Here’s a few other mini truck videos you probably will like 👍 Here’s a video from my brother with the Honda ua-cam.com/video/0NlxADQZn38/v-deo.html Here’s another camping video I made recently. ua-cam.com/video/G0opWrJ7bFk/v-deo.html Many more on my channel as well 😊👍
Keep checking around glass places. A good glass guy can take the current windshield and make you a new one. I've seen them add just enough heat to melt the new glass just enough to lay on the old one and match the curve of it. If it is really flat, that's even easier.
Love the trucks. Maybe if you added some hooks or D-rings on the side of both trucks, you could span a tarp between them when camping. Gives you a dry spot in bad weather. Keep the videos coming.
NOW THATS proper off roading/camping. No one utilizes the mini truck/van they are so much better than UTV’S and getting to be out in snow - I’m holy jealous lol
I wisely drove under a forest road train bridge that was re-stoning and got multiple cracks on my windshield due to the golf ball sized rocks raining down on me. I ended up having a nice line that worked its way out and I was able to stop its progress with Rain-X's stuff (Permatex is probably just as good). You need to really work the fluid into the crack by *carefully* pressing on the glass to get it to seep down in. Ideally you do this inside/out of the light to prevent pre-mature curing. It's important to then use those clear films they give you to lay over the crack line (I cut mine down thin so I had enough). That film somehow activates the fluid with sunlight to cure. I did this back in September or so and the cracks haven't progressed at all through the winter.
Great glimpse into your weekend after work. Love the rugged terrain, problem solving, and passing down life experiences to a young man. I am hoping to get a Kei truck in the near future. Your videos show the great possibilities. Thank you Mike.
These tiny trucks are so cool. I would love to build one myself. At the moment with a family this would be too unpractical, so in the meantime i will gladly watch more of your videos and participate in this manner. 😊
FYI. I helped one of my camping buddies with a 1990 mini truck overland build. he Pulls a home built teardrop camper with it. Just an Idea you might want to venture into someday.
I love this truck. The green is awesome . Totally badass. Beautiful camping. Sorry to see the windshield cracked. These things are so tough and nimble. Congratulations and thank you for sharing.
Not gunna lie I’m kinda envious of your guys setup my Chevy Tracker is a little to small for winter camping. My favorite thing to do with my son is to go over landing on weekends and explore Michigans national forest. We just bring hammocks and a tent in case it rains. It’s funny my sons more excited for spring than me he asks me at least once a week if it’s morel mushroom season yet. I watch your brothers channel too and heard him mention mushroom hunting it’d be cool to see some content doing that.
Do you remember the little baggie I found on my dash when I was "fixing" my windshield with WD40 and superglue? That bag of garlic reminds me of that 😆 (sorry about your windshield RIP) Looks like fun times man, and you didn't even have to play forest janitor! Great vid, thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I wish I had one of these trucks with that set up. I so regret buying a RZR. The RZR is fun but laws here limit the use and the hurricane wrecked a lot of the trails making in even more restrictive. You guys need some FRS radios or CBs while rolling and trying to communicate. Love the content and the music. Much luv ✝️❤️🇨🇦.
you can drill a little hole thru half the windshield at the end of the crack and it will stop it from spreading then use some of your crack sealer in it.
The snow coming down at the higher elevations was so beautiful! Pretty adventurous headin up those roads in the dark with the threat of trees downing or washouts in a bad spot..but you guys seem to think things out pretty well, I'll say!
I love the idea of using 4x4 Kei truck. Thinking about doing the same. Sadly there are no such truck sold in my country, only way is to get a recondition one from Japan with higher cost than buying a brand new D-max.
a little tip for stopping a windscreen crack growing, I drill a small hole at the very end of the crack using a Dremel, then fill it with the windscreen repair glue. Works well but doesn't help when you're out bush unless you bring the Dremel.
YES ....that works...so many dont know this trick. I did this on a crack and it lasted YEARS and did not spread. Where did you learn it from? I use a small carbide drill bit ( get cheap usd ones ebay ...Circuit Brd drills) and just drill by hand until I reach the plastic layer between to to sheets of glass ( safety glass), It goes fast ..no dremel needed.
I use a Milwaukee electric chainsaw with vegetable oil. If she ever leaks there isn't a Petro smell so thats a bonus 😁 Enjoying these lil camper adventures 🤙
Another great video, like the PNW scenery and background tunes too. Sorry to see your windshield damage, if the DIY doesn't work, should be able to get a professional shop to do the stop drill and fill trick. All the best, thanks!
Your videos are fun to watch. Very cool that you, your brother and nephew get to run together! Keep the videos coming. I also really like your welding videos.
Man.. such cool little campers. Think it'd be cool to add a tarp awning out back so you can cook on the tailgate and be put of the rain/snow. Great content. Safe travels
Those kei trucks are pretty capable!! Impressive how it just cuts through snow. Gotta ask do you have a 2nd exit on your camper. I can imagine someone closing the gate and locking you in.
Yes definitely 😊👍 My brother bought a set recently, I still need to go buy some. I have been looking at some stores that sell used sets but haven’t found the right size yet.
Epic video dude! Glad you’re addressing some of the idiots who are trying to pick faults and so called design flaws in the builds by people who haven’t built anything in their lives. Trucks look amazing you’ve inspired me to make a camper box for the back of my Acty. Love the videos keep up the good work from Mike in Wales 🏴 Uk
Thanks Michael! I really appreciate your comment. You definitely should build a camper! My friend got so excited about our mini campers he started building one for his small Ford Ranger, it’s turning out pretty cool.
This new series of Kei camping videos with your brother is so good! Smart call on heading to a lower elevation. Getting rigs unstuck in snow is such a drag. So bummed about your window! Maybe MCW can get you a replacement? Thank you for sharing! Really enjoyed this one!
Thanks for checking out my new video Dan! The window is a bummer, I knew it was going to happen at some point, I just was hoping it wasn’t for many more years. I will call around some parts houses this spring and see if I can track one down. Take care buddy 😊👍
Hello! This video came across my feed as I was searching for 4WD Kei cars. Nice video! I also have a Suzuki Kei 4WD vehicle. But it is too low. What Suspension lift would you recommend??
Well, if you like the snow, you should come to North Dakota during the winter - we have an abundance of it. Though the only really hilly wooded area we have is in the Turtle Mountains, and the only other interesting terrain would be down in the Badlands. Not much interesting to look at out on the prairie and the wind can be brutal out in the open in the winter.
Hey Mike a little hint I have for you about that crack in the window... take a razor blade and start at the end of the crack...and scrape the window with it and curve it around and back to the edge of the glass towards the passenger side and if the window continues to crack it will follow the scratch you made instead of go across the window. Keep up the awesome content man, my step father in law are really wanting a mini truck now. We live in Kennewick Washington. You and your brother are awesome...
Enjoy your videos. I drive a stock Samurai 2WD everyday to work and I enjoy it. I think you put out great content AND are out doing things and thank you for sharing!
They say if you drill at the end of the crack fill it with the repair glue and the crack but they use a suction cap on one side to draw the glue through, I see it on Wish, my cousin used it seemed to work, all the best to yous and your loved ones
I've only seen a couple of your videos, but I think they're great. You guys built the perfect campers for "you". Anyone that has comment on what you should've done, probably hasn't built too much stuff. Random question for you though, which truck do you like better? The Honda or the Suzuki?
Might want to check out “Kelly Kettles” my go to for camping here in B.C.’s interior. Boiling water in around 6 minutes and a small stove when the waters boiled. A really good and compact piece of kit. Works well for canoe or truck camping.
Great video once again Mike...👍 You need to add a bracket to that tailgate to drop a big fishing brolli into, keep the rain off for cooking and brewing up ....
The adventures keep getting more exciting. Thanks Mike for the ride-a-long. Bummer about the windshield. Since they are not available at every glass shop, I wonder if there is room in the cab to keep a glass repair kit on hand? Hear the telltale sound of the rock impact, pull over, then inspect and repair if needed before it gets a chance to grow. All the best to you and your brother (and his camera assistant 🙂). 👍👍😎👍👍
Mike I was just watching another UA-cam channel and Ants Pants was giving you some props 👍he referred to you as the god of welding! I tend to agree too!
Yes Ants is great 👍 I really like his videos. I think we have been subscribed to each other’s channels for the past 7 or 8 years. We both built DIY sawmills years ago, that’s how we came across each other’s channels 😊👍
I installed a rear axle with a Diff lock. I haven’t made a video about it yet. Probably will finish up the video this spring. I wanted to cover some places that sell new and used parts for these Kei trucks. The entire axle assembly from brake drum to brake drum shipped was about $550. Not that bad for a good condition entire rear axle.
@@Mikefestiva looking forward to seeing that. My dad has a Honda just like your brother. Amazing how capable it is off road with the rear locker. I love your videos!
Those are such fun vehicles and you can do a lot with them. I am so sorry we never got the 4x4 models here in South Africa . For sure I would have had one.
Mike, if you rub dish soap on the bottom and side of your pans, it helps to keep the pans from sooting up on the outside as the soot just clings to the soap.
So cool. Started watching your channel for the builds and then found there was more, an eclectic brand of useful information all the while offering genuine entertainment. Really dig your adventures too. Thank you. Been wanting a mini truck since I first saw one about 5 years ago. If I may ask about how much should I expect to be paying for a decent one, and any tips where I should be looking? I’m in the Northwest as well as.
Thanks! I really appreciate it man 👍 I would say $5k to $7k is about what they are going for in the Northwest, right now shipping is crazy expensive, it cost about $1500 to $2000 for an importer to ship a truck because shipping is backed up right now. My brother bought his truck in Portland from Motorcycle warehouse, I would look those guys up and give them a call. I also recommend test driving some trucks so you can get a good feel for them and what you like. 👍
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy watching these little machines doing their thing. I’ve always been a fan of the “Underdogs”. I’d love to have one. Need to check my local laws here in Virginia and see if they’re “allowed” in the area. But!! Carry on guys, love the videos!!
Love these campers! My only fear would be someone closing the tailgate while I’m inside 😂 (And maybe rainwater just stacking a foot hight on the roof… 😅)
Man, I'm jealous of your camper and your adventures. You should make a rear awning, aluminum frame that rolls out to protect when you're cooking outside the back of your truck. Would be really cool build video...
I love these trucks , if i owned one i would try for some wider deep dish rims to be able to fit a wider tyre and then fit some of the rubber strip type jungle flares to help mitigate the wheel splash from the wider tyres . Would possibly try and fabricate / modify an engine bash guard / plate to bolt on under the engine , might help to stop plowing into the snow also . It's a shame Suzuki hasn't tried to develop a 1.3L turbo diesel to bolt into their 4x4 range .
I got to say that the only time ive got stuck is when i have used a 4wd both in snow and mud. My thought you get over confident with the machine. I have never got stuck with a 2wd.
Yous need a big skies put on the front so you can skie them through 😅🤣 look like fun little rigs, looks like yous had a blast, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
You should build a trailer next. That way you can haul your toys and camper. As a side benefit you'd have more build content for your channel. The Washington DOT inspection isn't a big deal if you do your homework and bring receipts. I've built a few trailers and vehicles here and never had a problem.
@@Mikefestiva 2002-2009 carry trucks diff lock only came in option .. super rare to find I just sold my 2006 carry (da63t timing chain) ( no diff lock ) in hope to find one with a diff lock.,. no luck so far !

Here in Britain we rarely get any snow and when it does we just can't cope. I've said this before, those campers are very capable in any condition.

I have never camped in the snow we don't get all that much in Australia but you look like your having a great time I'm jealous
Thanks for checking out my new video! Hopefully we can get another snow camping trip in before the weather warms up again. Take care 😊

Wish they had more upfront room
for my two pups
They make them in 4 door.
Just loving the campers. Got an Acty coming in a month or so and seriously considering a camper build
I love the kei truck camping videos. Now I want one except the kei van. I dont have space to build a camper
The vans are really cool as well, 👍 I want a van too but i have enough vehicles 😂
I love this truck. The green is awesome . Totally badass. Beautiful camping. Sorry to see the windshield cracked. These things are so tough and nimble. Congratulations and thank you for sharing.

keep this series alive i love this

yes their is a small door up front that you could get out of

Snow chains! They make a world of difference. They are easy to get over here in Japan but might be hard to get the right size in the states.
Yes definitely 😊👍

Oh God, I was waiting weeks for this. Ty for the upload.
Got some Sleet over the night, I see.
Love what you have done with your trucks
This new series of Kei camping videos with your brother is so good! Smart call on heading to a lower elevation. Getting rigs unstuck in snow is such a drag.
So bummed about your window! Maybe MCW can get you a replacement?
