Yes, the skin can be eaten as "keto" or "carnivore" protein snacks! Love making bone broth with scraps I've saved in the freezer - along with veggie scraps. Onion skins make broth golden brown. I FD and powder it in a zip bag - then mylar or jar O2 sealed... wonderful for both long term and pantry storage. I typically combine both chicken and turkey scraps and call it "Bird Broth" 😊 Great video as always!💯 ps would enjoy a rehydration demo of some of your slices, tough or tender, tasty or bland? Lol not so concerned in a survival situation , though!😂

I too hope you’ll demo the rehydration and eating like you so often do. I’m so excited about all the things I’m learning here today (and always from you and your followers John!).

Thank You, I include the rehydration and taste test in the next video. I wanted to rehydrate using my freeze dried turkey stock. (spoiler alert, it comes out great)!

I am so disappointed. My freeze dryer was only 2 years old. The last year i have had nothing but trouble, paid HR tech 45$ to talk to me without helping me. Last week I called 2 xs and they both wanted me to pay 45$ to help me. I told them no and immediately went to my freeze dryer and demolished it. I can't believe it cost that much $ and really only worked 1 year, and not have anyone to help to solve my problem. I will continue watching your videos, but won't be able to FD anymore.

I am going to put a heart because I like to post them for my regulars. But I am so sad to hear about your machine. When you say you demolished it do you really mean it? There is a guy out there that will help you until it its fixed. I haven't used his service (I have bought a few parts from him) but he seems to get some good reviews. I will post his link but just know that I am not an affiliate and don't get paid for referrals. I am just trying to get you some help. Contact him and see if he will help you www.fixmyfd.com/

@@JohnInBibs I sure did. I couldn't get any help from HR. I lost batches of food off and on for 1 yr. Wish now I would have known of this person, but too late. Hope you continue doing videos. I have and will continue enjoy watching.

I just put a whole turkey in my roaster this morning. When it was done, we took the meat off and shredded it to be FD. The bones are simmering for some bone broth which I’ll can. My whole house smells like turkey, lol.

From the Harvest Right website (I have the 4 tray model but the total weight limit is the same. I stick with 10 lbs per load or 2.5 pounds per tray.)
      Features
      Tray space: 675 square inches
Freeze dry 10 to 15 lbs. fresh food per batch
Freeze dry up to 3,000 lbs. fresh food per year
