Lee Tracy at almost 50 yo. Not quite the rapid fire dialogue as he once was. Great to see him again.

How come the villain in a film noir always kills people like they were ducks in a shooting gallery but only knocks the hero-detective over the head? Oh well, fun movie even if the plot has more holes than a brick of Swiss cheese. Lee Tracy is one of my favorite character actors. Sarcastic repartee became art coming out of his mug.

Don Castle deserved to go so much farther than he did. He had also been a screenwriter
and a producer. But his career was interrupted by being drafted into WW II; and when he
he reentered the motion picture industry, it was cut-off, because he overdosed (on an
undisclosed) medication. He died at the age of 48 years and 8 months. He is probably
best remembered for Roses Are Red -- which released one year before High Tide.

Good movie. I didn't recognize anyone in it. Good story and acting. Directing wasn't bad but the night scenes were difficult to follow.

This is different but somewhat similar to another great movie with Barbara Stanwyck(Jeopardy) where her husband is stuck under a pillar or something by the ocean and she tries to get help eventually from a criminal.

Now if only someone could share the brilliant noir Decoy 1946 starring Jean Gillie as the most ruthless woman to ever lead a gang.

Jesus Jennifer.....it took about forty-three minutes into this muddle to even begin to get noir-esque.....Regis has too much narrative and there is too little intrigue...Anabel Shaw (Dana Jones) has the shoulder pads of an NFL lineman....the interiors are cheap and sloppy...and so, in my opinion....this is the "baseline" of film noir...the bottom at one and all others being judged from this.

    Can you put up
    “Follow Me Quietly “(1949)?
Can’t find it anywhere for free-and really seems like the kind of gritty very rare B style hour long Noir you would put up. Thanks for the ones you have put up on the Tube anyhow they are much appreciated man
