I am so happy to have found the recipe for this. Me Nan used to make this in the winter. I miss it, but miss her more. This is exactly like she made it with the traditional tatties. Will make this for Christmas week. Thank you. Yee Haw from the Great State of Texas.
I love your recipes!! I'm making this for the third time tonight! We are celebrating a belated Burns Night dinner. Thank you for the recipe for the bread I'm going to look it up now. Can't wait to try all of your recipes!
So pleased you're enjoying them. Hopefully we'll get filming again soon. In case you missed it here's a belated Burns Supper offering for you. Hope you enjoyed your meal. ua-cam.com/video/v0UBBkz6Tb4/v-deo.html
Yeah I would use potatoes instead of rice 😊. I’ve just started going to Lidi for my food shopping & OMG!! I wish I knew about it before hand. I’ve always thought the food was foreign muck they were selling until I noticed it was Scottish & British products alongside some foreign alien food lol. My weekly shop used to be £140 and that’s just me! Now it’s £42 😊 something doesn’t add up tho lol.
It certainly makes a massive difference to your shopping bill. I love the variety of food on offer and their fruit and veg regularly win awards. As always thanks for watching. H
I like it and I went with Rice and tatties on your recipe Hen, best of both worlds. I am a mongrel for Crusty bread and Lurpack butter for dunkers..........Good stuff Helen.
Rice and tatties not sure if that makes you a heathen decadent or both 😄. A bit like me then.....experimenting is the way to go, hope you enjoyed it. H
@@TheOrkneyNews I loved it Hen and my name is McGregor and my race is Royal........Heathens, Vagabonds and thieves.............Thats my ugly Family tree hahahahahaha, but not to detract from your wonderful Channel and excel cooking, glad u got back in touch .
Hi Helen !.. I am your namesake from Russia ... I have an unusual question for you !..what used scottish people traditionaly as snack to whiskey ?.. other than well-knoun like the bacon cheese and so on ?.. what kind of Hot Dish ?.. ( methods of your Cooking is so interesting for me 😊!! )
Pretzels are good as the smokiness should compliment the whisky but really just whatever snacks you would usually have. Often whisky is given the title of a nightcap as it gets drank by some directly before going to bed so snacks are less likely then. It is also drank along with haggis and stovies as a main meal, but trial and error would be my best advice. Thank you for the question, I hope my answer helps. H
I don’t WANT cockaleekie, I don’t LIKE cockaleekie. I like CRESS!
