    Good. Finally a video clearly explaining IN DEPT the valve timing system and his mecanism.
    Not the usual suparficial chat.

    Knowing this I think I'll change my oil more frequently to keep those chambers clean.

    This video is superb thank you for uploading. Now I know how my mustang 5.0 Coyote engine works to adjust valve timing!!

    Great video. Easy to understand. Thanks. The technology is impressive and all, but an electric motor is soooo simple compared. We just need to "advance" our battery, and electricity storage and production technology.

    It would have been helpful to point out the parts that typically fail and the symptoms each can cause.

    Having said that with iridium plugs 10mm quad leads it was very responsive for a 115hp

    If these solenoid are electrically disconnected, would it light the check-engine light? My 5.0 seems sluggish after the dealer fixed a leaky water pump. It picks up torque around 3,000 RPM.

    Great to know how my car's valvetrain works, but now I'm forseeing the need to clean out the oil chambers and passages.

    Well, now I'm sold... From here on out I'm only putting 93 octane and 100% synthetic oil into my little mill. It certainly appears that this engine is mechanically complex enough to merit the additional margin of safety afforded by a premium synthetic.

      Lash LaRue in the us for a Fiesta the recommended is 5w20 synthetic blend, not full synthetic

      @@COYGunners 5w30 will be better for protection and wear, 5w20 for very little bit of fuel economy

      Karol my main concern is with the Ti-VCT small holes where the oil has to go through.

    • @oluskloc
      @oluskloc 3 роки тому +1

      @@COYGunners in Europe they recommend 5w30 so it should be fine and it's better oil than 5w20. In Opel they recommend 5w30-5w40 oil but variable cam timing works best and longest on 5w50 haha

    what happens if i disconect the 2 solenoids ? and if i start engine ? would work like a classic 1.6 ?

    • @MrKeksdose99
      @MrKeksdose99 5 років тому

      Yes. I drive a focus with this exact engine. If you disconnect a solenoid or a sensor the ti vct system won't operate and leave you with zero power

    • @oluskloc
      @oluskloc 3 роки тому

      It will leave you with running but weak 1.6 engine, very not rev happy

    Can I make it to always use the advance mode?

    • @oluskloc
      @oluskloc 3 роки тому

      Yes you can but it's pointless, for lower rpm retarded cam timing is better for both torque and fuel economy. Changing the whole cam timing map should be beneficial especially when running some mods. Maybe it will allow more advance on higher rpm

    Complicated design. Very unreliable and any oil pressure issues spell problems. Major money for repairs. No thank you.
