Excellent the entire movie/ actors and producers are thoroughly enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining. Thankfully from a ardent B & W movie enthusiastic 👍👍👍😘
Just finished chapter 1... Really enjoying it! Except for the good guy's brother, all the other fellas were dressed and fitted well. Doesn't look out of place even today. Another thing that got my attention was the actress playing the sister - had to look a few times to be sure, but initially thought she was Martha Hyer (sp). A lovely woman whoever the actress is. Thanks again Looking forward to seeing more. Will be perfect for Sunday brunch time viewing. Comment for the UA-cam algorithm!
A copy...which is illegal. Either return it and get your $$$ back or just toss it. Don't sell it. The purchaser can point the finger at you.. The studios really have the government on speed dial to go after sellers of illegal copies.
I knew an old lady 👵🏻 in 1965 and several years later named Lucy Walden. We all simply called her Aunt Lucy and she always wore the same little hat. Her son was one of our ministers. He was very dear to us. 😊😊
Yeah, these movies are basically all that I watch. I don't like the Gen Z zombie apocalypse sharknado nonsense. Basically I'm paying for streaming services that I don't even use because I can't tear myself away from these old movies.
I personally believe several parts of this serial were taken and used in the 2003 film, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, namely the Mysterious Mister M, his delivering messages by record, and talk of ocean liner sized, super fast submarines. I might be missing a few elements.
Reminds me of going to the movies as a child when there was a cartoon, news reels, previews of coming attractions, the short subject such as this serial and finally the main attraction. It all must have taken three hours or so and all for a quarter! It seemed like we were in the theater forever.
Love these B+W flicks. All the scrapping scenes are so planned , like Batman earlies !. Without the zap, biff and ouch titles. Mock fighting, very skillfull. And all made in a Bryllcream factory?. Thanks all. Dave
Pity the kids from rural towns who came down to the city to see a feature and this was included on the triple bill: unlikely to get someone to drive you down, every week, to see all 13 episodes.
So this was the last serial produced by Universal, as noted. That may help explain the ending. I've watched this s few times, very enjoyable and well made, but the ending seems very abrupt. The gangster Schreck (Jack Ingram) gets bumped off and all we get is a cop saying they fished him out of the water, the lab tech gets bumped off but we don't see it. The Lawyer Mr M just 'appears' on the sub for a quick moment and boom they blow up. All so quick. Its like they decide to wrap up the serial and shoved 3 episodes into one.
I have been watching serials for a while now and noticed the strange phenomenon of the hats that never fall off. I was thinking maybe it was because the guys would otherwise have to recover their hats before they ran away. I like your explanation better.
That's before my time, when you could fill a bag with 10 pieces of penny candy for that dime... but it wasn't a very big bag, and it's true we paid more for a under 12 ticket than a quarter, more like $1.50 matinee shows in the 70s if I'm remembering correctly.
2 commercials within 5 minutes!!! I thought I could use it to help me ease off to sleep, then stunningly, loud commercials blast out of no nowhere. my goodness
Great Serial! I have to be honest I kind of knew who the real Mr. M was before the big reveal after listening to all those whipery records I figured out who the voice was.
Good old hokum, with good old Byron Foulger, and Richard Martin playing the young cop, who was Chito Rafferty, Irish/Mexican sidekick in westerns to (among others) a very young Robert Mitchum.
"Hypnotrine"....(hypnotrene - alternate spelling).....I seem to recall taking that when I was in college....maybe during a spring break.....it's kind of hard to remember the details. Sure wish I had a couple of hits now.🎇
i enjoyed it but towards the end i got a bit fed up of them going into every situation alone or with a woman tagging along who wasn't even with the police. just take another 40 cops as back up and the series would have been wrapped up at least 4 episodes sooner.
Great serial with excellent video and audio! Thanks for posting..

Excellent serial. The same formula as all the other serials and very entertaining. I've watched it a few times.
Cyril Delavanti! Cool!!

Love these old serials!
Fabulously like 🤸 thanks for sharing,I enjoyed the 1st episode I just had to see the 2nd,,thanks and hope to see the 3rd soon.🤸
Thanks 🏄
Only 3 chapters were initially released. UI wanted to be a high class studio and withdrew it theatrically.
Darn, first episode got me hooked.
Thanks! Nice quality.
FANTASTIC BLACK AND WHITE SERIALS I ABSOLUTELY ENJOY THESE ALOT

Thank you so much! Check out my serial play list. I have over 50 serials there.
Ever notice how EVERYBODY drives nice cars in these old films? That's better than we can do today.
yep
Bless you! The only other copy available online has a drifting soundtrack!

Very "stylish". A nice depiction of the 1940s. I liked it a lot.
WOW WHAT FANTASTIC AND REALISTIC FIST FIGHTS THEY HAVE GOING IN THIS SERIES.
Loved it, good series ❤💯👏
This is awesome, thank you.

This was great!!! Paranoia can be induced psychologically, chemically, and surgically. Just like today.
Don't forget politically.
Yeah, the Republicans are proof positive of that.
Marlene, that's very insightful of you. Most people today haven't a clue.

I'm a huge Joseph Crehan fan! But who isn't. Thanks for sharing!

Don't forget the second feature!
The suspense was intense !

The Creeper and Holmes and Watson making cameos in the opening credits!
Perry White, too! Great Caesar's Ghost!!
Thank you!!!
Seen playing you climbing as possible centryity i gald
Dr. Kittredge is played by John Hamilton who later played Perry White in The Adventures of Superman
Chapter 2 cliffhanger is from the 1932 Paramount feature The Devil is Driving.
Thank you. 📽️
The film quality is astounding. Cleaned up?

Great Caesar’s Ghost! The chief from Superman didn’t have a big part in this serial. He died in the first few minutes..
During the fights hats don't fall off
thats to hide the stunts men !
I have been watching serials for a while now and noticed the strange phenomenon of the hats that never fall off. I was thinking maybe it was because the guys would otherwise have to recover their hats before they ran away. I like your explanation better.
Good night Mr welbley
Great series
Going to the movies 25 cents couldn't wait for the next chapter to come on..For a dime you got a Big bag of Penny candy 😊😊

Excellent
You are grated
Very welcome fast pacing
great‼️‼️
I guess they didn't have circuit breakers at the Nord plant.
Judging from the shadow at the start of each chapter one would think that "Mr. M" is Rondo Hatton
I was thinking the same thing. They had a "Creeper" double feature the other day.
That shadow was my ex-wife.

Naww, he wasn't that cute.

I manually place commercials between the episodes. Unfortunately UA-cam tends to come along afterwards and add more of them without telling me.

Seems to be better production quality when compared to Republic, Columbia and Monogram.
So many UA-cam movies are so bleary they're unwatchable. But this cheap serial, this is sharp. 🙄
Yes sir thật tốt and service country thank you this big house the end there is a houseing

I paid for a copy of this serial on DVD and it is nowhere near as good a quality as this.
After a horrible war, all the country wanted was good ole goofy fun, incl. their movies😊
Enjoyable, but frustrating how naive that Grant guy was don’t remember his last name?). 😂
You did just right not giving him to chance
chapter 5's cliffhanger was taken from The Phantom Creeps
