- Still waiting for a name to stick, I am thinking Dumpy for short... Used the Kubota excavator to load the Dump truck to test it out, 2 good size loads, dumped it easily, installed a new battery, checked the diff lock switch and DUMPY IS GETTING FRISKY!

Researching online I did find l lot of new information, but Amir explains a LOT more than I knew, he has been in the business for 15 years. Plus if Bubbles in Trailer Park Boys has one, it HAS to be cool!
Don't forget you're buying a used vehicle, check it all out, they're over 25 years old! Some are in much better shape than others. Check for leaks, CV boots ripped, Loose suspension, Clutch slippage, clunks etc. Just like any used vehicle

A lot of people make the mistake of installing a battery with SAE voltage in a vehicle that requires Metric voltage.
I used SAE to Metric converter bolts

Mini Dump.... lol. funny we have a cat at our RV repair shop we call "Dumpster".. Because we found him inside ours when he was young.. Had a dog food can stuck on his head.. and was on his last legs/ lives.. Fished him out and took care of him for a day or 2 and now he is king of the shop.. Thinks he's a dog or the great Zambini.. If I am on a Ladder or doing something on top of a coach.. He has to be there. He will climb up and down ladders with ease.. lol. almost 2 years now.. Mini Dump..!!!!

If you put air shocks on Mini Dump you can install an weight gauge on the dash like a big rig. Then you'll know how much you got in the dump bed. If Mini and Dump have pups what would they look like?

With a fresh battery, that tipper (tipper that thips over? Tippy?) can suddenly get it up again. So just unhook the battery when you leave that pair alone, should be safe then.

You should attach a piece of 3/4" plywood to the bed of the Mighty Dump, it will get chewed up by the rocks etc but the bed of Mighty dump will survive!

I'm gonna hit my local Japanese Import located in Vancouver, Washington for my toy!
If I cry & beg, it'll be about 2 years until I get my "Dumpy" on. I'm looking at obtaining a Suzuki Carry 2WD with the HARD DUMP (higher capacity, like Dumpy).
Only reason for the 2WD, is so I can change out the Ring Gear in the Rear Differential so that I can safely travel at ~80MPH on the local Highway... If I could find a way to modify a 4WD, that's what I REALLY want!

Season 2 shouldn't be too long. I'm going offroading with mini and some jeeps today, so I'll have that and other footage to take with me to FL.
I've thought about the higher gearing thing.. they used to make a 2 speed gearbox for the driveshaft (I know couldn't use higher gear in 4x4) just for highways shift it up, then when in 1:1 ratio you could use 4x4 again. It would only work on the Suzuki though, hijet driveshaft too short.

The square sticker is your inspection sticker, was good till 10/31 which is October of Heisei 31= 2019, the other sticker looks to be a service sticker, (not official i believe) was due October Heisei 30 = 2018.

Yep, thats right, but they don't tell us where the truck came from. MotoCheez I think there might have been a stick in the doorwell showing a service like an oil change? That might have the name and address of a business or dealership on it, a close up steady image of that might tell us where it came from.

Look up "Corrosion Block" it's a Marine product.. Blue and white spray can.. You can spray it on anything electrical. like Dielectric grease kinda.. Lasts forever and not gunky like others..

@@MotoCheez Seriously.. Used it back in the day when I was a TowBoat US captain for 10 + years and my other Captain Yachting activities.. Sprayed my Outboard motors down with it every time I did and oil change etc. and they still looked new after 6 yeas in extreme saltwater environment.

Pro Tip - Fluid Film, Surface Shield or one of the other lanolin based underbody anti-corrosion treatments works very well to prevent corrosion of automotive battery terminals.

I like mini dump, has a nice ring to it. I went with a duel battery set up on my mini, between the dump hoist and snow plow, felt like the one battery was getting work pretty hard.

That rod is a safety device. You never work under a dump bed held up by hydraulics alone. Mechanical failure, or human error could be unfortunate......Got bids out on two different trucks

Japanese word for DUMP is DANPU.. How about DAN for short?.... To save the dump bed you could use a sheet ply about 5/8" thick absorb the hits and a sheet of tin on top of that to stop the timber from getting cut up. A method we used on 40 ton mining trucks on a bigger/thicker scale.
I had plywood in my Mule. It was so heavy to take in and out, especially when wet, have to find a plastic sheet like the big dumps have
@@MotoCheez .. Okay.. We never took ours out. Timber was sealed under the steel permanently . As you said a tho..thick HDPE sheet would do well for what you're after.
I was hoping for something I put in just to dump put 3 carriage bolts with heads sticking up a bit to slide the plastic over and hold it while I dump, I saw the trucks with the permanent bed Matt's rotted out from holding moisture.
@@MotoCheez Yes.. That's why we sealed the timber under the tin... Your idea is better... Maybe use Rivnuts/ Nutserts with Hex Socket Button Head screws so you can install and remove it easier and screw them back into the bed when not using the HDPE... Just a thought
I was hoping to hang it iff the carriage bolts that stick up a tad. The fat head would hold it on for dumping. Holes big enough to remove the hdpe

I just bought a carry and plan to add a dump bed to it,it is a 2003 DA63T with the 5 gears HI and LOW. Do you feel you need more torque when you have a load in the back? Do you wish you had a lower gear to climb hill with the extra load? I plan to go to 25 inch tires for the extra load rating and was wondering if those are gonna be too big for the truck to climb hills with a load. Thanks for the video and cant wait for the return of Mini and Maxi the dynamic duo!!!!!!

I have a F350 Powerstroke, and this still has a bigger dump bed than mine lol. Cuz I have no dump bed!!!! My point, any dump bed that works is better than no dump bed. And this mini can dump in austin powers type areas of tightness

the box sides will start to bow if you haul alot of loads.
They're built and reinforced pretty strong, I'd have to overload pretty good to bend these I would think.
