- Well I was going to scrap this one but I decided to make do with what footage I had, not the best one but I'm sure it will educate, help, entertain someone somewhere at some point or another! so I made the most of it and posted it! Anything is better than nothing when its free 😂
Head over to @JJonCars UA-cam channel and check out his CLK we serviced for him and see what we find. link below!

As always all the best to you all thanks for the support.
So not the best video guys but I’m sure some of you will learn something from it or help someone.
Just to add the CLS declined extra jobs and drove it to inverness 🏴 after collecting 👀
Also make sure you check out jj on cars!
All the best everyone 🙏
Bloody nuts
Great, great content !!!
Always enjoyable to watch a genuine expert sharing their craft and knowledge, thanks for every video
Sam, another great episode. Cheers Phil.
@@sprautos It was good, I watched it while rowing at the gym.
Best one we had was a customer who came in after his clutch slave cylinder failed. We'd changed the engine on the vehicle just over 3 years ago previously. Said it was something we'd done and wanted it replaced for free. My boss told him where to go, guy threatened us with lawyers and court etc. Never heard from him again!
Since my engine swap 3 years ago my clutch has gone 😂😂
keep it going even if its bits and bobs, most of us appreciate your content and knowledge.
TBF he kinda sounds expensive 😂
@@reflexcoil9808 The cost of the parts are usually dictated by Mercedes, however if you watch other videos Sam has produced, you will see he actually saves his customers money, either by knowing pretty much what the common issues are, in the Case of SL's he makes a suspension bush that costs £125 instead of a new strut form Mercedes at £1500, or points out the jobs that need doing therfore saving the expense of a breakdown or future hours of labour by doing the job whilst he is in there. That is what specialists do, I have a specialist Mercedes Van mechanic near me I use and long term the guy has saved me a small fortune.
Glad you didn't scrap the footage, it was interesting and enjoyable. The "since you did my service" brought back some memories, must of had them on an almost weekly basis (VW/Audi dealer). Thanks for taking the time to make this content. 👍
Can’t be wrong for being truthful and honest
Appreciate any video you put out Sam. They are all very informative. Keep up the good work. Can't believe the CLS owner, obviously doesn't value life too much or any one else's on the road.
Great to see you being gifted a nice wine set! FWIW, I'm glad you didn't scrap the video, there's always something to learn.
I learn a lot from watching your channel, which helps me keep my Benzes on the road. I also appreciate that there aren’t any Gordon Ramsay-type meltdowns-at least not on camera-when dealing with stubborn service issues.
Judging by some of the problems you deal with, I get the impression that many Merc drivers do tend to neglect their cars, when you have low oil levels and broken springs and faults that the customer should be aware of, or is it simply the cost of owning a Merc that many drivers don't budget for, they just want the prestigious mark.
Definitely keep it going. Good to see all the bits and pieces that go on, and there's always at least one snippet of new knowledge to gain each week.
Thank you. Never apologise if 'real' work gets in the way. In contrast to many car content channels you personally are not only the boss but a hands on mechanic. Your primary income source is your workshop not UA-cam. Regarding this content , as always there is always something to learn. If your entertainment center freezes consider a software update. Handbrake light issues could be ABS sensor and of course if you have to change an ABS sensor do 'em all. All tips that we've learned from your personal experiences.
Your spot on there mate
I certainly hope the CLS owner decides to pay you another visit. Everything you found are truly "no bullshit" items that require attention.
I like that “no bullshit items” 🙌
Yay! My favourite vehicle repair channel is on! Where the heck is my beer?😊😊
🍻
Previous owner had the SBC pump reconditioned on my 211. Pump totally failed on me coming off a slip road on the A1. Terrifying. Agree with replacing them 100%
Any customer that questions you in the work you say needs doing on their merc, need their head testing. Great guy, great garage, great service and great vids
We need more videos on those beautiful M273 engines and on C 216/W 221 models. Very hard to find professionals willing to put their hands on them, at least in my area where those cars and engines are very rare. Thank you for your great informative videos
Yep I have had all this over the years
You touch a car anything happens it’s always our fault
Very strange .
You are a top man
Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
I don't own a Merc but love your channel. Real insight into the issues in diagnosing problems on modern cars. Also the difficulty of getting parts for some fixes. Cheers for the content.
Great content as ever. I own a garage in Cornwall and have had many SINCE YOU SERVICED MY CAR lol
Great content Sam, understand the time pressures you are under in a “live” garage situation. It is amazing how when it comes to car servicing, it seems to bring out the worst traits in some people! I salute you for your patience and tenacity in dealing with such people. It also nice to see that others appreciate your work and send you gifts in appreciation of your efforts. Keep up the good work on the channel 👍😎
🙏
From portugal, good videos, enthusiast benz...
I'm glad you did put this together Sam. Always good viewing. Also, who wouldn't want to work in a bat cave??, and who knew Reece has such a good sense of homour. Kudos Reece.
Thanks for taking the time to do this video. I certainly learned a few things 👍
Apprecite that it is not esay making a video in a working envirinment, however your content is amazing. Please keep these videos going, skill and knowledge is amazing
I appreciate that! Many thanks 🙏
You are doing your job by informing the customer of the hazards. Some people run these cars on the tightest of budgets.
I love watching these videos as much as big Dave loves a pot noodle. Keep making them it's really informative thank you
Well done for keeping it going 👏
Cracking guy ...Cracking channel...!
🙏
Interesting video thanks. Nice when a customer shows their appreciation
Thank you very much for your videos! I run a dealership in Warwickshire and being a Mercedes enthusiast I am always buying these cars for stock, and regularly get stuck with faults, recently an EIS Unit on an SL350. I have a W208 CLK that lives in the South Of France that is frequently needing attention!😅
Fantastic videos really appreciate it, quite an education even for those in the trade.
great video, love the knowledge and results. and now subscrided for more content.
Came across your channel today on my lunch break, love the weekly update videos, keeps me motivated to carry on with my own work ha
Awesome! Thank you! And you’ve got plenty to catch on. Enjoy
I really enjoy the new weekly format videos and great to see the presents you got 🍺 🍻
Haven't been following you for long but do like your content👍, used to be in the garage business so fully understand your frustrations..
Awesome, thank you! And you’ve plenty to catch up on
Awesome, thank you! And you’ve plenty to catch up on
Thanks for keeping the content coming, it’s always informative and entertaining 😅
Great video, great channel, just started watching. Sounds like you need to add speed sensors on your shelf with other regular consumables !
Great videos. I watch them every week, on the big screen/TV which says it all really !! ..Looking forward to the next one already! Not sure if you work on many X166 GL's but this would be something I'd like to see , or even the ML (same gig, really) as I'm considering buying one in the future 👍🏻
I do like your channel, I was thinking of replacing my A124 because I had a GBP 1,000 bill this year, but now, seeing the repair costs of newer models I think I will just keep it.
Another epic video. I enjoy your ramblings. Every video gives me info on all aspects of servicing. My slk 280 would come to you if I lived closer so I do all my own servicing - with mb parts sourced from my main dealer. I don’t trust them to change my washer fluid. Your ethic for looking after the customer is now very rare. Keep it up as it is an example to other garages to follow.
Thanks 👍
I wonder if I ramble to much sometimes 😂
@@sprautos- your ramble is part of the attraction Sam, you have a very dry sense of humour 😂😂😂
Don't put yourselves down. another great video as always, please keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!
We used to call them sinceyous. The funniest was an elderly gentleman came in with his Mercedes Estate and complained that since we had had his car in the workshop the rear footwell was filling up with water. It was completely filled and we discovered the rubber tube from the metal sunroof had perished and the water was going in not out. But it was our fault apparently
😂😂
Great video. Recently found your page..also a garage owner. Well informed vids 👌
I’m sure you can relate to allot of this. And welcome 🙏 plenty to catch up on.
Great content as ever . Would it be better to say never had that car in here before so we need to do a health check which will cost you £----- yes you brought car in for ABS fault but that is our policy . Lump it or leave.
3
Brilliant content, only been watching for a few weeks and I am hooked.
Thank you and welcome 🙏
Great content as always and always learn something new. The CLS work is very helpful 👌🏾
Appreciate it!
So many electrical failures these days, I used to run a garage on the south coast with my father, so really enjoying your post, and very informative, I have a 2013 C class AMG coupe 2.5 diesel, I do a any preventative maintenance, hopefully avoiding any major issues, shocked at people when they leave serious faults, but not surprising as had it all the time !!!! Please keep post coming, thanks.
The door switch pack problem was a new one to me, £20 for a Chinese made one on ebay - now that's asking for trouble! Another great video - thanks 👍
Another great video, Sam. You guys have been very busy, I agree it must be very frustrating when you get a customer trying it on to get something done for free after a service or something else being done. You guys are very thorough in what you do, so it must be a bit frustrating car's leaving the garage with serious issues because the customer will not pay for the upkeep on their mercedes. Really enjoyed the video. Please keep them coming. 😊
As we say in Norway: A 1000 thanks 4 awesome channel! So uplifting to see 100% honest mechanics on yt. Great Awakening.
thank you!🙏
Loving these videos, nice to see that you take time to understand and fix the niggly and multiple faults which could well see people think their car is only fit for the scrapyard. As someone who runs car which is 20 plus years old, I’m always glad when my garage point out issues which could cause problems soon, like rusty brake pipes or frayed belts, or indeed corroded ABS rings. Why you just wouldn’t get them done is beyond me.
Brilliant video, its good to see how busy you are, hard work you all plough through. Can't believe how some customers take risks driving their cars when you have highlighted defects. Unbelievable. I'm sure your used to it.
Notice your smart hair cut, you look even more handsome!! 😊
Hope you enjoy the weekend off to rest and enjoy our recent hot weather. Its so touching seeing how kind some customers are with gifts to show their appreciation. It demonstrates how good you and your team are. Keep the videos coming when time allows. 👌
Thank you 🙏
Yea we’re used to it. Enjoy the weather while it lasts!
And yes the gifts are great 👍
Amazing the issues you come across. Not surprised about your comments about issues arising post service. Thanks for the videos. Always enjoy your honesty in how you deal with things.👍👍
Again glad you didn’t scrap the footage, and the weekly updates of jobs interesting and always great watch 👍
I love your honesty, it is not just you getting picked on. I have supplied customers with printer cartridges and been blamed for a computer on another network not working. Even after being told that the printer we supplied cartridges for is printing fine. I wish you well, keep on going.
😂 belter. Since I fitted my ink the internets gone down 😂
Great episode, some rare cars there👍 keep them coming no matter what👊
New subscriber and loving the insight into the Mercedes models.
Welcome aboard!
This video was great, glad you put it out, shows true life in a modern garage, thanks, gift box was a lovely gift.
Glad you enjoyed it. Lovely gift 🎁 still don’t know who it is off
Châteauneuf-du-Pape??? One of the best ... and most expensive wines on the planet! Hope you enjoy it.. you should make a video on drinking that!
Even the box it came in would cost a lot.
That 249mph speedo had me in stitches! 🤣
Great video, as all ways keep them coming very interesting to watch the longer the video The better 👍🏻 thank you for your time to make them.
Love these. Thanks as always for taking the time and massive effort to share what goes on. Nice to see some people giving back. Chin up 👍😊
Cheers from Nashville, TN! Keep the awesome videos coming! Wishing you all much success.
Thanks! You too!
I really enjoy this style of content and it could be longer or with more “bloopers” and still be great. 👍
I take my car at Listers in Hull and I have never complained about the price or other things that needs doing. I just let them get on with it and pay up. My last bill was 1700
Love your videos and explanations. Love your honesty. Thinking of bringing my E-Class to you for service from Leeds
Another great video. I appreciate watching an unscripted real world channel - plus I always learn something new.
I appreciate that!
I enjoy all your videos.. much better to be honest and show warts and all. 😁 Came here from High Peak Autos by the way. Keep up the good work
Glad you didn’t scrap the video. As usual it was informative … and entertaining!
Enjoyed that video, I used to work on cars and had loads of 'since you serviced my car this happened. 😅😅😅
Thanks, very interesting as usual, appreciate you’re busy and still manage to get a video out! You guys deserve the beer 🙏
Much appreciated! 🍻
I wish you were nearer, would be wonderful to have you looking after my W212 E63. Great videos 👍
Enjoyed this video - It’s proper content and paints a real picture of what you do.
Plus I’ve learned a bit from it
Love your channel. I hope these MBs allow you to live a comfortable life. Many of these cars have relatively low mileage and are requiring thousands in repairs. Crap cars that look nice. I've owned two and got rid of as the warranty was running out. By the way, you're voice sounds just like Ringo Starr. That's a cool thing.
That's just these lovely people trying it on thinking i can get something done for free.
Appreciate you taking time to make videos ❤
All your videos are interesting and informative. You give invaluable insight into what the ownership of various Merc models looks like from a maintenance standpoint. Perfect..Thank you.
Glad you like them!
Like your relaxed approach on camera. Good video…. 😃👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Brilliant video I like how you're not repairing just one car in these videos 👍
Good video with pace enough to keep it interesting. Gifts from satisfied customers is all the endorsement needed.
Absolutely
This is becoming one of my favourite channels. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I am now off to the garage to try and figure out why I have a rear right speed sensor fault on my 288k miles MB Viano. It is turning so many lights on the dash including transmission faults. I am after doing a full suspension restoration. All Febi parts by the way. Wish me luck
Good luck, and febi parts are good quality so you will be fine.
I love these videos so helpful and great viewing keep it up
The E55 W210 is epic - I'd risk the maroon S500 Designo as well.
A mate just bought a 62 plate C220CDi estate, 200,000 miles, £1200. It seems fine.
It’s nice that e55 is it
It’s a great video - I’m definitely glad you decided to put it out there 😀. Some interesting things to see. Not sure how anyone can let their oil level get that low - I must admit I check mine regularly ‘just in case’, like tyre pressures. Always carry a spare 1 Litre oil bottle in the car too 😂. Call me obsessional - yes I am…
Nothing wrong with spare oil you never know
7:46 transberry milkshake
😂
ABS sensors seem to be a common failure for all the models not just the SL and CL. My SLK has just had all four replaced recently and I had them replaced in 2017.
I use a local specialist (shame I'm not near you) and they said the diagnostic has only come up with one sensor fault. I said replace all four anyway, save me having to come back within the month. They then had to order them in and I had to come back in a week. By that time they found that two sensors were faulty. This is why I don't bother waiting for the rest to go, I just get all four done together.
Always great content really enjoyed the varied content 👍
"It's free"....that has to become a meme!! LOL
Great video enjoy your workmanship
Stumbled on your channel last weekend.. and been watching through the back catalogue since 👌 love the content and you and your teams methodical work 👍 A VW guy myself, only Merc experience was a £250 2001 C230 in 487 paprika .. rotten wings and all sorts of knackered front arms... it was punted on for a small raise and not brought back to glory by me 😂
Glad you enjoyed caught up.
Mercedes has long had an issue with speed sensors. It's happened on all my Mercs. Great video
These are just normal problems with old cars I’ve just had 4 new springs and brake pipes front to back fitted on my 2006 BMW E60 2.5 I still a great car
What a fantastic and honest watch this is { as indeed is the series} ..do you service classic mercs like 1975 250 ce's?
This morning I realized I’m actually looking forward to your videos! You belong in my top 3. You, amgmeister and the car care nut. Thank you for doing this. Oh, btw, don’t you have the 25 years extended warranty from Mercedes on the sbc system in the UK?
Cheers appreciate that.
Unfortunately we don’t, only in the US.
It’s a shame, customer service at the dealer isn’t what it used to be in the Uk
@@sprautos thank you for finding the time to reply. You’re the 2nd channel I ever subscribed to that made that effort. All the best!
Certainly wish we had a shop like this in Lower Alabama.
such knowlege , your a legend mate , for these great vids
Just let the "new customers" know the extra miles you went or they'd take it for granted.
Love these video's- Well done
"Me" 🤣🤣🤣. You are sooo funny
😂🙌
I know what it's like to try and get constant content out so we appreciate it when you can get them out. Love learning from them.
I appreciate that!
Another great video. Keep up the good work.
