Astor is the most underrated car in India by far... even Ravi made a video about it a few months ago. I have an Astor top model as well and my experience has been the same, it's excellent.
I've heard that the punch from the engine is not there in Astor. Is it true?
@@godofwarsoham1.5 litre is not that great... it's fine, just not performance oriented. 1.3 turbo is pretty powerful. Although, there's some turbo lag.

@@pavasambashta3103 well my 1.5 dsg automatic slavia gives 11-12 in city on AC and around 20 kmpl on highways with 4 passengers and AC on.. it has 2 cylinder deactivation technology so in cruise control or speed below 100 it gives that mileage.. even with agressive overtakes.. my skoda dealer was also really helpful and service experience has been really good..

@neellad7809 Actually, Astor doesn't have 1.5 AT..It is either 1.3 Turbo AT or 1.5 NA CVT..
Now, if you mean 1.3 Turbo AT, then you can be completely sure that the car won't struggle even a bit even on steep slopes in hilly area..Engine is very powerful and capable..Ride quality is awesome..Actually, I have covered a few hilly regions, and even after being fully packed, the ride was butter smooth..
Coming to the "net" provided below the sunroof..Before buying the Astor, I was also very skeptical about heat coming into the cabin..Several youtubers were also increasing the concern about it..However after spending two hot summers of Bihar and Bengal where temperature crosses 45°C, I can assure that heat into the cabin is also not a problem..AC of the car is superbly powerful..It cools down the car within the minutes..Also, you can even remotely start the AC even before sitting into the car..So, cabin heat is not an issue at all..
Mileage is the only issue..If you are not very much bothered about it, MG Astor Turbo 1.3 AT is a superb car..

I bought nexon dark 7 months ago and considering my experience with Tata service. I feel regret of my purchase as I kind of didnt even consider MG at the time, now that I see the level of support experience they provide I'm thoroughly impressed. No matter how good or bad the product is, it's really important to have good customer service experience. If I'd known about MG service back then I'd reconsidered my purchase decision

The defogger is a feature available in all cars. Right from the cheapest vehicle to the most expensive. It has been a constant feature since the past 15+ years. Difference is that, Astor has an automatic dedicated option, other cheaper vehicles have a manual option in the Air-con.
I thinks Astor is his 1st Car.. 2 software issues in 1 year & he is gaga over the MG services

Not his fault though, this syndrome is with every car owner - Punch owner justifying, "Jab 5 star safety de rahe ho toh engine issues toh koi bada baat nahi" 😂😂 It's human psychology that we get a sense of more self approval and satisfaction of our choice the more we talk good about our choice. We always love to say or hear anything that reaffirms our beliefs.

MG astor is not as comfortable as its competitors I had a test drive if your height is more than 5.8 you will have issues while driving the steering of the car was touching my leg i was not even able to move my leg
Please try changing the cable for uninterrupted connectivity for Apple car play and Android auto. There could be issue with the cable too.

it has the shortest boot in the segment when considering motoroctanes comparo so plus the panoramic sunroof doesnt have a proper cover on it
well i agree mg astor is great cars with good features..but reason i went for slavia 1.5 dsg automatic is even though it lacks some features astor has.. it has this 2 cylinder deactivation technology and dsg gearbox.. and gives around 20 kmpl on highways while astor can max out at 14 or 15 as all 4 cylinders run without deactivation.. same goes for city expect bumper to bumper traffic where mileage of both the cars is the same.. but in moving traffic slavia gives 50% more mileage then astor.. so for slavia driving is little better and mileage is much better
Astor is a fantastic overall package but still idk why choose Xuv300 over Astor and Except Features and Interior I am Very happy with what I got..! 💗

i can relate him... i have test drove 15 vehicle after selling my TUV300 top model 2015 on Aug 11 2023... I am taking Super Model for 13.15 on Road New Delhi... i loved it...

Everything is good about the car except the mileage!! i own the top Savvy model CVT with ADAS (march 2022) and just love the car but the mileage sucks power and pickup is decent and MG service is top notch without any fancy warranty or maintenance package purchased. Recent update the DRLs of my car had turned yellow they changed the entire headlights free of cost but that gives a benefit of doubt why so early the DRLs went dull (chinese quality??) The AI robot is an headache the infotainment sim is mostly out of network and struggles, Aircon is a bit loud but a chiller and lastly the rear row comfort is jut ok not the best. I wish they would have added ventilated seats and automatic IRVM in the car atleast to the top model.
Good review. Only wish from all car manufacturers is that they give sunroof only in optional package not in regular package. This helps customers who do not want this sunroof which is mostly useless in India to be forced upon them.

I went for VW taigun over MG and Kia , taigun and kushaq has better driving dynamics and safety , I have done over 18K Kms still love driving taigun every time I start it!! Driving dynamics over features anyday !

Amazing video as usual motoroctane. Sorry bro but the bonnet of this car goes inside by applying little pressure, same situation is with the roof of this MG Astor. Its budget friendly but not a safe family car. Rather i would suggest honda elevate if you want comfort and safety, ofcourse it lags in tech department. If tech was your choice should have opted for nexon pure. Or venue for that matter

MG Astor is the most underrated car in its segment, one of the safest and VFM car but degraded by the UA-camrs, brainwashing the buyers against the brand and mileage when it’s literally the same for all the cars in the segment(turbo).

yes it gives you 7-8 kmpl in city and 13-14 kmpl in highway you might get 17-18 on highway but in city your mileage will be in single digits

I booked that exact same Astor and mg took 4 months and still couldn’t deliver it making excuses like “delivery’s are full” “car is in full demand “ yaar Ghanta demand, worst customer service and I booked Skoda got the Kushaq 1.5 tsi in less then 2 weeks

Owning astor for nearly 2 years, i have to say that it is the most underrated car in the segment, safety, comfort is on another level ! Indeed astor scored 5 stars in both asean and euro ncap and u can feel that in the bonnet and door weight, happy customer of Astor 😀

@@rameshkumar7086 city apox 10.5 highway 14 on moderate driving style, if you drive below 2k rpm u can expect more mileage, we drive it around 2.5k to 3.5k

As a owner of an MG astor Cvt had done a Goa to Mumbai trip and back. We had the best time. Only problem is the 360 camera, its not that great.

Its a bloody good car. Its the most comfortable car in this segment. The only down side? Abysmal mileage.
Everything else? Astor is the almost best car in this segment. The TSI 1.5 is far more fun to drive, if you are an enthusiast but not everyone wants to drive like that. For an average person, Astor is the best option. Source : Have MG Astor Sharp(o) for 2yrs. Have used Kushaq for 2 months and Seltos for around a month. EDIT: Most of the comments here are bots and copy-pasted crap. (both sides MG and its competition)
Also an addition : This car offers something that most cars, even cars in the next 2 segment doesn't offer. Manual control over steering wheel. You can change the tightness of the steering wheel from the infotainment system. You can make it dynamic (changes depending on speed), urban (steer with just pinky finger) or normal (changes depending on the speed but still light enough)
It offers multiple features like this which are not found on many cars...another example would be mirror heating. (Not gona list all of em here btw)

I did the test drive today and believe me it feels better than Skoda Kushaq while driving. The only issue is back seat thigh support. I was absolutely blown away buy the music system, tech was a little glitchy as when sales lady told to Open Sunroof, it said No😂. Then handbrake was stuck upside, I used all my force but handrest was in the way. Again, the last is mileage, it was 6km/l in the mileage shown in the MID. That is the only reason I am going with Skoda, can easily get 13-14kmpl while here the best you can get is 10-11kmpl. Also the sales lady was a little grumpy.

Who buys MG for comfort they buy for features, I'll with hector for a while but not Astor.
Features won't help you in accident. He could have checked out the Harrier or Safari.

@@SyedMYahya Bro its MG ZS which has been rebranded to Astor has been test in ASEAN and Euro encap for 4star and 5star rating. Also people have their different priorities features over safety or price over safety that their choice and i am pretty sure they are well aware of that. Also tata has amazing build quality no wonder they are like tanks on road but have you heard about rusting in TATA? very often and very early stage of the car plus fit finish and after sales service sucks. They have hydraulic steerings like truck so hard even mahindra has it but its smooth and light.
Duh! It’s literally one of the safest cars in the segment currently, has scored 5 stars in EURO NCAP on the same platform.
Astor has horrible rear seats with very poor thigh support. You can't sit at the back for a long time.
Also the average is poor
If they improve the back seat comfort it will be a very good car. Amazing technology

Aise gimmick feautures😂,, ADAS is a safe feature if have option should be included, but when i can just press a button to turn on ac what is the reason for voice commands,, we have voice assistant in smartphone from around many years but still we sometimes use it

I have astor cvt sharp model, owning since aug2022. Till now driven 8800 km. I live in delhi and i took my car to jaipur and mumbai trips with my family. Very satisfied with my car. This is actually a family car not a car for enthusiastic drivers who want 0-100 kmph in less than 10 secs.
What's the mileage you getting in Delhi?
With AC on:
8-10 in bumper to bumper traffic. 12-14 in normal traffic.
16-18 in highway.

@@neellad7809 hill climbing is only good with the 1.3 liter turbo petrol engine and yes the heat is more since it is just a net
@@neellad7809AT comes with 1.3 turbo. 1.5 comes with CVT and MT. You won’t feel heat sitting under net. Believe me i drove the car in delhi’s 47 deg Celsius. It’s ac is very effective and it makes the cabin cool within 2-3 minutes
