I've owned a Honda City since 2015. Top model Diesel variant. I've been an absolute fan of it but the ground clearance issue has become a deal breaker lately. I've faced a lot of problems while traveling to the mountains and the bad patches and almost always I would end up with my front bumper getting detached from the vehicle. I love the driving dynamics of a sedan but i realize why the trend is moving towards the SUV/Compact SUV segment now. Keeping in mind the bad roads and uneven terrain across India made me go for an SUV. Ended up buying a Creta S plus knight edition. A decent VFM car!

But eventually I went ahead with CITY , and I am totally satisfied with my decision. Looks are simply woww.... Ground clearance is not that big an issue if you drive it slowly in 1st gear before the big breakers, but yeah one need to be careful. Space wise its too big. Cabin noise is very little. Have driven on hills/ghats too, its super smooth.
Proud owner of 2021 VX Manual. For point 11:40 get front parking sensors installed from dealer itself. I got it just before delivery, much help since it a loooong car.
I had white city manual top 2012 model. Clocked good 1.25 lakh kms. I never faced any issues. Its one of the most reliable car I could get at that time. I exchanged my car this year to get the new golden brown city auto top model. I got a decent value for my car considering it was almost 11 years old and had done more than a lakh on the odo. I am addicted to city. I did not even try other competitors. I love the space it offers. The front and the back seat are very comfortable. The boot space never disappoints me. My wife loves the new led lights and cvt allows her to steer through city traffic very easily. The only thing which bothers me is the music system. My old city had a better music system as opposed to the current one though. All in all its the best VFM sedan. 🎉. I love my city ❤
@@superdhanshu I am from Dehradun/Uttarakhand and I work in Gurugram/Haryana. I do agree the ground clearance is a little less and I did scratch my car belly on some occasions. Ground clearance is pathetic on the Honda City. Im scared to go over speed breakers. That's why people go for SUVs. Sadly it is not Honda's fault but our useless Engineers and municipal officials who build such speed breakers.
@@ankitkhanna3385 It's always an issue if you go with 4-5 people in the car. And on some speed breakers even with 2. And I'm talking about Mumbai City Roads. Axle will definitely hit hard on the speed breaker.

So City petrol was altogether a toy car for me to drive😊 What I didn’t like about 4th Gen City is its headlights. Night driving visibility is poor, never had such a bad experience with my 10yr of Indica Vista.

Today by God's grace I am a proud owner of 'The Honda City' 😊 During normal drive it just glides over the road like a magic carpet. The engine is not even audible. But when I put little pressure on the gas paddle, it turns into a beast and the growl of the ivtec then... oh my god. Goosebumps
@@jamesr2651 that was an issue till 4th gen.. don't know what they have done but even with same 165 mm it doesn't scarpe the bottom... You still need to be a little careful but once you get used to it it will not be a problem even on the biggest of speed breakers
The reason we cannot see the bonnet is not because its a sedan, but because its aerodynamic. It cuts the front air so the power stays same. Just for information.
This is a good video with loads of important information. I have the Honda City V 2016 model. I just drove from Mumbai to Bengaluru non-stop and had no fatigue issues. We are a family of 4, and with a full boot drove 3,300 km over ten days. The route was Mumbai , Bengaluru, Ooty, Mysuru, Coorg, Bengaluru, Mumbai. I got an average of 17.1 km/pl. It floats on road, im planning to take a new one again, for my family it became a bench mark. They want me to take a similar car if not City.
You are right about sedans. I have been using Renault Scala for 10 years, I'm not able to find a replacement. Looks like I need to wait for Renault to make a new Scala.
I am owner of Honda City 2018 edge edition iVtec. And i love its style, smoothness, respossive engine, great handeling and driving experience as compared to Verna even today. And these are the things only the owner of City can understand. People using Verna won"t.

Excellent video. I drive Honda City since last 10 yrs. Recently I have bought Honda City Hybrid 23 model. It's marvelous machine made by Japanese company. You have truly said that Honda lovers buy Honda cars repeatedly.
I love honda city althrough i didnt drive it ever but yeah I aspire it from my child hood every time i see this car my eyes automatically stick to it 😂 its my dream car
I had seltos and it was a wonderful car but then again got bored of that and bought this and trust me pals this really is the best sedan out there with the options we're left with.
I have Honda city since 2012. First 2010 than 2016. Now exactly I was thinking to move to SUV. My travel per day is 110 Kms. Also, mileage was a key. I also been told that to travel from one city to another, SUV is more safe than sedan. What is your take???
Can u explain reliability, and which are least reliable in this price range. Coz I owned Chevrolet Spark for 15yrs and 50K km (kilometres are less) but car started in one try every time in any season, engine never gave me problem, only slight inconvenience was AC gas leaked. So is this count as a reliable car or i haven't used it enough
I had Honda City 2016 model V variant. I sold it in 2024. I was a fantastic car. Now i am owning WRV top model. But still remember City & again planning to purchase new model.
I am going to buy a sedan in this range, and I tested quite a few cars, including the City. I am probably going to go for the Virtus or the Slavia. Been a happy user of the Ameo for 6 years now. City is decent, but VW and Skoda, for me, are just a notch above. The video is great!
Good choice. Honda is not a driver's car now just a reliable machine and that's it. When it comes to driving dynamics vw and skoda are top notch but careful of dsg, so always buy 5 years warranty for peaceful ownership
For Slavia/Virtus, one should opt for 1.5L engine as 1.0L engine just has 3 cyl which gives major Turbo lag under 2000 RPM. And the 1.5L one costs almost 20 Lakhs on road, without any new tech features like ADAS or Hybrid etc and hence feels overpriced.
City is a no nonsense car. Lacks modern features but compensates with reliability, safety and engine performance. It’s not easy to move away from Honda.
But having said that, I still feel Honda could’ve done much better with City. Civic is an excellent example. The car was way ahead of its time when launched back in 2006. I am a proud owner of both City 5th gen and Civic.
I love sedans. However, the challenge with sedans are their ground clearance. The chases always scrapes on Indian city roads. Repairing dents under the body of the car are an expensive affair. That is my main motive to move in the direction of SUV.
This the best Car in this segment !! I bought my dream car in 2015 and now thinking for buying current top model...the best comfort one could imagine ....❤
Honda city is a legendary car. The only thing that Honda needs to upgrade in this car is tyre width for high speed stability and ground clearance similar to Skoda Slavia. Other than that Honda City is the queen in Sedan category

We own Amaze. Trouble free car . Now tempted to add Honda City CVT strong hybrid
Amaze is the most bang for buck car in its segment
But diesel is better I own one
Went from 2011 Jazz to 2020 Honda City V Petrol MT. Did 36000 KM so far including many 500KM+ road trips across entire south India. total VFM and solid package

True.....our roads are bad and the speed breakers are sedan breakers..
I was near death in creta when a cow moved on expressway in front of me.i sold creta and bought new Verna.
@@VarunTomee-kr6nfWhich Variant?
Diesel city makes any sense, please sure your opinion. 2nd hand obviously now it's not in production.
I'm a huge of Honda City, driven both diesel and petrol varient. It's so good. Is it a review, no negatives?
Not a single one😅. Just asking...😅😅
My friend own a 2009 Honda city and trust me it sitting in honda city gave me comfort and the cabin is also a quite
Even my uncle own a 4th gen honda city
I will suggest my family to look into the Honda city
Great content, well presented...proud to be a Honda City owner since 2013!
I am planning to buy Honda City V Elegant CVT edition .. or maybe V CVT edition .. lets see what i can get at the earliest .. but now i am confident in my decision !!
Same we are thinking to buy. What else are you thinking in these price range?😅
Bought a Honda city SV, it was out of my budget but the sheer iVtec experience I got during my test drive was pure amazing. So proud of my purchase. You only live once, and hence it feels amazing driving a good reliable machine. Honda's caption is surely relevant: THE POWER OF DREAMS 😍
how much was the cost brother ? and is it petrol? what mileage u getting in city?
@@loki4171 I got it for 11.4 Lac On road (because I've taken a BH passing registration, so saved on the road tax). Yes , it is petrol , 2023 onwards, Honda isn't making diesel engines anymore. Mileage at the time of purchase(May) was showing 8.7 on MID, now after first service it shows 10.6 (which is still less, but aur badha dunga main thodi, by driving a bit clutch-free) . Hope that helps
What itta hi deti hai kya. I thought atleast 12 to 15 deti hogi city me

, every thing is awesome. Still I wish to have this .
Got my Honda City MMC 2023 last month only, its a beauty. I was initially confused between CITY and AMAZE , with family suggesting to go for amaze as its more value for money.
Hi. How much mileage don you get inside city and highways ?

What city/state are you in. The 165 mm ground clearance has me worried in bangalore!
@@superdhanshu I am from Dehradun/Uttarakhand and I work in Gurugram/Haryana. I do agree the ground clearance is a little less and I did scratch my car belly on some occasions. But I try to drive carefully navigating away from big potholes/speed breakers. The low ground clearance sometimes haunts me but the comfort of a sedan surpasses other minor hiccups. My friends have suvs/compact suvs but somehow I dont feel at home in them.
I had purchased Chevy Sail Sedan diesel in 2013. When I planned to shift to new car I was confused for the same -Compact SUV or Sedan. Being a diesel user I wanted power, control and driving pleasure. I chose Honda City in 2022. And after driving 50000 kms now, I never regretted for a once.
I have recently taken a Honda City with sunroof and adas feature it is really an amazing experience my family members were in favour of buying an SUV yet I decided to this and now we are all happy with it , it is a sedan yet so comfortable in driving as a hatchback
What's the mileage

Just want to know what was the alternative you were considering.
This is the only indian yt channel which has very good editing. Btw i used to own a 2006 city, the;i sold it and bought a city in 2014 and im doing the same thing now in 2023. *honda mein kuch to baat he*
Had 2nd gen and then 4th gen, now almost about to phase out 4th gen for an suv as ground clearance is the only thing i wish I could change. Honda has never failed me. Just love the drive city gives. Engine is as responsive after 12 years but milage has reduced from 15 to 10 in city usage.
Ground clearance is pathetic on the Honda City. Im scared to go over speed breakers. That's why people go for SUVs. Sadly it is not Honda's fault but our useless Engineers and municipal officials who build such speed breakers.
How often have you faced ground clearance issue?
@@ankitkhanna3385 It's always an issue if you go with 4-5 people in the car. And on some speed breakers even with 2. And I'm talking about Mumbai City Roads. Axle will definitely hit hard on the speed breaker.

I believe Honda City is better if travelling within city ....again I don't have much idea on cars .
I recetly exchanged 2010 honda city s for honda city hev and I am proud of my decision. The only problem I have with either of them is ground clearance 165mm is not enough for India
Yea😢
Got the delivery of this car recently. Really underrated, nothing comes close.
Well composed video! Loved the narrative on sedans especially for the Honda City 👍🏼
Things they should've included to really be in the top are:
1. Ventilated seats,
2. A better touchscreen with a nice UI, and
3. USB type-C ports for the rear passengers.
Honda City was my dream car since it launched for the first time in India. I feel most people go for SUVs because of the ground clearance.
We bought this City zx Cvt in last month. And this car is just awesome.❤ Adas ,comfort, engine just fabulous ❤

I own a 4th Gen, 2022 Honda City!
Very happy with the ownership and overall driving experience. Around 14years I was driving Indica V2 and then Indica Vista both Diesel. So City petrol was altogether a toy car for me to drive😊
What I didn’t like about 4th Gen City is its headlights. Night driving visibility is poor, never had such a bad experience with my 10yr of Indica Vista.
I used honda city 2009 for 13 years and let me tell u it was a amazing car but due to rusting issues i had to sell i have changed many cars in between but never sold the honda city because even after such long years the switch gear even the window motors were working and i had 0 engine or mechanical prbls hardly remember the car ever had to go to service for mechanical issues and the pickup was even better than my creta and mg hector even after 13 years love the machine looking forward for the new one ❤
Switched to city 5th gen in 2022 from safari and so far I don’t regret my decision.
That's what I did too. After researching SUVs for months, I zeroed in on the Honda City ZXMT
👌
I was also thinking of buying suv by watching my neighbour buying suv then I drove creta,Nexon,XUV 300, Scorpio when I took test drive I was like iam driving a truck 😂😂
I own a 2013 city Cng model has done 1.5L Km no trouble in 10 year just 1 brake down covered 1200km in a stretch no problem dream car better than big daddy’s and SUV, MUV will buy again when time comes

The only issue with ground clearance. Kind of humps on the road, chances of hitting are quite high.
The engine is the only reason why the city is still surviving and with a manual its a gem of a car.VTEC power baby😍😍

Great car, how is the ground clearance, is it any issue for high bumps or on uneven roads?
@@jamesr2651 that was an issue till 4th gen.. don't know what they have done but even with same 165 mm it doesn't scarpe the bottom...
I have taken it into remote areas of Goa, Maharashtra and Kerala where there are no roads with full boot and full PPL... You still need to be a little careful but once you get used to it it will not be a problem even on the biggest of speed breakers
Bro, what's the mileage that you're getting in City and on Highway?
The reason we cannot see the bonnet is not because its a sedan, but because its aerodynamic. It cuts the front air so the power stays same. Just for information.
The city is overall excellent but what about ground clearance??
it's enough to travel safely.. no issue @ all.. driving from more than 2 years.. went from villages to mountains.. enjoyed da drive
Looks dashing and beautiful, confused between Elevate & City.
This car is simply amazing!!!

I have always changed from a Honda City to another Honda City. 2004, 2011, 2016 (all white color) and 2022 (Silver automatic)
Prioritizing safety should be our first responsibility and driving safely as well. Great Video 👍👍
Amazing experience....some time when I feel low ...I just start my city and take some ride ...city relaxed me like mother's lap....
BIG Thanks for this video! Honda city is the best sedan ever! It’s class apart! Unmatched comfort! Unbelievable ride!
