That man’s testimony was 100% perfect. If I was sitting on a jury, his testimony alone is what would make me seal the deal of GUILTY. His calm, professional, precise detailed testimony was 100% believable.

Yeah, well... When an idiot thinks they are right, only catastrophic failure will ever dissuade them. Too bad that failure is the kind that doesn't give you a second chance. What bothers me the most though is how he said that the industry values the safety of its consumers over innovation. When it comes to visiting generations old shipwrecks, innovation is far less important than the lives of the consumers who may use that product.
Want to know a secret? Rush wasn't completely mad, there is actually some evidence in being able to use CarbonFiber in a similar way, he wasn't even the first to mix it with titanium end caps even though he goes out of his way to say there is a rule you don't mix titanium and carbon fiber "well I did" or whatever. You can look into a navy or other military built submersible capable of operating at similar and even lower depths than the titan made from relatively similar materials with more successful trips. The issue was Stockton wasn't trying to make a safe vehicle, he was trying to make a cheap vehicle. So he could maximize his profits off each trip and any sales he may have made. While the materials are viable, they are not viable in the method he used with the corners he cut. Not only was he extremely narcissistic, his actions also reek of desperation.I can't tell if he cared more about his ego, or was trying so hard to keep from bankrupting it was worth risking his life. Regardless, the choices Stockton made were reckless and foolish and came at the disregard of all human life, including his own. I hope his business partners are held responsible too.

the thing is they weren't maximizing profits. they were losing millions of dollars each Titanic trip.

im still amazed Paul-Henri Nargeolet went. if i was considering it, as soon as id heard he was going id trusted it. rip to them all. im angry about it, im angry at stockton rush, (more like 'in a rush') and im angry at the cost. what is the point going to the titanic wreck site, with its obvious its full of dangerous conditions, and what is the best that can happen?? you can only view it through a screen. you cant get out and touch it etc. you could stay above sea and send down remote submersibles, and see the titanic throw the exact screen. leave it alone

I have so much respect & admiration for David Lochridge. That engineer department (Tony Nissen) were a bunch of narcissists. All arrogance & hubris. Stockholm murdered those people. He KNEW that submersible was going to fail. He KNEW. He was a very narcissistic, I know it all, jealous & envious man.
I hope David & his family know how much we appreciate this man. His family should be very proud of him.

Imagine that, the company wanted to make money or perhaps just the individual who owned the company or the submissible submersible. I think it was a very foolish thing to do and I wouldn’t have gotten in that submarine even at the dock and maybe not even if it was out of the water on dry land. But for some simpleton to say the guy wanted to make money is I think a fairly obvious endeavor. I don’t think there was any proof that the people who got in the submarine and paid their money were handcuffed and forced to do this. Stupidity gets spread around even amongst people who have lots of money and little sense. Pardon the pun.

Funny Triton Submarines which is a bespoke submersible builder of the most advanced submersibles they make loads of money. They sell submersibles for 12 million -27 million dollars. They even offer design services hence their creation of Limiting Factor. They have clients all over the world. Thing is their craft last for 30 years minimum.
