I haven't played TOME in months, yet your videos still get me interested again every time. lovely breakdown, lovely ideas, lovely voice. 10/10 content.
It's kinda interesting how usefull that ogre ability ended up being. Back then i suggested it to darkgod, i mostly thought about it as a fun liittle sun paladin option, with some silly interactions here and there. Idea came from dnd "Monkey grip" feat btw, this is why it has this "reduce penalty per size category" clause. Still can't belive he actually just straight up added it. Well, almost straight up. I wanted it to be a strength prodigy (mostly so i can have a Yeek run around with 3 giant hammers), but then it became a problem of adding another row of them or removing one of the old ones, so it became this weird ogre exclusive thing instead.
Drybe I’ve been watching your videos daily for the past few weeks, and thanks to your help I finally got my first rougelike win with an antimagic cornac berserker on normal difficulty! I know you haven’t made a berserker class overview (yet?) but I applied all the knowledge I gleaned from your other videos that seemed generally useful, and that definitely helped me win. Now I’m looking forward to trying out a more complex class :) Going to start watching this now; thanks again!
At a certain point you become not just unstoppable, but can become half pokemon-collecting, half multi-speccing artist of destruction. Love this class!
Bulwark got savaged by a rand boss right after killing Urkis :( Just about to start a new character and I've wanted to play possessor for a while so this was just in time!
Well, this class is insanely strong, after horrible t1 zones i facerolled dark crypt on insane. Finding loremaster escort and taking mind sear helps a lot in early game.
Indeed, this class is unbelievably OP on higher difficulties. I've cleared pre-nerf madness with it without much trouble. Also my favorite body is Slaslul or what's the name of that naga/elf from underwater dungeon in the east - high base speed, and built in prodigies among other things are just too good to pass on. There was (no longer works) this tech for insane/madness where you go into the shadow cave in your best body, let the boss copy you, and then posses your copied body juiced up through the roof by difficulty scaling. Also, the bonuses from equipped gear transferred to the body too. Just imagine having "I can carry the world" prodigy at level 9, which is 450 strength stat boost. After all said and done it was absurd - over 900 strength, 12 prodigies, 170% phys pen, 130% phys damage, 260% crit multi, 161% global speed, almost 14k hp, 226 phys power, 154 mind power, 2300 main hand tooltip damage (yes, that big, but it was before weapon mastery/damage formula rework).
It would be cool if you could make a beginners guide in your style of video. I am pretty new and I am pretty overwhelmed by what is important and what is not, where dangerous areas are, what bosses are dangerous etc.
This is the playlist with all my general guide type videos so far: ua-cam.com/play/PLIx59FiyDtHLxYOKWSuC8CN4nlpTXSe_N.html The Insane Difficulty Survival Guide has tips, that should be helpful even for lower difficulties. The Itemization video I think is the most helpful for new players, it will save you a lot of deaths. There's also this post: www.reddit.com/r/ToME4/comments/tzd8r4/general_mechanics_reference_guide/ that explains the basic mechanics of the game. And you can use this (I still do): te4.org/wiki/Recommended_Zone_Order_Progression to get a rough idea about which dungeons you should do. It's definitely a ton of information to navigate at first, if you have any questions, people in the global chat will usually help, or you can ask in the comments here.
Thanks man. Will have to try it out. Do you know when the update will (or if) come out? te4 announced it more than a year ago, rolled out partially in prep for the big roll out and had a bug with storage, a quick fix a day later, then nothing for over a year.
DarkGod is still working on the Lost Lands expansion, he's more active on the Discord server than social media from what I can gather. Lost Lands will likely be around the size of EoR if not larger so I expect it to take a while longer. The last thing I remember him saying on Discord was that he was having some health issues and was getting back into developing it.
Hawkent summed it up. Could be tomorrow, could be in a year, could be never. I'm confident it will be worth the wait, if it comes out, the teases for the new classes/races sound awesome - te4.org/blogs/darkgod/2023/02/news/lost-land-beta-soon-next-dlc-already-works-what-hell-darkgod
Have you thought of trying a few madness runs with possessor? They seem like the most viable class to clear madness since you can use the super OP enemies against them
It's definitely one of the classes I would try first, but I don't feel like playing Madness for now. Insane feels like the sweet spot for how tanky/dangerous enemies are and I still have more classes to explore.
Thank you for making q possessor guide! I loved playing TW and I ve always been itching to try a psy class at least once. How viable is this class with cornac race in madness mode?
Nice guide as always, I'm sorry for asking stupid question, what is your monitor resolution you are using? and in game resolution you are using?, i'm trying to configure the resolution in game and the grid option/? on game to have same view like yours layout but didnt feel same as yours, like you have more large area grid with still visible hp bar, more text visible without scroll moving text/? in game information e.g in skill
I'm using 1920x1080. I think most my settings are default: i.imgur.com/JDj0GYT.png and i.imgur.com/0IOTXUN.png Difference in text could be because of addons I use. Thanks, happy to hear that
Woo hoo! Love your content, I've gotten so much better at the game because of you and your comment section.

having it as a prodigy would be a really cool idea.
Wow! I did not expect a possessor guide! nice, thank you!
New Drybe video dropped 🔥🔥 Would love a Writhing One or Doombringer guide
Drybe, you are awesome. Keeping the much needed build tutorials up to date for the casuals.
just started playing after sinking hundreds of hours into dcss... really appreciate the the explanations!

That's awesome to hear, having more people progress and enjoy the game was my main motivation to make videos.

Love your videos keep up the good work!
BABE WAKE UP NEW DRYBE VIDEO DROPPED

Also the only class to be locked behind donator far as I understand it (used to be Stone Warden)

That does sound pretty strong.
Got to name my possessor Ash Ketchum
