Nijo Castle, bro. It's like half the reason I even wanna go. Also I'm a weeb so I'm probably going to look up what the specialty food souvenirs of Kyoto are and get a box of those to bring home, like I'm on the second-year-of-high-school trip I never got to have.

These videos are great! I'm travelling to Japan again this summer, it'll be my second time in the country, what would you recommend for someone who has already seen the common things around Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo?

Hi Maydaysan! How about the Japan trip not everyone does next time? Like Nagoya, which is so underrated yet is the gateway to central Japan’s Gifu-Magome juku, Takayama and Shirakawago. Just a suggestion.
I wanna do this eventually but it’s not the time now, and I haven’t traveled enough around those areas enough to justify making one ☝️ someday though or one place at a time
Jokes on you maydaysan I'm taking a night bus from Hiroshima to Kyoto directly so I can start my day in Kyoto at 6 am to avoid crowds hehehe because the earlier the better these days, about the only way to avoid some crowds I have heard. (yes I posted this before watching lmao)
@@maydaysan interesting, I’m starting my trip in Fukuoka (flight from Narita) then hopefully the new one piece Hiroshima then this bus to Kansai then another night bus from Kansai to Kawaguchiko, see the pretty pagoda with Sakura then whatever to Tokyo lol. So many Types of transport in Japan!!
True true. I have a long travel day planned to get to Kyoto on the first day after arriving in Tokyo. I’m mentally preparing for how exhausting that’ll be. 😂 great videos man they really help confirm my first trip itinerary.

No love for Toei Kyoto Studio Park? :( The Imperial Palace? Heian Shrine? Higashi Hongan-ji? Or Honno-ji where Nobunaga was ambushed by one of his betraying generals during the Sengoku Period? At least visit a Lashinbang or Melonbooks on your way back.
Last year I did the "Japan golden route that everybody does" (Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka etc…) I have to say Kyoto was quite underwhelming. Maybe it’s because it’s the place everyone goes and I had it all hyped up in my head but I found it kinda…meh. I actually preferred Kanazawa to Kyoto but maybe that’s just me. Anyways love the videos dude, looking forward to seeing more. ✌️ from 🇬🇧
What did I miss on this GENERIC Kyoto trip?
Wait what if we are starting from Kyoto, like genuinely?

Poopihead, Then just start from Kyoto! It depends how the rest of your schedule is looking
@@maydaysan Okay thank you😭🙏

You forgot the part where you take three hours to walk through Nishiki Market and never get close to any of the shops because it’s too crowded.
ah thats like everywhere though
The first time I was in Japan was in 2017 with my mom.We were in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto but we didn't see these things, except for the golden temple
Ah well it’s probably even harder now due to tourism
I am from Brazil and I'm going to Japan next month. Your videos are helping me a lot!! Thanks bro
That's awesome! Enjoy!
We get it. You’ve been to Japan.
Congratulations
Thanks!

Im glad it helps!
When I was 12 I went to Japan. I cheated at the love rock by pretending my eyes were closed but I was peeking. That's all I remember about the trip.
diabolical.
In a Nutshell: Kyoto is a paradise of rich culture that is overflooded by tourist , @ 7:22 That my life be like , it is a good old meme man...
No Nishiki market? Everyone goes there as well
Tbh I’ve never even heard of that place until like a few days ago haha 😂

I hope you do get to travel more and see other hidden gems…wish I could meet you too in your future trips!
I used to live near fushimi inari, low-key the best time to go was at like 10pm if you don't mind potentially getting attacked by monkeys or boars.
I MEAN-
Ty sir
no problem
legend! thank you for this. would you say Kyoto first or Osaka? I will be in Kyoto first. is this bad?
Osaka! Get used to the culture and crowds first, Kyoto will crunch you

but everyone knows to go at 6am-
good on ya, I heard Hiroshima starts are increasing this year especially via Koreans!

finally
HOW LONG WE WERE WAITING-
Bro nailed it 😂
Haha but did I miss anything?
I spent 5 days in Kyoto and I didn't visit any of the places listed in day 2 for this video. 😅
wow im surprised you skipped Kinkakuji! Where did you go?
My face when I already planned on going to Kyoto first 👁👄👁
No literally me too😭🙏
HOW ARE YOU GONNA LAND IN KYOTO-
Hey maydaysan great video how about the Sendai trip everyone does
I been there only once and did like two things. Maybe that’s the thing we do haha I’d have to research it
Why not Kyoto first? Now I’m concerned about my upcoming trip haha
You can't land in Kyoto. So you'll likely end up landing in Osaka (spending time there), then heading to Kyoto. Or going from Tokyo.

basic, no issues!
You're hilarious
haha no way
