This is the very last song on the album "Operation Mindcrime" (which is a concept album with a continuous story), so maybe not the best song to react to (at least from a lyrical perspective). That said, the song (and indeed the entire album), is utterly fantastic :)

The intro and outro are part of the song, but (as others have said) this song is part of a concept album named Operation Mindcrime. It is basically about a guy who ends up in an organized drug and/or crime syndicate. This song is from the perspective of the main character I would say. So the outro and intro are basically related to (and samples of) other songs on the album.

Silent Lucidity and Jet City Woman are 2 of their greatest song's. Them amongst other's were considered the Seattle Sound before Grunge. 🤔😬😮🌞😎🌴😳☮️🐊

Best concept album ever, is still relevant even today, and yes that ending is there on the album.
You would have to listen to the album as a whole it's a excellent story.

Queensrych is Progressive Metal which is one of my favorite genres. I love it because its usually very complicated and changeable rhythmically, with unique sounds and harmonies and talented musicians and voices. Dream Theater is my favorite band.

The entire album tells a story. Each song represents a chapter in that story. Awesome album. Listen from the beginning of the album/book and listen/read your whole way through.

This Album, operation mindcrime is a whole story album. That is why it kicks in so hard at the beginning. The songs meld together. Listen to the Album in it's entirety. One of my all time favorite albums.

It is a story Lex. Everything is part of the song Lex. It's a concept album where each song goes on through the story with some special effects sounds and spoken dialogue. The whole album is great. Worth having on vinyl and yes I recently ordered one, and today I just received their Empire album on vinyl as well.

Last Time in Paris, from the Ford Fairlane Soundtrack, is Queensryche's best song, followed by Walk in the Shadows a close 2nd. I Don't Believe in Love a honorable mention.

Queensryche was not hugely popular and got only minor radio play in the 80s....but since then people have started to realize how good they really were. Most underrated band of all time IMO

I'm dating myself, but I saw them open for Def Leppard in 1988 when that album came out. There was a story that the Leppard sound guys messed with Queensryche's audio. As I remember it, their audio was a little distorted that night. Also, my future wife was at the same show on the same night but we wouldn't meet until 1992. As others have said, this song is from a concept album. It's a complete story. Listening to Eyes of a Stranger is like reading the last chapter of a novel or watching the last 15 minutes of a movie without seeing the rest.
