I don't think that I ever seen Molly smile as much as in this clip. The biggest smiles are when Tommy is playing. She's having fun playing with Tommy. And Tommy is having fun playing with her. His gesture of respect (kissing her hand) at the end says it all. Very good!
Tommy’s playing is insane, he’s always entertaining particularly to us lesser players. There’s 30+ years difference between them what is she going to be like when she’s his age!
@@PreservationEnthusiast I assure you, she was not pissed. Tommy Emmanuel may be a better guitarist than Molly Tuttle (he literally changes styles to match her flawless crosspicking), but Tuttle is superb. She has no reason to be jealous of someone 40 years her senior, being a little better at a skill that they're both masters at... I think the video displayed quite clearly that they're very much enjoying each other's play.
Loved the clean direct guitar picking from Molly. Tommy as always runs amok. It’s a show of brilliant technique but Molly’s playing is direct and melodic while Tommy throws in every lick in the book. I loves Tommy and his enthusiasm but sometimes less is more.
And, as Tommy says, he is not a flat picker- he is a finger picker. Videos of this performance taken from different angles clearly show the thumb pick. Keeping up with Molly is quite a job no matter your preferred style. Ditto for the great Tommy.
@@butchlawson Tommy still destroyed Molly in the soloing though, flat pick or not. I think she was a bit in awe and had to resort to strumming a few chords and some dodgy vocals
Is my brain supposed to be able to keep up with this as a listener? I really try to keep my head bopping along and try to hear every magical note that they both play.... but so often with great players like this i lose the rhythm for a bar or two sometimes.. :(

The dude has a heart of gold, really.
This is Bluegrass music at its finest!
Just think how much better the world is because of Tommy and Molly! Heart Felt Thanks to these Artists! DaveyJO in Pa.
Two of the best guitarists alive.
Brilliant , and showing so much respect to each other. Thats what the good players .🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
How can you not love this. The girl can certainly play. More than holds her own with Tommy.
Tommy and Molly are THE pair to draw to! They ought to go on tour together, or at the very least, record a CD.
Gooood lard, my fingers hurt just from watching these two!!!
Tommy is just a Tommy- always incredible. But Molly holds her own!
Something's wrong with my settings. It says this is normal speed, but it's clearly twice that.
no need to adjust your settins, that’s just Molly
yea, i checked mine too
Nobody can keep up with Molly she is the bluegrass speeding ticket.
Even Tommy is amazed.
We were there! 😃
When Tommy gives you the nod, you know you’re gonna be a legend.
I went to see Molly last year with my sister and her husband ( a musician). She was simply brilliant!

I love Tommy and I love Molly. Two flawless players. Tommy is great but you really see him shine when he is playing with an equal like Molly.
Except he destroyed Moĺly in the soloing though. She put on a brave face but I think she was pissed off she got smoked by Tommy.

@@Pernicion Yeah you are probably right. Not pissed off but more in awe of him and how he can literally play any style he wants to a godlike level.
I just had to rewind and watch that over again. Absolutely breathtaking.
Thanks for sharing this!
Can't stop smiling!
Something exceptional about these to doing this song together.
Tommy is great at every genre. He is a monster electric player. Here is is playing bluegrass and he is fantastic.
Dream team!
Tommy can play anything.
Molly is so good! Her phrasing has really matured....it dynamite! Tommy...enough said about him.
Live and alive.
Glad to be here and share the planet with them.
My goodness! Just look at those fingers fly! It is great to see a woman lead guitarist. Great rendition of Freightliner Blues We miss Townes so much!
World class talent.
Hell yes!
That’s just fun to watch!
Fantastique duo de virtuoses!
What a good time!

Wholeheartedly agree. Couldn't have said is better myself. And I think the audience thought so, too.
@@irvinslagter8298 I think the audience enjoyed them equally.
Molly's playing reminds me of the late Doc Watson.
Wonderful
Truly great!
Holy wow!
Insane
Like number 100. Great stuff there.
Was waiting for this. Thanks for posting.
There are more of these they did more than one set.just do a UA-cam Search for ether one of then narrow it down to last month.
Molly is in my top 5 of living players.
Wowwwww
Awesome!!!
Delightful!
Geweldig mensen, ja, laten wij toch eerlijk wezen.
I think she is gonna have to get used to singing through all the applause. Quite the talent..
She just might enjoy what she does, I certainly do...
I love how, after Tommy’s first solo, he starts pulling out all his tricks after he realizes Molly’s a better flat picker than he is.
Jonathan Acierto don’t get crazy...😉

Jonathan Acierto Awesome you noticed that too!

Scott Nunan , sing the song in your head.
She just had him for lunch 🤪
Ffs it isn't a contest. This is her arrangement and he is playing along. He is one of her heroes.
Ummmm.....no...
Flippin’ ‘Eck! A bit good eh!!!!
Tommy could learn a thing or two from Molly
Are you trying to say you love Molly by bagging a great of guitar? That would be dumb wouldn't it. Just enjoy them both.
That's it . I'm over Blue Grass ....... Music is not about how many notes you can play ..... This made me just hate it .....
