What do you do about slumped over posture? It can leave you with a tight back, so some people try stretching forward... well, you're kind of already stretched forward. All the time. Try this stretch for your pecs and anterior neck and tell me if it helps!
If you have any questions, or have an issue that comes up that could use troubleshooting, please hit me up in the comments. Thanks!

Ian, I like the simplicity of your movements. I followed your TMJ video and this for better posture since I spend more than an adequate time on the computer. But I believe things can be adjusted as it is a matter of retraining the brain. Glad I came across your videos. It is very kind of you to share your knowledge.

You have been a great help to me! My shoulder and elbow have been killing me for 3 months. I've been trying to find something I can do besides take muscle relaxants! I'm headed to your site to see if you offer any DVD's that I can buy for posture! I love all your UA-cam videos. Thank you for sharing!

Debby Gibson I wish he was here too. Check out his other channel. I feel better just watching it because those videos have an ASMR effect on me.

I'm a dancer and would struggle with keeping my back straight. It always felt like it took a lot of effort to keep the shoulders back. My ballet teacher would always say keep your back straight. I believe Ian is right about other muscles being very tight that make it harder to keep the back straight. I was always very strong and slightly muscular. Less flexible because really strong. After a while my back did get straighter after my Russian ballet teacher Mansur would drill it in me to keep my back straight. I learned also that part of help keeping your back straight is mind over matter and strengthening the abdominal muscles. I couldn't keep my back straight if I didn't concentrate on it. When my abs got stronger it felt easier to keep my back straight. As Ian says it is also very important to stretch those tight muscles that are causing the shoulders to push forward. Ian really seems to know what he is talking about. Good for you Ian!

Thanks for the great feedback guys, both here and on the site-that-must-not-be-named. I will definitely cut to the chase next time, or at least point to an annotation that will get you past my endless expatation. This has been a very positive experience so far, I greatly appreciate the encouragement!

Oh gosh thank you for saying that. ...."....anything other that the hunched posn may even feel painful." I had given up trying to have good posture.....as I try to stand up strait I have pain and can only stand 1 or 2 minutes without feeling a soreness.I do not have any upper back issues. I think from being slumped for so long and trying something new caused discomfort. So thank you for that one statement.........I shall start trying again.

kitbot bot Absolutely. Posture just isn't something that can be (or SHOULD be) forced. While it's worthwhile to push back against the effects of gravity, change will be subtle, and it will take time. Thanks for commenting!
