That first issue looks very good, I've recently been building a space marine army so getting a captain to go with my terminators would be very very handy
I've already got that captain painted up but I'll take another 5 at that price just to use em for conversions. Can probably find a use for the Tyranid primes as well.
I have already arranged to get 38 copies of issue 1, I got 23 copies of issue 1 of imperium and I always get compliments for my immortal units because they look how immortals should.
@@timothymartin5538 That feels kinda excessive unless you're selling them, but I'm getting 5 of issue 1 for making various characters out of the terminator captains, and converting the winged primes for a Daemons of the Ruinstorm army for 30k. I haven't done owt with the Royal Wardens yet but I did get quite a few of the Bladeguard Lts converted up into various poses of Bladeguard - my friend had a ton of spares from the Bladeguard kit and I used some Blood Angels upgrades with them so considering they all have the same body they all look pretty unique.
I started like this, september 2022 and man...im still painting them by my lack of time. Also, I loved this concept so much and the game itself that I bought leviathan box (still new). Imho, is worth it all the way, just start buying paints so will be more cheap later on.

I had the Imperium Magazine subscription, so I’ll share my story. I am in the US, and I would get charged on the 17th of every month, and I wouldn’t get my package until the 10th or so the next month. You get charged extra $10 for the binders that the magazines go in. They’re nice, but not optional IIRC. Then the items would frequently be back ordered. Towards the end there must have been supply issues. I paused my subscription for 6 months because I got so frustrated with it. I was charged for a package in December, January, March, April, and May but I didn’t get them until a June 10th. This is just my experience but I had a bad time.
Honestly thinking about getting the premium subscription. Want to paint new models and ones I don't play with so I get experience painting different things. I'm getting it mainly however for the magazines. Love a good 40k fluff book
This would be a great thing for a club or LFGS to do for a group project. Get 2-3 subscriptions, and have people get different models to try out/test/learn with. At the end, would have several combat patrols for the group to use, and would make a good "loner force" for new people to try out and demo an army. Not sure if this will appeal as a purchase for an individual since there is such a wide range of factions, though. I doubt I'll be subbing to it this time around, but there's definitely a few issues I'm going to try and snag.
Re Hachette Customer Service: If you call them they're generally pretty good. My sub had a few mssing issues, but the invoice shows what has been supplied, and when i call them they had a note saying it would be sent once available. I have four issues left and the 8 issues not supplied have arrived. Generally they'll randomly turn up. Australian subscription hence why its still active.
Largely the same experience, I've been collecting hatchette series for 5 years now and have never had a single email from them, calling gets the job done just fine, and they're very pleasant

This looks really cool! I'm a slow painter and have not played Warhammer before, but this looks like a really fun way to build up a collection. Plus, as someone who loves Orks, the amount of spare gubbinz here for kitbashing looks very tempting despite the cost (at least the overall cost is over time rather than a lump sum)!
In the U. S. I really couldn't find individual issues on a consistent basis. Barnes & Noble's had few but stopped selling around issue 15. I did the subscription which was ok I kept all the SM & Necrons. Sold all the sisters, and still have all the Ad Mech which I'm planning to use for kill team. I'll have to look it over again before I make the plunge.
According to the pictures, it looks like the Tyranids CP is going to run some additional units. Parasite of mortrex and 2 swarms added to the original CP?
Fauxhammer confirmed the above pic is version 2, but there is a final version 3 that hasn't been released to the public yet. He's also heavily hinted that where the new combat patrols have been released those will be used, and NOT the old ones as previously shown.
V3 might be a sad thing then. I don't get the full GW thinking*, if they sell the current CPs with such a magazine while they could sell the old ones with new rules (also put them online) and still have the currrend ones for those who want more, after the magazine. That potentially brings Hachette in a position where they might sit on a pile of stuff that they couldn't sell as easily as the two previous 40k magazines (sure, they will sell everything plastic eventually, but not as fast). *: besides making the magazine the least possible value for existing customers, to just have new customers buying into it. More clean data to plan with for stupid statisticians that only can work with clean data or more easier marketing for those special ppl. It was allways issue 5 for the new mini, I see no reason for them to change it. You are also missing issue 81 - 90 in your savings. They are confirmed but the way they confirmed it, never stated that there are extra minis. It sounds more like they are stretching the content from 80 to 90 issues.
Making the Prime to Warrior is a cool idea, although i was thinking of making them to Ravegers. Way easier and very needed in the current meta. Its a shame that they don´t launch in my country at the same time.
I still have some of the terrain and all of the sisters sprues from the last subscription to go through. I will try to pick up a specific issue here and there, but no sub from me this time.
If the upsell on 2nd hand markets isn't too bad it is still a good deal. Got quite a lot of models that way. For instance Robute for €22,50. The seller makes 2,50 profit while i got a very discounted, new on sprue, Primarch. Very nice imo.
@@m33ddyhv market forces pretty much - they go on shelves the first few weeks effectively to advertise them and attract passing custom. After a few issues most people who are going to buy it regularly will have either subscribed or put in a request for a weekly copy with a shop. It's not going to be worth most mainstream retailers' while stocking it for 90 issues, as many weeks will go unsold.
I thought judging by previous editions they would have used the plastics from leviathan with a few extra units and terrain this when it was announced was a surprise and with paint issues it means better value as they need to compact a combat patrol with a extra unit per 10 issues
Think it works out as a combat patrol across 7-8 issues and up to 5 paint issues per quarter, so it is quite dense, the paint is a bit of a rip off at that price, but that's how they balance it
Cant wait, I'm still on the stormbringer sub from them right now, missed out on imperium and mortal realms 😢 This one doesn't look like as big a saving as stormbringer though it will make a nice step towards my dream of all the combat patrols, always enjoyed partworks ever since I was a kid collecting the toy car subscriptions ✌️😊
I contacted them about an Australia release and they said that, as yet, they have no plans to release in Aus. So, no idea if it will or will not come down under.
I’m one of those weird ones who has every army but orks and guard between me and my son. And the guard and can be battle brothers. So I’m very interested especially with alot of those older combat patrols going the way of the dodo.
My Imperium Magazine Subscription has been a goldmine for painting fun. Sure it's taking a good while to get through it all but damn does it feel good each time I knock out another unit. That said, the process of getting it all was a bit painful. Hatchette had a some really crappy shipping partners here in the US and getting the magazines were a pain at times. Also, their web portal looks like it was designed in the 90s and then built to be as useless as possible.
They get the Master of posession out of the magazine and in the New combat patrol is a Master of posession. Maybe this means in the New astra militarum combat Patrol is a commissar and in the New aeldari a autarch. So people buying the magazine can Upgrade their armys with the New combat Patrol, withou having any Charakter twice
I'm a bit slow and new to warhammer. so how does this work. You pay for a subscription and every week get the new "box" for lack of better terms. So is it an all or nothing type deal where I have to get every single week or can I choose to say get week 1 skip week 2-3 and get week 4?

I'm going to be subscribing. Will probably just sell the stuff I don't want, but it's a nice way to build up some small forces and try painting some new factions I haven't tried before
I'm still not a big fan of the 40k rules, but the combat patrol system is my favorite thing that GW is doing so far. I tend to treat it like a board game. Just pick the pre-made army and jump right into playing. I will definitely be subscribing to this when it reaches the US.
I wonder if this third iteration of magazine would be less successful than the previous ones. I personally liked the Imperium because of the focus on a small number of armies (Space Marines, Necrons, Sisters and Mechanicus), not sure this one is that appealing as a subscription since it is all over the place. Would be fun to see what happens!

My guess is since there's 90 issues & 9 combat patrols each combat patrol & it's corresponding extra model will take up 10 issues. From what i've previously read they intend for us to have 2 complete combat patrols by issue 20 so since the first 2 patrols' models to come out are the Marines & Nids i'd say they will be what we'll have by 20. This is when i'd say we'll get the first premium kit box. After that i'd say they'll keep splitting 2 at a time so we have the next 2 combat patrols by 40 with their premium kits box at 40. Since the 2nd premium box shown is Banshees & a Daemon Prince the armies will be Eldar & Chaos. Then 60 for the next 2 with their premium at 60. Box 3 is Orks & Leagues of Votan. Then for the last 3 patrols they'll either split them over the last 30 issues or they may continue the theme & have 2 more patrols by 80. This will be Genestealer Cults & Imperial Guard as they are the last premium kits box (we'll get the last premium kits at 80 if they do it like last time) & the last 10 being the World Eaters. If you look at the way the premium kits are boxed i'd say this is probably the way they'll go. There's only 8 premium kits shown so far with nothing specifically World Eater related (Chaos get a Daemon Prince) so hopefully they'll add something for them. Personally i'd have preferred Dark Eldar to Space Dwarves & the Dark/Blood Angels box to the basic Space Marines but over all it's not a bad selection imo. Hopefully they stick with the combat patrols shown & not switch out to the new versions as the older ones are better value for money & tend to have a big centerpiece model or in the case of Genestealers lots of good troop units since they are a horde army & that's what they need.
Certainly looking at getting multiple copies of the Von Ryans Leapers. 3-5 to max out the squads. Probably same with Termagants, if you get a full 10 an issue. Will be worth it. These magazines are a great way of building up a collection of paints etc. So I will probably subscribe at the premium. The marine side is a little meh, as I already have Leviathan and the other models. Hopefully they might have some terrain at some point.
Being a modeller/painter I'll certainly be dipping into the mag but on an issue-by-issue basis; I'm largely uninterested in all of the actual armies on offer but there's a fair few individual units or characters that I want to make and paint, so honestly a bit sad to see the swap-outs from the initial list. Still plenty of stuff to grab as and when, though. And that first issue is an absolute no brainer.
Glad to have more people in the hobby but I already have more plastic than I know what to do with. When you have 5k of unpainted Guard, probably best to do something about that then get new stuff

Could someone explain to my small brain how the premium models are gotten, is it for simply having a premium subscription or for having it over a set period of time?
The premium subscription is only available if subscribing from Hachette directly. You pay an extra £2 per week and then after 20 weeks/ £40 you get the first set of premium models (Tyranids and SM) sent out to you, then after another 20 weeks the second set, then after another 20 weeks the 3rd set and the same for the 4th (80 weeks). If you cancel the premium subscription at any time you get a refund for the set you havent fully paid up for.
As someone who bought every issue of the trial run, the magazine is worth considering, though I'll just be sticking with the hachette website or what I can find in shops rather than subscribing. Smiths had the trial run and many of the magazines were still left even weeks later, same with stormbringer for AoS. As these become more available they'll depress ebay prices so even if you can't get a magazine you'll still be able to find the minis online at a better than usual discount
I'm really taken with this idea but I'm rather picky about my Factions. I like that you get a bit of everything, its fun to experiment but in the long term I have no interest in say GSC. I don't really know what to say, I'm feeling whimsical enough to do it, but dont really know what I'd do with it all haha😂
Just WISH they would come to Scandinavia too , but Hachette Partworks seems really afraid of Vikings and scared to sell even the English version to us. I would gladly take a Premium Sub if they did.
I remain bewildered who this is aimed at. It seems great for getting individual units for your specific army, but a whole bunch of mostly incompatible (in gameplay terms) basic infantry and small vehicles, with no eyecatching centrepieces, doesn't seem an appealing draw for new players and will be of limited use for most established ones, who'll usually have that stuff for their army. Combat Patrol has already failed as a game mode, but even if it hadn't who is going for a full subscription just for several options to choose between?
Yeah, you would have to want *all* of this for it to be worth it. If there's something you don't want or something you already have, you'd have to rethink how your money is being spent.
Forbidden planet has jumped the gun with this. Fauxhammer has already said that this is not the final plan. Release date is also a guess, theybe just been greedy ti get Preorders in, they dont actually know anything. Until confirmed but hatchette or Fauxhammer this is all speculation and subject to change. Looking forward to this though, subbed months ago to premium. Looking forward to certain issues like von ryans, boomdakka snazzwagon and sentinels to name a few.
I may pick up the odd issue on occasion but I'll broadly give this a miss, too much stuff I wouldn't want and not enough stuff I'd actually use. Nice for newer players though.

You will be overwhelmed by the amount of minis. I would say you at least try it with a handfull of models before you pull the trigger on this.

Just try the introduction set or a paint/mini set and buy a brush and give it a go

I doubt they will change the box that is for sale, but maybe new rules will require you to buy the parasite model.
@@StevenGregersenI don't think you'll be able to use mortrex in standard combat patrol. Each issue usually has a scenario with random models.

Issue 5 has always been the exclusive in every previous Hachette 40k/AoS magazine series so I'd be shocked if it weren't the new Infernus sculpt.

Generally only the first 4-8 issues get widely stocked and then they disappear from shelves / largely become subscription only.

WH Smiths always stock it but eBay scalpers will come in and clear the shelf if it's a good week

They get the Master of posession out of the magazine and in the New combat patrol is a Master of posession.
Maybe this means in the New astra militarum combat Patrol is a commissar and in the New aeldari a autarch. So people buying the magazine can Upgrade their armys with the New combat Patrol, withou having any Charakter twice
I'm a bit slow and new to warhammer. so how does this work. You pay for a subscription and every week get the new "box" for lack of better terms. So is it an all or nothing type deal where I have to get every single week or can I choose to say get week 1 skip week 2-3 and get week 4?

Don't suppose someone can tell me what I should maybe do here, I am interesting in collecting the set as a fun way to spread my interests and have somethign to do every moth. I see you can currently pre order individual magazines on Forbidden planet but I would rather just subscribe to something. IS that coming? Is there some official post I have missed with details etc?
With the price of guard infantry in aus I'll take any saving i can get and if its cheap enough i might get multiple
I'm going to be subscribing. Will probably just sell the stuff I don't want, but it's a nice way to build up some small forces and try painting some new factions I haven't tried before
I'm still not a big fan of the 40k rules, but the combat patrol system is my favorite thing that GW is doing so far. I tend to treat it like a board game. Just pick the pre-made army and jump right into playing. I will definitely be subscribing to this when it reaches the US.
I wonder if this third iteration of magazine would be less successful than the previous ones. I personally liked the Imperium because of the focus on a small number of armies (Space Marines, Necrons, Sisters and Mechanicus), not sure this one is that appealing as a subscription since it is all over the place. Would be fun to see what happens!

With combat patrols getting worse, combat patrol is getting better lol. Sad that it seems it won't exist in my country.

My guess is since there's 90 issues & 9 combat patrols each combat patrol & it's corresponding extra model will take up 10 issues. From what i've previously read they intend for us to have 2 complete combat patrols by issue 20 so since the first 2 patrols' models to come out are the Marines & Nids i'd say they will be what we'll have by 20. This is when i'd say we'll get the first premium kit box. After that i'd say they'll keep splitting 2 at a time so we have the next 2 combat patrols by 40 with their premium kits box at 40. Since the 2nd premium box shown is Banshees & a Daemon Prince the armies will be Eldar & Chaos. Then 60 for the next 2 with their premium at 60. Box 3 is Orks & Leagues of Votan. Then for the last 3 patrols they'll either split them over the last 30 issues or they may continue the theme & have 2 more patrols by 80. This will be Genestealer Cults & Imperial Guard as they are the last premium kits box (we'll get the last premium kits at 80 if they do it like last time) & the last 10 being the World Eaters. If you look at the way the premium kits are boxed i'd say this is probably the way they'll go. There's only 8 premium kits shown so far with nothing specifically World Eater related (Chaos get a Daemon Prince) so hopefully they'll add something for them. Personally i'd have preferred Dark Eldar to Space Dwarves & the Dark/Blood Angels box to the basic Space Marines but over all it's not a bad selection imo. Hopefully they stick with the combat patrols shown & not switch out to the new versions as the older ones are better value for money & tend to have a big centerpiece model or in the case of Genestealers lots of good troop units since they are a horde army & that's what they need.
Id like it if they delivered like that, I think those match ups are inline with recent lore too which would be content for the magazine
Certainly looking at getting multiple copies of the Von Ryans Leapers. 3-5 to max out the squads. Probably same with Termagants, if you get a full 10 an issue. Will be worth it. These magazines are a great way of building up a collection of paints etc. So I will probably subscribe at the premium. The marine side is a little meh, as I already have Leviathan and the other models. Hopefully they might have some terrain at some point.
Being a modeller/painter I'll certainly be dipping into the mag but on an issue-by-issue basis; I'm largely uninterested in all of the actual armies on offer but there's a fair few individual units or characters that I want to make and paint, so honestly a bit sad to see the swap-outs from the initial list. Still plenty of stuff to grab as and when, though. And that first issue is an absolute no brainer.

Glad to have more people in the hobby but I already have more plastic than I know what to do with. When you have 5k of unpainted Guard, probably best to do something about that then get new stuff

Could someone explain to my small brain how the premium models are gotten, is it for simply having a premium subscription or for having it over a set period of time?
The premium subscription is only available if subscribing from Hachette directly. You pay an extra £2 per week and then after 20 weeks/ £40 you get the first set of premium models (Tyranids and SM) sent out to you, then after another 20 weeks the second set, then after another 20 weeks the 3rd set and the same for the 4th (80 weeks). If you cancel the premium subscription at any time you get a refund for the set you havent fully paid up for.

As someone who bought every issue of the trial run, the magazine is worth considering, though I'll just be sticking with the hachette website or what I can find in shops rather than subscribing. Smiths had the trial run and many of the magazines were still left even weeks later, same with stormbringer for AoS. As these become more available they'll depress ebay prices so even if you can't get a magazine you'll still be able to find the minis online at a better than usual discount
I'm really taken with this idea but I'm rather picky about my Factions. I like that you get a bit of everything, its fun to experiment but in the long term I have no interest in say GSC.

Just WISH they would come to Scandinavia too , but Hachette Partworks seems really afraid of Vikings and scared to sell even the English version to us.

I remain bewildered who this is aimed at. It seems great for getting individual units for your specific army, but a whole bunch of mostly incompatible (in gameplay terms) basic infantry and small vehicles, with no eyecatching centrepieces, doesn't seem an appealing draw for new players and will be of limited use for most established ones, who'll usually have that stuff for their army. Combat Patrol has already failed as a game mode, but even if it hadn't who is going for a full subscription just for several options to choose between?
It'll be 40-50 issues before my faction gets a model.

Yeah, you would have to want *all* of this for it to be worth it. If there's something you don't want or something you already have, you'd have to rethink how your money is being spent.

Release date is also a guess, theybe just been greedy ti get Preorders in, they dont actually know anything.
