I’d love to see it in a pry test

Excellent video. For the past several years I have rolled with a vaultek lifepod with a pistol in it for home defense. Back in 2017 I survived a gun range accident where I got shot with a 9mm, didn’t even slow me down much. I have always remembered this while relying on one for home defense with kids in the house. About 2 years ago we had someone kick in our door during a home invasion. Fortunately I had a large dog that ran them off before I got there and didn’t have to see if 9mm hornady critical defense actually had the knock down power. That dog is now very old and losing its senses. All of this makes me want to step up in caliber a lot should the worst happen again. 12 gauge is my ideal round for stopping power. Taking a hard look at Shotlock, but haven’t seen how fast someone can open it in the dark. I may go hornady because of the lighted keypad. I have a large multi-story house and am considering mounting a couple of these on both levels with shotguns.

I thought this was supposed to be a good vehicle safe for your truck gun? To me, it seems to big and ungainly unless you have a huge vehicle.

Does anyone know if you can unlock and/or change code remotely while not being home? Or is it something where you have to be near it with WiFi or Bluetooth

I've never had any of those problems with my billconch safe. The app is quick to load and it always reads my fingerprint on the first try. I've had it for almost two years and never has it failed me.

I just bought one of these. I really like it. Only time will tell how it holds up. But I did notice that this model is no longer available at Amazon.

If you do decide to buy one, buy an updated version with the steel lock-reinforcing back plate. Beware of purchasing older version on the secondary market. I currently have an older version Fort Knox pistol box which does not have a lock-reinforcing back plate and was informed by a Fort Knox representative today that there are currently no retrofit kits available for older versions of Fort Knox pistol boxes which do not have a steel lock-reinforcing back plate. The rep informed me that a new updated pistol box would have to be purchased. Hopefully they do the right thing and provide a fix for this. At the rate this safe can be raked open it's slower to open it using a fingerprint or the key. This product is a joke. FBI certified stolen is more like it.

You should do break in test on the steelhead pistol boxes. The one with the simplex lock and the one with the m1 lock 🙏

Oh my gosh I owe you a beer, I bumped my safe when moving it and it was beeping like crazy for hours and I couldn’t find the keyhole and the scanner was dead. Got in and was able to change the batteries. God bless you thank you for this video

Not bad.. Mine will be in my center console bolted down.. making it difficult to get into.. plus a car alarm..and maybe a carpeted dummy panel on top..I'm not too worried. Just need it for these liberal places that don't allow guns inside..

Stick with Vaultek safes. They set the bar for all others. They have a 20 hour back up battery run time and can be opened with the key even when they are completely dead.

Nobodys 5 y/o is going thru this to open a safe out of curiousity. And no intruder is doing this on top of even entering a home WITH GUNS in SEARCH OF GUNS. Guess ill just not have Bic Markers laying around. Im searching for a non biomatric safe (only digital) and pickings are slim.

I'm glad you touched on them being just gun lockers to keep out kids, but allow you to have easy access when you need it. If your safe has to be opened with lock picking tools, then you're most likely already screwed lol

HELP!! If my RPNB RP4060 Pistol Safe is locked (it came with my new truck and is mounted inside), how do I open it or reprogram or get a new code or obtain new keys or a key FOB...?

Have you done the drop test? I saw a video where they drop it, and it opened the safe .

NOTE: AweSafe has recalled this safe! The fingerprint scanner has been allowing children to access the contents and this has ended in tragedy. Personally, I've concluded that biometrics is still a new technology and not 100% reliable. You can see their failures in the video and remember - your life may depend on quick access to your firearm!
