If these are the praises on earth, can you imagine the joy of the praises in heaven before our Lord and Saviour??????
When we've been there 10,000 years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days
To sin God's praise
Than when we first begun
❤️
Somehow I know that when we gather round God's throne and sing praises to the king we are going to be blown away.
One of my very favorite hymns. Thinking about all of my brothers and sisters in Christ who have sung this for hundreds of years…. Will be singing it together with them someday in heaven! Worshipping the LORD forever!
The hymn was written in 1907 using Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" from the fourth and final movement of his Ninth Symphony (1825).
@@locolyn I couldn’t find any information to back up your comment. That said, I’m not a musical expert. I just love the song and feel the closeness to my brothers and sisters in Christ who have sang it no matter how many years before and through eternity to come. Thank you for your input.
And this is September 5, 2024. And I just came across this gem of praise and divine joy. May the Lord lift me from the sorrows of sin to the joy of holiness.
Amen.

"Joyful music leads us sunward, in the triumph song of life." got me really teared up. So strong and powerful.
Growing up in a Lutheran church this one of my favorite hymns as a child and I still love it today
That’s funny because I’m fairly sure many Christian churches didn’t take well to Beethoven back in the day 🤣
@@mookiestewart3776Beethoven was a progressive who embraced the values of the renaissiance. The church didnt like that. His work though, belongs to all mankind. Its just too good to ignore!
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee,
God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flow’rs before Thee,
Op’ning to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
Drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day!
All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
Earth and heav’n reflect Thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around Thee,
Center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flow’ry meadow, flashing sea,
Singing bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in Thee.
Thou art giving and forgiving,
Ever blessing, ever blest,
Wellspring of the joy of living,
Ocean depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our Brother,
All who live in love are Thine;
Teach us how to love each other,
Lift us to the joy divine.
Mortals, join the happy chorus,
Which the morning stars began;
Father love is reigning o’er us,
Brother love binds man to man.
Ever singing, march we onward,
Victors in the midst of strife,
Joyful music leads us Sunward
In the triumph song of life.
Thanks for the text!

Can we command The Most Loving and The Most Powerful God with the word "PLEASE?"
For example: "Teach us how to love each other."
Can we make this imperative sentence into subjunctive sentence? "Please teach us how to love each other."
I am thinking of talking to the people in the public places.
Public speakers usually say:
"Please fasten your seatbelt!"
"Please turn off your beepers and cellphones!"
"Please don't disturb!"
The word "Please" is a sign of respect to one another.
Can we use this word whenever we ask for something from The Most Perfect and The Most Powerful Creator?
He is More Important and Most Powerful than any human in this world.
And I think, He deserves all respect in the whole universe for He owns it, not us.
He requires respect:
"If I am A Father, where is the respect due to Me?" - Prophet Malachi 1:6

Let's help edit prayers from imperative mood to subjunctive mood...!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!! WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS CRISIS !!! !!! !!!
Nope. This is just the beginning. It will get worse. These are just the birth pains.
So beautiful how everyone sings sounds like listening to it from heaven
Most genius work of man ever…
Yet in heaven, how much more joy???
A genius sublime work, a mere shade and jot and scribble to Gods infinite joy.
...teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine.
I was checking the comments then i saw this comment and while i read it they sing the line.
I love this sound, my Law assignment due, my computer crashing on me, I need peace of mind. This is how I am bless during chaos. Thank you for original sound.
ALL Hymms that i had to endure when i was a child, but when i became a believer, they spoke to me, and i absolutely love the music of the Lord.
Thank you Lord that you knew me before You formed me in my mother's womb.(Jeremiah 1:4 )
One of our wedding hymns! Joyful on that day and every year for 47 years. Joy which comes from Heaven above! Thanks be to God!
I love this song,it is so uplifting, i feel the peace and rejoice in the glory of God
How fun to sing with such a large group. Excellent.
One of my favorite hymns beside Christ the Lord is Risen Today. I love the ones where the proper singing volume is "as loud as possible" because they're so upbeat it's impossible to sing them any other way. :)
This is the most inspiring musical piece ever
We just sang two verses of this hymn ending Mass today. I'm going to get an earpiece with my phone and play this quietly in the pew as I pray to the Son of God at Eucharistic Adoration next month. I think it would please Jesus.
This is just wonderful! What a great, uplifting hymn. So neat to have been there to sing along! Wow!
This piece brings tears to my eyes. We all bleed the same colour. We are all human.
I would like this a my funeral. Sing at the top of heaven!
THis presentation is excellent but check out the one by Andre Rieu I think it was his concert in Mastritch talk about standing and singing at the top of your lungs.
Bravo to all who bring music to the people of earth so we can PRAISE Our CREATOR.

Just heard this song today when I hooked on to our church The Apostolic Faith Church in Portland Oregon. I'm so thrilled to hear the words of the song. God is faithful.
All generations shall call me blessed, for He who is mighty has done great things for me and Holy is His name.
Joyful, joyful, we adore thee
God of glory Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee,
Opening to the sun above
Such a beautiful song, could fall asleep listening to it..God bless the singers..
Oh!What a happy joy that I see Lord God we praise YOU and Your are Greatest of all so we are worthy to receive our glory and honour. Amen.
I can't help but be in a good mood after listening to this.
Same here! There's something about the Royal Albert Hall that brings out joyful singing performances from all present. Dominus Vobiscum.
MAGNIFICENT brought tears to your eyes just think what it did for HIM
Let us always remember GOD is GREAT
very powerful, it nudges the intuitive knowledge of a universal consciousness that we ought to be aware of every minute, the manifester of all things, never discriminating, never judging, never intervening in the actions of the finite bodies and minds, never born, never dying, awaiting the end of its confusion and identity with the 'I' until its release back to the source of peace, unknowing, and love.
Not the Love in God brought me here, but the believe in God of Love, Light and Creation. It is a perfect tune for celebration and it has the charge to share and deliver the Joy flowing from and radiating to our Hearts.
Thank you O God for a wonderful composer who gave us a wonderful song!
Such an upbeat presentation of a beautiful hymn. It makes one feel the joy of believing
May there never be a world where this melody, or the One who is described in the lyrics, is forgotten!
National Anthem of the EU
But bring tears to anyone who loves music inspired by GOD and dictated to the great masters in this case Beethoven.
Can you imagine when Betthoven passed on and went up what HE did.
I bet HE came down from HIS chair embraced him and said the greatest words a Father can say to a child, Well Done My SON, Well DONE.

Such a Blessing to view this beautiful worship.
Oh Lord God! Thank you for making Ludwig van Beethoven with fantastic music talent and making one who jaf translated the lyrics to English with such a talent.
I have been to Royal Albert Hall Praise, it is wonderful to be praising God with so many believers. God bless all
Brittons singing the European hymn, what a joy.
Stars and angels as well all the happy folk do sing. Magnificent chorale.
Proof that music is in the soul and those who love music are truly blessedp
To people who are complaining/comparing with the original version, why can't you just enjoy the song??
Exactly. There are many lyrical interpretations of Ode to Joy. Peter Seeger does a kind of secular version. They are all wonderful, using this magnificent piece of music. Hopefully there will be many more over the centuries to come.
I thoroughly enjoy both, as well as Mozart's K222, which may/may not have provided the launch point for Beethoven's "Joy" theme.
It's very simple. This is NOT "Ode to Joy". It is a hymn which uses the MUSIC from "Ode to Joy", but it is not "Ode to Joy".
@@protoborg Agreed. It began as a secular poem, if I recall right. Beethoven: _"hold my beer..."_
Enjoy all the british people singing so beautifully together. To all the british people that sang this hymn/ song Thank You from an American.
Always great and uplifting to listen to Ode to Joy when things are gloomy. Magnificent Ludwig.
Jesus bless you Christie. It shows that prayer, hymns and teaching can come alive in a non believer! Praise God. Amen?
well, and if not they can burn in agony for eternity that will teach them not to believe in my love and mercy.
St John 3:16! 💞
JESUS is RETURNING SOON! ALLELUIA! 🙏🙌
Ode to Joy is wrapped around 528hz solfeggio frequency, which is the love frequency. NASA says the sun radiates 528, as do the bees and some birds. Dolphins must have a connection as they emanate joy. Truly His handiwork will praise Him if man won't, sadly.True praise is objective.......
This has always been my favourite hymn, it always seems to cheer me up, & give me some new hope & inspriration!
This work is beautiful, magnificent, and inspired by the Lord.
Imagine what it will be like when all the holy angels and all the saved will sing to the glory of God in heaven.
penso no grande dia em que céus e terra serão a mesma grei, onde milhares e milhares estarão louvando Aquele que É Rei dos reis e Senhor dos senhores!!!!
LOVE IT. MUST HEAR IT EVERY DAY. MUSIC FROM GOD.
I sometimes wish i was a christian because of this hymn
Just listen to the original then. Ode to Joy is not a christian hymn. The original german text by Friedrich Schiller does not contain a reference to Christ. It is intentionally more universal en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ode_to_Joy

Any time I feel a bit 'low' I put Beethoven 9th CD on. Listening to this beautiful composition would humble anyone. Yes, thank you Beethoven
Its 2022 Great britain. Still beautiful listening this
Nah, they'd never let us back in. They'd have to offer us all our opt-outs and rebates plus some sweeteners for us to even consider it. And fanatics like Verhofstadt will never allow that.
1:21 - 1:35 is glorious. Glory to God in the highest, the only One worthy of our praise.
This and “All Things Bright and Beautiful” are my two favourite hymns. Thank you Ludwig van Beethoven for composing this wonderful tune. 😊
Made my day ...... childhood school memories never forget 👍👍👍
He who sings, prays twice. 😇
Perhaps the greatest record in the history of music and mankind.
Powerful indeed. What a melody! Beethoven did a great job.
The lyrics are extremely rich in deep, inspiring, theological meaning! An astounding, majestic work!
One of my favorite hymns. It was well performed.
Frank Eggers anytime I hear this song/Symphony I cry like a batch that has been pimpslapped by her lover.
Seriously though, I love this song. It is pure peace and joy on my humble opinion! :-)
The EU Anthem, Beethoven's Ode to Joy, is an absolute masterpiece!
This beautiful hymn from the American poet Henry van Dyke was so aptly adapted into Beethoven's greatest symphony, Ode to Joy. Bravisimo.
Amazing classic! Praise God 😊🙏🏽
Beautiful rendition. The joy of the LORD Jesus remains the strength of the righteous. For out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, God has ordained strength to avenge the enemy and seal the mouth of the wicked!
Aware presence is in us all, pristine, unblemished, none - judgemental, the silent watcher. There is no enemy, nothing is good or bad, it just is, everything in the cosmos is connected, when something happens it is because it can be no other way, acceptance of what is in place of dogma and bigotry brings peace. The great teachers, Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, Sri Ramana Maharshi, could never teach the state of enlightenment, they could only give glimpses which the powerful decided to 'organize' and debase. It was from this frustration that Jesus said, ''They have eyes but cannot see, they have ears but cannot hear, they do not understand''. Religions have made a mockery of the great teachings, they were only meant as pointers, the truth is for you yourself to find, it sits still waiting in you (the kingdom of heaven is not here or over there it is within you) beyond the ego, beyond the artificial 'me'.
I can't wait to worship the Lord in heaven. Goosebumps
beautiful!this is how this hymn should be done, men and women doing their bits and all praising our wonderous god. he surely inhabits the praises of his people, I could tell the holy spirit was present here, it sends a cold shiver down you to hear this glorious hymn!thank you for posting this beautiful piece. bobby whitaker
This Hymn is a disgrace. Turning the celebration of humanity into a celebration of God. Clearly Humanism died in the British 19th century.
Commentzky considering you atheists take Christian holidays and secularize them it only seems fair...
I'd be absolutely be fine with getting rid of Christian holidays, abolish them and create proper secular days of celebration. Destroy the modern idol of capitalism that is todays Christmas.
A very Christian outlook ladiesman181002. There are many who don't believe in an invisible omnipotent deity in the sky who are more compassionate than many a Christian. When I was teaching, a Muslim girl was being pestered because of her hijab. I soon put a stop to that. I would always defend her rights despite me not agreeing with organised religion. That doesn't make me any better or worse than believers but definitely better than those who discriminate. May your God go with you.
This song reminds me of the "Easter Dawn Service," at Salisbury Park in Long Island years ago, before it changed to Eisenhower Park.
People from all over the globe assemble to sing an ode of joy and there were not sparks, no fights. This scene is a testament to humanity's ability to act as one. Beethoven's 9th whence this hymn did flow is to thank for that.
At first, I could only find the Contemporary rendition of this hymn. But, this brings such joy to my heart! Like I remember, as a child!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (September 7, Pentecost 13), we sang this as our Closing Hymn. Ditto for me as I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. It is #836 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
I smile every time I watch this
This is fabulous!! We NEED to sing soon-praising & thanking God, our Father!!
"Wellspring of the joy of living" those profound words reached through time and touched me right in this moment. I know what the author is talling about 😊❤
Brought me to tears. Beautiful
lovely hymn... could listen to all day...
Taking a walk in the forest on a Sunday morning, Beethoven returned early to his house. He said to his house-keeper the famous words...."Ich habe es" = "I have it" He heard this majestic theme in the forest and came back to write it down. He had been looking for a theme for his 4th movement, and this how the Ode to Joy was born......
"LIFT US TO THE JOY DIVINE!" TRULY AMAZING COMPOSITION AND RENDITION. THANKS. 💓🌷💖
🇪🇺Our European Union Anthem🇪🇺 One of the beautifullest Anthems of the World. Bringing us europeans all together no matter what Religion or what part of Europe we're coming from. Peace to all my european sisters and brothers. Thank you van Beethoven for our wonderful european hymna.❤️🇪🇺
Amen!!! Uplifting my spirit. On 2021 and still gives me goosebumps. Praise the Lord! 🙌🏽
I am an Indian Hindu, but this song is so beautiful, music has no religion or boundaries..:)
ironically, its in London.
In love with this masterpiece
Omgoodness this is Mormon doctrine! When yall sing the truth u give the tabernacle choir a run for its money. Bravo 👏 👏 👏
It struck an eternal cord in my soul!
I'm in tears. I haven't felt in years. Thank you for this.
I love Ode To Joy,it is one of my favorite songs
This is something we all can listen to in the midst of the bad things of life
This song embodies the joy of the human spirit itself.
my favourite classic song...I also have trouble with senses, just like Beethoven
Thank you God for Ludwig van Beethoven!
Couldn't agree more :)
Except that his words do not translate as these words.
"Ode to Joy"
Joy, beautiful spark of Divinity [or: of gods],
Daughter of Elysium,
We enter, drunk with fire,
Heavenly one, thy sanctuary!
Thy magic binds again
What custom strictly divided;*
All people become brothers,*
Where thy gentle wing abides.
Whoever has succeeded in the great attempt,
To be a friend's friend,
Whoever has won a lovely woman,
Add his to the jubilation!
Yes, and also whoever has just one soul
To call his own in this world!
And he who never managed it should slink
Weeping from this union!
All creatures drink of joy
At nature's breasts.
All the Just, all the Evil
Follow her trail of roses.
Kisses she gave us and grapevines,
A friend, proven in death.
Salaciousness was given to the worm
And the cherub stands before God.
Gladly, as His suns fly
through the heavens' grand plan
Go on, brothers, your way,
Joyful, like a hero to victory.
Be embraced, Millions!
This kiss to all the world!
Brothers, above the starry canopy
There must dwell a loving Father.
Are you collapsing, millions?
Do you sense the creator, world?
Seek him above the starry canopy!
Above stars must He dwell.
Also these words were not actually present until the final movement of his 9th symphony. Most people assume this is the entirety of the 9th symphony. Also, Beethoven didn't actually write this. It was based on a poem by Friedrich Schiller.
@@protoborg And it is divine.
@@protoborg This does not defeat what the original comment was saying. Beethoven still created the backbone of the song by creating the music that lifts it up.
So beautiful and uplifting. Ode to joy my favourite piece of music
Thank you God for Ludwig.
