      Terrible name. Why the Japanese have decided electric cars are best named a series of letters and numbers I don't know. It really takes away from the relatability of a car. Even 'anyone' is a terrible car name, and 'Ian-y-one' just makes it sound like it's a bit Ian-y (no offence to any Ians, but it doesn't fill me with excitement). When people talk about their Kona's or Niro's with affection it's missing a trick..

    All EVs? If we want to live in more sustainable cities we need to focus on public transport & alternative mobility (as per the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development - SDG 11, awa the New Urban Agenda). This will require a complete restructuring of transport infrastructure to accomodate pedestrians, e-scooters, bikes (cargo bikes, city bikes etc) microcars, public transport in all forms, and lastly EVs. The show has showcased alternative forms of mobility - it would be great to see more of these episodes.
    Also, some cities have bike buses (enabling kids to ride to school safely) and car free Sundays etc so residents can access street infrastructure minus cars - please highlight such activities too. Some cities & towns even paint their streets to make them more fun (especially developing countries where budgets are tight).
    Cities need to be child friendly, gender sensitive & accomodate vulnerable communities (mature persons, dosabled etc), not just wealthy men strutting their status in fancy cars going to & from work etc. Cities include rich & poor, young & old, genders of all kinds - our transport system needs to accomodate everyone, not just the privileged few.

      @CitiesForTheFuture2030 Рік тому

      @@wschnitzler Actually many cities are doing just that - giving other mobility options access to road networks so that ALL residents (young, old, rich, poor, people, bikes, vehicles of all kinds from small to large). Not having a car shouldn't mean not being able to get around your city (to get to employment, healthcare, education, recreation, visit family or friends, run errands etc).
      Cities are for people. People should have access to forms of mobility that suits their budget & needs. City planners need to think beyond just cars when planning (or upgrading) mobility infrastructure. It's better for our physical & mental well-being, as well as the planet.

    LOOOOOOVE the measuring of the boot. Dimensions of boot and vehicle matter greatly to family buyers. That should be a standard review feature but no channel/site I've found does this as standard. Also would be even better to also check under the (often) fake boot floor and measure the loading height in the boot since manufacturers tend to measure only about seat height for stating their volume in L; and does the car have a frunk? Thanks for adding these more often in future!

    Good job, Imogen.
    My Model 3 is 3 years old and I still get a little frustrated at the screen. If your finger found a real button, you'd know when it was pressed but its easy (for whatever reason) not to make things work when you really need to keep your eyes on the road. Not sure if the Honda might end up the same.
    The Model 3 comes with a lot of piano black surfaces which are easy to get finger prints and scratches on. Makes it look very "second hand" easily. The solution was to buy a custom stick on wood effect (other effects were available) cover for the big areas of piano black. Surfaces are protected. Maybe they will come up with the same for the Honda.
    Not sure about the front charge port. I can see there could be issues with that depending on where you are charging. (its less safe to reverse out of parking bays for example).
    Overall I'd say this was a better effort from Honda.

    Nice review of Honda's new EV. Looks similar to a lot of other SUV EV's on the market, but Honda do make reliable & well put together cars! Just one observation on the interior - what is it with manufactures using BLACK headlining these days, with alot more black on the dash/doors, it makes the interior very dark & a sombre place to be! Why the change after many, many years of them using "light" headlinnings?

    The car Honda should have made all along would be small and sub 20k not a 45k one! Not many young families or others could afford this. It seems legacy car makers are failing the majority of people when it comes to ev’s, whether it’s a deliberate policy to force entire segments of the population out of car ownership altogether in future or a blinkered attitude that will lead to their demise as Chinese companies replace them.

    Interesting efficiency - if I didn't miscalculate that's about 15 kwh per 100 km using the usable battery and the official range. That's pretty good. Kinda irked that efficiency is missing in the data sheet tbh, to me that's one of the most important selling points for an electric vehicle. Otherwise Meh, another SUV. • @Nikoo033
      @Nikoo033 Рік тому

      Absolutely. Efficiency is key, for running costs reasons but also from an environmental point of view. With the 257 miles range presented, its efficiency is 14.96 kWh/100km or 4.15 miles/kWh. But as I mentioned in another message here, you can see at 07:58 that the actual range is 247 miles (extrapolation to 100% of battery). So the efficiency is probably closer to 4 miles/kWh or 15.6kWh/100km, which is still very good for an EV with such a big battery and particularly if you consider the efficiency of similar EV models.

    • @XFDADX
      @XFDADX Рік тому +1

    This car was introduced in China in 2021. It is a battery electric version of the third-generation Honda HR-V. It sells there as the Honda e:NS1 and e:NP1, which are manufactured by Dongfeng Honda and Guangqi Honda respectively. I guess it will just get a different badge for Y-urope. Rest of world only get ICE or Hybrids HR-V atm. The top spec model in China sells for 218,000 yuan which is 25,000 Pounds. There are 3 other cheaper versions. (Cheapest 20K GBP). As to the car itself; can't see that it offers anything particular that sets it ahead of the rest of the compact SUV pack where the market is already well served, though. Opposite, in fact; no V2L?, 60kW-ish charging (10-80% of 62kW in 45 minutes), efficiency nothing to write home about.
