My stance is, if developers WANT to include difficulty options (or, From Software including an Easy mode for Elden Ring), then let them do so; I have no issue with it. But I think that people need to stop crying FOR an Easy Mode if the developer did NOT include it, because every developer SHOULD have the freedom to design their game exactly how they want. So, "should" Elden Ring have an easy mode? Not if the developer doesn't want it in there, no.
Single difficulty creates a sense of community. If someone beat X you can relate because you also beat X, that is pivotal reason why dark souls community is so vibrant
@@CommunicationErrorPodcast no it does not. Community is bound on the sense of exclusivity. Some people belong and others do not. Community that does not have a buy-in is worthless by definiton, it simply is meaningless. A club that accepts everyone has no community bond. It is kind of Rattatouile situation: not everyone is a great cheff but great cheff can be anyone. Every group that has a buy-in is valued more. one of the best parts of the game is that there's no easy mode. If u get stuck on a boss there's no choice but to get good and beat it. Feels much better than turning the difficulty down to stomp it, which I would've ended up doing multiple times throughout the game. But, because that wasn't an option, I feel like I've accomplished something by beating the game. That's not something I've felt from other single player games.
Exactly, you felt the sense of accomplishment and pride, and humans are unfortunatly a flawed creatures, it would be easy to lower the difficulty "just this one time" to beat a boss, but it souress the experience, but beating it fair and square...that is something
you literally decide your own difficulty with the build you choose. what you are asking for is not an "easy mode", you are asking for an "easy mode" button in the menu. Games are Art. if the difficulty is part of the artists vision, then compromising difficulty means compromising the vision. not every piece of art is for everyone. deaf people can't appreciate music, the blind can't appreciate paintings and i can't appreciate taylor swift. find something you like instead of demanding people change something you dislike to your preferences.
You already have the option, run a ranged dps, use summons. The game has a lot of options that help you manage difficulty. It's just using game mechanics instead of a difficulty slider
Just put a configurable difficulty, so it sells more and more people can enjoy it. I completed the game with an OP bleed build and it was easy enough, but you die a 100 times, and it can be frustrating. Not everyone enjoys that high of a difficulty, and not all want to spend 30+ minutes learning an overagressive boss move set
I dont want an easy mode BUT when a big boss i super aggressive in a small space so you cant move when youre in a corner it kinda sucks and is a bad design
Elden Ring does have an easy mode, it's called overlevelling weapons and health. Try Sekiro if you think Elden Ring is difficult, to me Sekiro is a much superior game because it forces you to get a good rhythm going with the bosses and is incredibly enjoyable when you get that rhythm right and end up perfectly parrying 8 hit combos. You can literally go from being killed by a boss 50 odd times to knowing his moves so well that you kill him without ever getting hit. In Elden Ring you can simply out level everything...
You do realise that not every game should be enjoyed by everyone. I would claw my own eyeballs if someone told me to play Hearts of Iron IV... that does not mean Hearts of Iron should be simplyfied...it means that I am not the type of guy to play Hearts of Iron IV. And this thing is normal! Not everyone will be drawn to play street fighter, or mortal kombat, or some really out of this world point and click game with puzzles that make physics people burn. There is a game that is literally about programming scripts for your own team of robots (gladiabots) which is played by college guys who design scripts as part of their education... My point is that challenging games create sense of community, of belonging. If you eliminate that you are left with another one "play and forget"
@@JM-mh1ppI think there appears to be an.... Error.... In our... Communication. 😅 I am not saying anyone should eliminate the hard difficulty in all game, or really any games. I do think however, there should be an option to play at your speed for MOST* games. Eldin Ring included.
@@UncleGeeb Most games already have it, very few do not. Stick to those who have it and allow people to form communities with actual requirements, you do not have to belong to every club
Should Elden Ring have an easy mode?
no
It's already on easy mode. You just get to choose that based on which weapons you use and what buffs you use.

Personally I’d rather have people experience the worlds FromSoftware creates. Also forms community

Fingerprint shield=easy mode they give you plenty of tools to beat the game with no skill.
That with blasphemous blade idk how you can lose

I don’t think you can do that in the DLC
YES. Im sorry to be that guy but it is. I might just suck at games, but it's literally not enjoyable with that level of difficulty
