    That main riff rules. They play it almost twice as fast as the studio version too.

    13 8.... one reason why dream theater is so good... because they play in such crazy time signatures

    It makes me angry how all you people ever recognize is Petrucci. Did you know Myung is probably the greatest bassist to ever live? Or that Mike is one of the best drummers in history? Or that Jordan is the best keyboardist alive? Or how amazing James's voice is?

      PurpleFalcon7 Jordan is the best keyboardist of history

    nope the best was at marquee and also in 1992 check out the stuff this is awesome as well... James is really good hear and in the 1992 era as well the good news is he is coming back to his old level of singing! :D

    You people really want more than the music they're playing. Sure some bands you should expect to run around and to all sorts of things on stage but with dream theater people should be contient with just the music it's expressive enough they don't need to be running around when they music itself expresses the band members better than any stage tricks could!

    Actually, yes I do. I don't play in bands anymore, I record for myself on my little PC studio. But I played in the local metal scene for 10 years playing tons of live gigs. And that is exactly why they don't run around like KISS (a band that highly alters their live recordings with overdubs - when they were young and could run around that is). So the answer again - Yes. Yes I do.

    @JTheGonzalez yeah, during the tour they did after the release of SDOIT they used to play the entire piece in several shows, I´m sure there are bootlegs out there that have this captured. I join to the request, someone post it!!

    My opinion, when you own a song, then you can rock, but if you make the song even to hard for yourself, then it's the fodder.

    last part in which he sing "to save him from himself" it's a "I'm barely able to him this note" yelp. Thats why I don't really like it because he is doing damage to his voice by over doing the grit in the earlier verses.
    LaBrie = \m/

    This is "CHEESE METAL" with really good musicians. Anyone ever remember MANOWAR, this sounds like them, except 'THEATER' can play their instruments. "sitting in the dark... waiting for the light", YOUR KIDDING ME RIGHT.

    When you run around and go crazy, your playing suffers - not matter who you are. But when you see a band live most people don't notice how sloppy those types of players are. These guys sound unbelievable live for many reasons - Practice and focus being a few.

    Oh my friend I would never respond "OH FUK UU!!1" that is quite childish and I am responding with a singers perspective. James is and always will be my favourite singer and I appreciate his power, finesse and his incredable ability to go 3 hours a night and still diliver an F# above Tenor C at the end of the night. However like mikertis he was very hoarse not just from trying to sound rasping. I'm bashing him although I realize it looks that way. But listen to the higher parts especially the

    I always thought Johns playing was very good, but he never shows any emotion. He never rocks out, he should OWN what he plays, but he looks like someone playing someone else's music and trying not to mess up.
