My friend and I couldn't really take this one very seriously 😂 The production is definitely a little bit better than what I remember of most of Marauda's stuff, but conceptually it's just the same old. Something I particularly found funny about "Galumph" is that it felt like he had no idea what he wanted to do in the first half, but then suddenly had a pretty cool idea for the second half..? Man how much I love inconsistent tunes like that.
He just need to stop touring all the time. Cut the marketing bullshit on his fanpage on Fb, and just take time to produce real shit alone in his room again. This happen all the time to young producers, they want a never ending world tour.
i think that Marauda is taking out all the DJ Tools he has out there to take advantage of them, my assumption is that once he takes out all those DJ tools, he will get the best ID's from him
Like I've listened through this EP a couple of times now and imma be brutally honest, I don't understand it. Like there's no EP value here, it feels like he just hand picked 3 random tracks from his ID list and just said yeah fuck it this is an EP. There's NOTHING special about any of these 3 tunes like, at all. Really disappointed ngl.
I don't think he gets how much we loved releases like SINEWS and TOOL OF DELIRIUM. Still heavy, but also insane conceptually. A lot of people love the festival tearout style, but that's like impossible to keep varied at this point. I don't think this is a bad EP from him but it's his least eventful in recent memory.
I can't help but think about all his unreleased stuff. It's honestly underwhelming to know he could do way better but instead sticks to his usual sound and doesn't branch out with something new or at least a little different. Then again he has stated before he is scared to release stuff like that cause he doesn't know if it's good for him and if people will like them. Which is crazy cause everyone is literally wanting that rn
@@DejanDukicIt's clearly working out for him because he's selling out shows. Ravers don't care about unique ideas or good production. They just wanna have a good time headbanging.
i feel like no one does marauda's discography justice when describing him as an artist his older music (decimate + malignant ep, etc) is outdated and while good for its time mostly does not hold up - after this he evolved to a point that was quite astonishing up until the release of demagogue of oblivion and the downfall started there (excluding peanut butter and gleeful god is ight) - while demagogue had its moments it felt incredibly rushed and sounded like a mash of ids (because they were) with intros slapped onto them and all in all with little coherence this is where i get confused though because man; future stomp, ascension rite album (excluding swathe and tenebrous for me), heave, the reckoning (which is so underappreciated), sinews, laryngitis, rage room, resurgence (although i can admit second drop mixing is a bit eh), tool of delirium, realm of the damned ep, orphan of anguish, and home are all stellar but everyone seems to just gloss over them when talking about marauda as an artist and claim he is just all heavy with no real substance which is just blatantly false if you take time to actually listen through his discography (side note: i loved crown of torment when it came out but frankly it does not hold up to the rest of his releases so i didn't mention it, i feel like wall of death + casket vip + avoidable cause + blunder/blunder 2.0 [while iconic] have been over shined now but are still good) its unfortunate as he was always one of my favorite artists but his new stuff is just INCREDIBLY subpar, these past couple releases (this ep and bludgeon) have felt like bland copy and pastes with poor mixing and just so not what i think of when i think of marauda, if this was the type of music he made consistently then i would understand how a lot of people denote him as such but this is not usual for marauda at all and honestly it’s got me a bit worried for the future of him as an artist and i’m thinking he may end up fitting the shoe that everyone tries to put him in but i’m staying optimistic i had my enjoyment with primal phantom and that marauda song vip but they really feel like guilty pleasures - they just aren’t that good - and galumph has such terrible mixing that i can’t get into it that retribution tour id is pretty hard tho i won’t lie (this was a copy of my comment from another channel so don’t be surprised if you see that 💀)
I love your overview of his discography One thing I feel gets overlooked with marauda are his melody and harmony chops, sometimes he would write an intro I would want to hear as a full song without the tearout madness to juxtapose it. In fact we got that ONCE with home and it's one of my favorite bass songs. It feels like he's distancing himself from that though. While he played with really cool rhythms in his LP the melodies were sidelined. I believe this makes even his strongest drops harder to headbang to because he rushes to those drops. One of the great melody masters imo. I hope this is just a phase of his, heck we are all getting older and I can only use my experience to infer, he could be going through something right now and this is a slight red flag. We as fans couldn't do anything about it however it's easier to empathize. I'm very much speculating. I've accidentally pulled an all nighter so I'm easily talking out of my ass. I just hope someday he feels confident in his ideas again.
@@Multi-Waves_Music yeah hopefully this phase will pass and he can find more of a balance, even if we get some generic made for live show tracks i don’t mind as long as we get some pure marauda music (but honestly i feel that is unnecessary as his music prior was so good and hit live regardless, this new stuff just feels rushed and stale) - also touching on your comment on his melody work i have to agree, i think his intros play such a strong part of his music and really help for the drops to follow through when they are done well also home is god damn amazing - to me is arguably his best track (which is not at all a diss to the rest of his discography)
@@rigalicious I will defend home with my life haha, he has one ID floating out there that does another melodic bass fusion like it I can't remember the name RN but it was so gooood
he cuts off the drop in primal phantom & that marauda song vip with the exact same drum fill in both songs, i feel like his drops are great but im getting tired of every song of his being roughly 2 mins long, with the same intro and buildup, a short but great drop, another buildup copy & pasted and then another drop that maybe has a few variations and its over...and not to mention galumph being in mono for some of it and stereo for others, its happened before with nefarious if i remember correctly? its a shame, i feel like they always have the potential to be so good but not there
tbh marauda > mastadon for me even tho this ep is bit stale and not reaaly good , but the tubes he put out after that album of his are really solid baring few exceptions
I mean it’s not toooooo bad. I like some of the ideas for the drops, but I’ve definitely heard better from him. Not bad, but not necessarily amazing either
@@jacksonjames6071 I couldn’t look past he cut the final drop off tools of delirium I feel likes he’s done that with a lot of ids where the final version is worst than the unreleased version but lowkey might have to go back through with a more open mind see what I think
Galumph is basically the less impactful version of rage room just as Blugean was to Heave, Marauda is one of my favorites but recently his music has lost so much impact and intricacy.
Literally burnt out on the laziness of Marauda as of late. Like if i hear one more copy paste intro or midsection, I'm gonna lose it. Please for the love of god, either cut out releasing tunes and just become a live show producer or stop doing shows and give us something new and powerful again because this is just so underwhelming. How can I predict the structure of a song so clearly just based on the producer? It shouldnt be this hard, because we know he has clever ideas but he just doesnt care anymore. The mixing is bad, the weird obsession with making whole drops mono, the weird connection to the cookie cutter intro/midsection/outro and then the drops being either copy paste and short or slight flow switch and shorter. It's so soulless now.
This ones fine. I love Marauda but this one’s lacking. A decent amount of recent tracks have been lately but I have heard so many unreleased tracks of his that are so fire and very different from his usual big room tearout shit
Been willing to give him the benefit of doubt for a while, but it’s become so boring hearing the same template songs again and again. It’s frustrating because you’ll hear an amazing bit of new sound design sandwiched by the same copy paste arrangement we’ve heard 100s of times.
