still feel like there's a very good reason (for better or worse) for the lack of content. Mostly that they didn't want to have a repeat of SFV launch and patch cycles. My roommate told me about it and it sounded awful (I remember watching Nash roll over everyone then get nerfed into the ground). While I think 1 year was too much, 6 months would have been much better, I get why they were probably approaching this game the way they did.
They clearly had something very special on their hands, it's stupidly popular and it got me into fighting games. I fully believe they were worried about screwing the game out the gate and fumbling HARD. Right or wrong, that's my take on it at least from what I know about SFV and before.
As for the costumes I agree, but I also feel like they internally set a rule that they have to be like, super detailed so they can't be cranked out like SFV costumes. I'd be down with less stellar detail outfits for cheaper and keep the stuff like costume 3 for a once every 6 months/1 year cycle. Best of both worlds imo.

i bought SF6 and was super excited for it, 1st fighting game ever - used modern controls, played cammy, beat some combo challenges but never started world tour. Eventually dropped for T8. I watched a lore video on SF and it killed my enjoyment. also the music is horrendous. i really wanna like SF but i dunno. something is off. i think when i was doing a 5 step combo challenge i kept missing the 4th step and i tried for 5 days straight and couldn't land it. i had to jump up forward kick and the ps5 controller would not allow upforward kick just up or forward

I'm pretty confident that AKI isn't the most voted character for being the most popular (that's Sakura, in 2nd place). Don't get me wrong, AKI is super cool, but I believe she is in first because she gets a massive "boost" for being the first option in the list. A significant amount of people don't care for the quiz/results and just want to farm those tickets.
Though as an unintended consequence, AKI's likelihood to be in the next Vs. Capcom will skyrocket if this keeps up.

This game has a massive problem for me and it's that to this very day I can't find matches frequently. Even with my matchmaking set to worldwide I still wait for so long I end up having to just leave and play another game and this game has more players than Gran Blue where I can actually find matches. I couldn't play enough to make it to Masters as a result as it just takes too long to find matches and it got severe when I made it to diamond especially within the first couple months
Seeing zeku at 68 has ruined my week wow wtf the master of bushinryu seeing him that low is so disrespectful i blame angry bird he dropped the character so quickly in SF5 or maybe it was big bird it was one of them lol.He could be very good in SF6 retooled and better than ever.
