It would be nice if someone could confirm whether this forced open effort is still an issue. The video that shows entry with a screwdriver and paperclip is several years old now...want to believe Vaultek addressed this but would like to verify.

Just got it working with my iPhone 14 pro, did you press, as I said in this video, program button, 1 and 4 at the same time? and make sure your app is open too, this will enable slide open. Also, make you downloaded version 2.0 from the app store.

With no name safe lockers, just keep the backup key around just in case. I have no experience with this brand. Will it last 2 years, probably not. Or you could buy this amzn.to/3XQbZEA and last a life time.

I just took a look, and it looks to have an anti-pry design like a Vaultek, and a good gauge of steel build. The key model is only $190. Nice compact design too. I would take these Steelhead's over most V-line or Fort Knox if you only need a 1 or 2-gun safe. It's a breath of fresh air to have a tough little safe with quality key access. Keyed or Simplex, I'd say go for it..

@@g19-3 Bump in the night, Simpex is best, Key would be second, 3rd would be a quality biometric safe from Vaultek or Verifi, the Verifi is a little slow with, I believe, 3 seconds to open with a fingerprint. When it comes to the most secure little safe you can buy, that would be the Stealth Shadow Vault SV1 safe amzn.to/46GjtwQ You can't pick into it, and you can't drill one small hole to defeat the mechanism like the KABA Simplex lock, and it's made with thick gauge steel, so it's super tough. The Stealth is an electronic number pad safe and takes one 9v battery. I like a gas strut; they also put those on safes with a heavy lid, but it's for a different reason than you would think. Now with my Fort Knox PB1, it doesn't really help much to open the lid, it just keeps the lid in place so it doesn't fall on your hand, it's more to control the lowering of the lid safely. But on other brands, the strut shoots the lid open fast, and that's also a good thing. If you want a Fort Knox-type type safe with a Simplex lock that has a build in light take a look at this Viking Security Safe VS-12LSX amzn.to/3SGRUNQ Why is the Viking safe at a lower price than the Fort Knox, but has more features? Viking uses the made-in-the-USA Simplex lock, but everything else on the safe is made in China. Fort Knox is all made in the USA with a lifetime warranty. If you get any little safe that can fit 2 pistols, you should have plenty of room for any pistol with optics, and flashlight. One thing for Steelhead, for their size, they look to be the toughest little safes you can find. If they ever put them on Amazon, they would be all over my top list of safes.

These safes can be bolted down, as there are pre-drilled holes on the bottom. Even if they're not bolted down, they prevent someone from easily accessing your firearm. Say if you took a shower, someone breaks into your house, they see your gun on the nightstand, or in this scenario your gun is in the little Fort Knox, it's going to take tools and noise and time to get what's inside.

Sometimes you pick these habits from childhood. And if you ever make content, you can try your best, but it still happens, and say it the wrong way. At the end of the day, people have complained my skin is too white, they get upset that my wrists are not thick enough, or can't understand what I'm saying, on and on. All I can tell you is this, make some content, put it on UA-cam, and you will find out that you are just a human too, and nobody is perfect.

Well, just as I was about to finish the video with the Billconch, it was on the desk next to my computer, and with just slight vibrations opened all by itself. How the hell in good faith am I going to recommend that for any price?

@@exoctactical6153 You should perhaps try the B2 model that has just one U-Shaped lock. Sadly, the Vaultek gun safe can easily be lockpicked, same as Sentry.

There is a reason it's only $70 .. if you don't care about the major design flaws and the fact that you can get into it w a butter knife then you really cant beat the price of not buying anything and just putting it into your night stand since it provides about the same level of security. I bet the family of 12 year old Carson Preston were also stoked with the great deal they got on their fortress safe after he was able to get into it with a faulty finger print sensor and killed himself. Some day people will realize that there is a time and place for Cheap crap and locking up a gun is not one..
