So I have the hornady under the bed safe and I can't even open it with the key.. I check the battery display and it says it's good but when I input the code it just makes a gear noise but won't open either. Is there another way?
How old is the locker? This sounds like a huge failure. I will keep track of anyone else having this issue. But for you, if you have a rifle in that locker, a Locksmith or if you are handy, prying or a cutoff wheel will be needed.
They're going to have legal problems once someone's kid gets a hold of something inside of it. Can you destroy the over ride lock with it still functioning?
I'll see if I can replace the lock with a better-quality lock soon. If it works out I'll post the how-to. If you destroy the lock, JB weld should do the trick. but if something goes wrong you will be cutting your guns out. Thanks for the comment..
Looking for something to secure a rifle in the rear of my SUV. Most lockers get mounted in, which I don’t want to do because then I won’t have access to the spare tire. I liked this Hornady because it comes with the cable to secure it to something. But I keep seeing videos like this one. Stumbled on your channel when I was considering the SecureIt FastBox. But it doesn’t have a cable option. Any suggestions on another quality product?
There is only one or two almost perfect lockers, V-line or Fort Knox's. No batteries to think about either. Now if you need storage for more than one rifle, then go with the Secureit 40 Fastbox, I just found out that the Secureit has 2 little bolts that pop out from both ends of the door, so there is one locking latch and 2 bolts, so pretty good pry protection. You could make or buy a tether cord. Use could use the predrilled holes in the back of the Secureit, or drill your own holes to fit the tether cord. Secureit also is way cheaper to buy off their website.
For what its worth, those cable can be cut in a second with a solid pair of Wiss brand snips or other snips that are common for people stealing lock boxes to have.
Great video

This is how my dreams work
The struggle is real.
I legit locked myself out of mine and can’t tell if your trolling or not. Guess we will find out
Update: regular bic pen does not work
You need the Bic Marker, I could not get the pen to work either, You can probably use a Sharpie too. The one I used was the Bic Mart It.
When you get it right, its super easy to do..
Is this a Hornady safe? Not all tubular locks are the same.
It’s a hornady safe identical to the first one you opened. Got it for Christmas. Bic marker worked
