@@blutreyy1388 yep - the smooth warmth of one of the drive sounds in particular, is a wonderful tonal counterpoint to the bridge coils of a Strat or Tele. My lil' strat can be blistering some days thru the diminutive 12!
I love how you’re the only guy to start posting videos about questions I’ve had for months, yet you post them like a weeks late 😂. I bought the Crush 20 and it’s great. Definitely the right choice.
I bought the Crush 20RT (same as 20 just with reverb and tuner built in for those who don't know) after not playing for nearly 10 years. Back then I played an old Peavey Triumph 120 half stack which I miss dearly but I absolutely love the cleans on this and the distortion is definitively Orange. I feel like I am going through a music renaissance and this amp is getting me out of my old habits of doing nothing but jamming along to Metallica every time I pick up my guitar. The tones make me want to play and create other jams. I am super glad I went with the 20.
The 12 doesn't even have an aux. Screw these amp companies and their bad products. 95% of amps are never leaving the house. It's 2023, no amp should be without multiple ways of streaming and putting things online. An amp doesn't need to be only 99 bucks, make it 150 and make it actually useful for something. This can't play with a drummer and can't do anything technical. It's a stupid product. The 60s are over, stop making paper weights Orange.
Hi, I bought the 20 based on your reviews and comparisons. This amp is awesome, great quallity clean and dirty tones. Very impressed for the money. I would highly recommend this amp.
Fantastic content! I was hesitant about which one of these tiny beast to buy, I stumbled upon your channel and you answered basically every question I had. Right to the point, no useless bs: you earned yourself a subscriber. Keep up the good work and your numbers will skyrocket!
Great review, thanks man! Answered my questions, glad this was the top Google search result for the comparison haha! I'll be picking up the 20 due to more options, but the 12 seems to be good for a solid budget amp too!
Great comparison. I have other amps including tube amps. I just want to add one of these to practice at home at low volume. Is the crush 12 too low on the clean volume? I am not looking to blast as I have other amps that can do that. I am just looking for decent volume for bedroom jams.
The 20watter clean was much more clean and superior, probably due to the inherent headroom advantage as well as the clipping diodes not interfacing as much. I liked aspects of both on crunch/overdrive tones.
For me ... to get portability I purchased the Orange Mini 3w and the 20w Orange Extention Cab and presto I have a 20w Orange amp with built in tuner that i can use at home or busking or in a small gig like a bar or coffee shop. All powered by my rechargeable power bank that charges both my pedals and my Orange Mini. And they both can fit into my backpack.
Honestly, the only feature that actually annoys me in practice with my Orange Crush 12, is the lack of a phone input so I can play a backing track, otherwise Im happy that I went for the 12W, especially after getting it for 70€
Not to be that guy, but basically everyone I know has a small 1-4 inch 1x2 Bluetooth speaker for thier phone. Those work for backing tracks quite well. I use mine w/ a headphone amp for extra quiet practice when I don’t want to wear headphones
I like the 12's OD knob, gives the tone a little Klon-like sweep for enhancement. Still need a Klon though to get transparent boost. The 12 to me would make for a nice home studio amp. It's Orange's version of a Fender Champ. The clean settings take to pedals to get more out of the box. But back to the 6.5 inch speaker that just isn't 8, 10 or 12 inch driver. Don't know if the class D power section at 12W RMS is going to drive a larger speaker either. Modding it would get to a 20+W version, but the other functionality would be missing. For a external cab output mod, that might make it more versatile. And then there's always trying to fit an 8 inch speaker into the combo. 6.5 vs 8 inches is really 3/4 inch top & bottom for radius, there seems to be more than enough side to side on the cabinet. Depth dimension of the combo could also be an issue. Obviously a new purchase it makes more sense to buy the 20, but a used preowned purchase, it's a solid amp for being the 12 that it is, with next size up potential mods.
Love the video, but you want it loud an clean then use a pedal like a Caroline Tantrum. Seems like con pro always diss a product just plug in play but. With pedals you can do more with the crush 12.
I enjoy comparison videos, and yours are ok for the most part. You know what i DON'T enjoy? People interrupting their own videos with advertisements for the channel.
The crush 20 clean tone can get much louder. I am discussing that in my next video if you are interested in hearing that. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hey , I have not long bought the blackstar id core v3 20w , would there be much difference in this and the crush 20 ? I'm think of feeding a new amp for a different part of the house ( although I could just get a power lead carry the AMP and just plug it in !!) I'm just curious on the difference? Cheers
I really need to get a hold of the Blackstar id core v3 to check it out. I don't know much about that amp, so i can't give you an informed opinion. Thank you for watching and commenting!
ID Core and Orange Crush are two completely different beasts. Orange is Analog, ID Core is digital. Orange has a ton of mids, ID Core is very scooped. I personally didn't like the sound of the ID Core at all but I really love the Crush series (I've owned the 20, 35 and 60). They're an acquired taste though definitely try one in person first if you can.
New Cube GX is great and even better than the original. You can get a much brighter, more open sound because of the separate volume / master volume knobs. It is a completely different beast from the Orange amps though. Those are fully analog and sound absolutely nothing like the Cube. One's not better they're just different
I've been playing since the early 1970's...I'm now 65...and throughout all these years...I've played through every known Amplifier known to man!...It is my opinion only....that 'ORANGE' Amplifiers sound ...and always have sounded like....'Dog-Shit'!....'CRAP'!..... (with a Capitol 'F'!)
Sir, you talk too much between amp sound. Again, just do the talking then play on one, then immediately the other. So much easier to compare sounds that way. Humans lose the ability to perfectly compare sound very quickly. Thanks for the reviews. If you would stop talking between amp comparisons on the same type sound it would help.

Does the Orange Crush 20 good for Stratocaster guitars? I play rock songs btw

Thank you for watching and commenting! I am glad you like the Crush 20. Also, I am trying to release videos more quickly! Please stay tuned!
I have a 20RT coming to me soon. Hope it's as good as you say the 20 is. Haven't played in 20 years.

Any experience with the 35rt?

I was looking for this very video, thanks for making it man.
I was given a 20 for free. Great amp, the look and clean sound.
Honestly, the only feature that actually annoys me in practice with my Orange Crush 12, is the lack of a phone input so I can play a backing track, otherwise Im happy that I went for the 12W, especially after getting it for 70€
I think it is a cool little amp and I am glad you are happy with it! Thank you for watching and commenting!

Great overview as always! You should do a video on how to play that guitar riff you used in this video.
Thanks Benjamin! I will definitely think about doing that. THANKS for watching and commenting bro!
I never saw this video before buying a Crush 20. I don't regret buying it at all.

I like the 12 so far. I may upgrade to the 20 later... Or try the Micro Terror head.
Fantastic. Easy for me to decide after watching this video 👍👍
Thanks! I'm buying the crush12, thanks for the review it helped me a lot
I am glad I could help! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hiya. How this little amp gives the natural sound of the guitar? Do old guitar strings affecting the guitar soznd?
Love the video, but you want it loud an clean then use a pedal like a Caroline Tantrum. Seems like con pro always diss a product just plug in play but. With pedals you can do more with the crush 12.
That is a good point! One of my goals for this channel is to do pedal reviews and amp with pedal reviews!

Hello!! Please, I have a question, how do they react to lower pitches ? Like bass sound
I got a Blackstar HT-R5, and I don't know if it's better than a orange crush 20.
I enjoy comparison videos, and yours are ok for the most part. You know what i DON'T enjoy? People interrupting their own videos with advertisements for the channel.
Can I use the pod go with the 12?
Make a video - combination of ibanez gio and orange crush 12
Man if only the crush 20 could still be had for $130
good shit man
Thank you!
So is the crush 20 able to do the same clean tone as the 12 but louder before breaking? I assume yes but I'd love to know for sure.
The crush 20 clean tone can get much louder. I am discussing that in my next video if you are interested in hearing that.

is that a 20rt or a normal 20?
The normal Orange Crush 20. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Realy helpful, thanks! Btw can't decide which one I want... Probably i'll gonna buy both😅🙈
What about Roland Cube ?
I loved the old Roland Cube I tried out YEARS ago, but I don't know anything about the newer ones! Thank you for watching and commenting!

Братан, ты одним предложение дал понять, что мне нужен crush 20, а именно тем, что он имеет два канала
the 12 seems to have the magic, support small businesses that pay their taxes
Блин, всё равно трудно решить
Don't they have reverb
No. You would have to get the 20rt or 35rt to get reverb. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Not a fan , I believe the tone of Marshal amps out perform orange across the board
Nope
Bought the 12, what a piece of trash. Get a used Hugh and Kettner combo, does everything better and is possibly cheaper.
Damn for real? I was just about to buy one.
