I am honestly in love with Steve. Besides his musicality and skills at guitar playing, he seems like a smart and wise person. I wish we were friends. He loves to perform and be the best Dad that he can. All the best man.💙
Great interview with the legendary steve lukather. He seems like a really great guy and i love how much he cares about his friends, his kids and his ex wifes.
Was blessed to meet Steve in ‘85 at the Baked Potato and several times after, he was a great guy, friendly and sociable. To me those were the best of times for music, he and the musicians he played with created memories I’ll never forget.
My lovely wife & I have been married 39 years & we are together “For Death Do Us Part” I’m so blessed to have been married for so long…………Thank GOD & GOD BLESS Steve & Peter. Btw most everyone I know including my brothers & sister have all been divorced.
At 31 minutes in Luke makes a brilliant statement about age being like a pie chart. It’s absolutely genius! I’ll carry that statement with me from now on.
Great show! I had the opportunity to interview Luke in 1999 when Toto came to Reno. Nevada. The guy has a great sense of humor and a dedicated focus to writing amazing music. His stories about the session life had me ROLLING on the floor. Great guy!
Luke is releasing his autobiography next year. Should be a killer read. Toto are also touring the US from June, including Las Vegas Sept 2 at Red Rock Casino.
There it is folks,no matter what lige you have....accountant, mechanic, doctor or rockstar.....Being a dad is the best gift one can ever have!! PERSPECTIVE!! Humble beyond belief!!
Enjoyable interview, getting down and being real is a healthy thing. Steve, as a musician, I admire your talent & as a songwriter. Most of all, I appreciate humility and opening up ones heart without fear of someone taking advantage of ones vulnerability. Your compassion is something you don't hold back, Steve. I wish you a happy, satisfying long life.😊
The final measure of a man's lifetime is how his children turn out. If you have good responsible nice children who are considerate and humble you're a kingmaker.
Thanks for this great interview. Luke is showing a deep view inside his personal life showing what great hearted human being and humble guy he is. With all the great things he achieved in life. Al the things he said about his kids and how much he adores them reminds me of my own family and of what is really important in life. Having him as a friend is really something special and I am glad for you that he is one of yours. May the two of you stay healthy as long as possible. God bless you!
Got to know Luke today, what a man! Humble and realistic, open heart and wears his heart on a sleeve, Sleevie Steve, guitar extraordinaire and good grounded guy.
The guy is just great and an important part of so many lives. People that give so much just lose a little themselves personally. Thanks Luke for all you have given us. Great interview Peter.
Filling my Divorce "hole" with studying guitar. 7 years single, playing and making progress. Great interview; Luke is famous guitar legend, and appears to be a very nice person who can relate to many of us.
Thanks for this interview. Steve is one of my top 5 favorite guitarists. I was fortunate to meet him and see him play live at the Baked Potato in Los Angeles several times between 1985-1989. It is good to see human side of legendary, larger than life musical heroes. He seems very grounded, humble and in many ways just a regular dude like the rest of us. God bless.
Thank You💯. You might also enjoy my interview with Greg Phillinganes, and Terry Wollman. They all have their own greatness. Please Share and Subscribe. I plan on bringing more heavy hitter musicians on for 2023.
Steve! You have done so much for the music world, especially for musicians around the world. You have lived your amazing life like most cannot even imagine! What more a man can ask for?
hotaugustmoon Thanks for appreciating the show. This is primarily what (All) my shows consist of. Our goal is about helping people (the ones who Care) get through it with some insight from people as Luke to the everyday person. It Helps and I'm wanting to make sure the children have a chance through the whole mess that can last a lifetime..... I hope you will enjoy and share all our weekly shows... it's important....💯👍
Love this interview- I’ve listened to Toto for half my life but only recently became interested in the guys behind the beautiful music. I find myself drawn to Steve - such a humble, honest, loyal individual. He’s raw & real & it’s obvious he cares about the people in his life. I find myself seeking out his interviews as it’s so refreshing to see someone so honest & unwilling to throw anyone under the bus - though he clearly could. This interview could have gone a different direction but he showed great respect to his exes - his advice is worth taking. No wonder his friendships have endured for years - I would like him even if he was Joe from down the street. The musical aspect is just icing on the cake - the man is where the true gift is - wish more were like him. Thank you for airing this - sorry I’ve just now seen it. Just listened to the audio version of his book! Definitely a must, even if I’m blushing at some of his unfiltered comments- but wouldn’t have him any other way ! Thanks again - it was definitely a great interview ❤️
Pamela Topping Thank you for enjoying it. Luke has a million music interviews. I feel he did a great thing by stepping out of the comfort zone and share a very philosophical view on life, his life. Please Share so I can bring more real life info to people who need to know that Life Happens To Everyone💯
The Peter G Show I agree, the easy way would be to either decline to comment or simply a short answer. It would also have been easy to say it was all Marie’s or Shawn’s fault, which he did not. I’ve been through a divorce so I know how easy it is to take cheap shots at each other. The fact that he argues why you shouldn’t and that he is always apologizing (which he does in almost every interview) says much about who he is. I almost forgot he was such an extremely talented musician etc. You are so sweet to acknowledge my response. I feel he should know people do care - ❤️
Pamela Topping its important to me because this is my show, and I appreciate all that gravitate towards it even by accident. Currently I am doing a Facebook Sunday Night weekly Live Call In Show That covers a bit broader scale on life, however Divorce and Single Parenting Issues come up quite often as well and I’m always ready to talk about it because it helps people get things off their chest as well as sharing stories that people need to hear. So again thanks you for even taking the time to comment. It’s important to me. Peter G. PS: you might enjoy Greg Philinganes Interview as well. Completely different then Luke’s. Greg just tells his story. It’s always a surprise as to what I’m going to get.
Such wonderfully honest advice. As much as we feel we know what to do, it is hard to do what we know is right. Thank you for sharing your experiences and words of wisdom. Steve is one of the most honest guys I have ever heard speak.
Simona Pirone Awesome, this is what we do. Please share because I'm willing to bet that you have a ton of people in your life that may need this type of info. Please share the weekly shows and Like the Official Peter G Show Facebook page. 💯❤👍
Luke is a great person ... it shows from all the beautiful music that he made. I only met him several times during the Toto tours, somehow I wished I could be his close friend hehehe...
Thanks you guys. Steve I'm a year older then you and I sure appreciate a video like this. I'm sad to say me and you have so much in common. Now I count my blessing everyday. We made it though the fire and are now better for it. Would we do the same thing all over again if we had the change, no there would be things we would do better an there would be things we wouldn't have done at all, because in part we've learn to live more free and be self satisfied. When the Beatles play at The Ed Sullen Show that same wave hit both are minds and I ran in my sisters bed room and jump up on the chester drawers playing my Indian drum, I was Ringo.
VID Trax I’m in total agreence with you. I hope to revisit with Luke down the road and bring you more of the man behind the guitar.... I Love this man very much. He brings so much to the table. Hope you enjoyed what I bring to you. Peace Out, Peter G.
Loved this interview. Really nice seeing a more personal approach that didn't deal with the music much. Shows that at the end of the day a rock star is really just a completely normal dude that deals with all the same issues the rest of us do.
Well, why would anyone think otherwise? It tells more about the fans than the artist. You don't turn to an alien because you have a guitar in your hands, even if his skills sometimes made you think he is. :)
Epic stuff. Love Luke’s honesty and vulnerability. One of the very best to ever do it. This is hard hitting stuff I’ve been through it myself. Hang in there guys.
Such a great and refreshing interview with Steve Lukather. Such a great musician and such a loving and down to earth person. We’ve all been there and can relate. And thank you Peter for a great show and interview. Keep up the great work.
Wow, he speaks so much truth and shows a complete non-judgemental attitude to those who are going through the same experiences. He is a pure class act. Fantastic interview, Peter.
Great interview Steve. Was nice to see this side of you. I have much respect for you. And your one of my favorite musicians and an awesome guitar player ❤️
Love Steve Lukather. You can tell he is humble from his experiences and has every reason to be a big head but isnt. Thanks Peter G for a great insightful interview!!
karimba45 Thank You for watching and Enjoying What I’m aiming to do. Please Share and spread the word in Support so I can continue to do more and bring this to Network Television 💯
Thanks to Luke and yourself for showing the personal side that we all can face in life. Luke was right "Love Is Easy" I might add "It is the Understanding of your lover that is sometimes very difficult" Great interview of a true legend. Thank You Smile... Be safe.
So true , I've been through the same as both of you brothers . I've been lucky my X is still my best friend . No hate ! I raised her two boys as a step father, I raised them as my own and love them dearly . No hate ! Thanks two both of you , proof we are all the same ! Peace and love ! Steve come back to Ventura so we can jam again , you are a true bro. God bless . Think before we talk , right on !!!
Henry Kiefer Thank You for Listening and watching. Please share because I have so much to give, but without the funding to produce the type of information and entertainment I want bring to the forefront it’s hard to do. We are living in Times That I feel that it’s So Essential to have a show like this or more in order to let people know that it’s not just them and You Are Not Alone. Also I’d like you to know that I have just started a Sunday Night Live Call In Show on Facebook called Life With Peter G that allows people to call in and talk about almost anything they want to get off their chest. All you have to do is go and like my Peter G Show Facebook page. And then just tune in every Sunday Night at 8:30pm Pacific time, 10:30pm Central, or 11:30pm Eastern and watch whatever happens or (hopefully) call in and air your head out. It’s a little bit more of a broader spectrum from my specific surviving divorce and single parenting show, but very therapeutic. It just started this year and it’s growing but I happily invite you to be part of the show. Thank you again. Peter G.
@@PeterGShow Hi Peter, I absolutely agree with you. So, I will use my social media platforms to promote your show and channel. Starting with this interview. I had been there at the very getgo when Toto first appeared in 1978. Ever since I have been a great fan and supporter of the band and their members. Cheers!
What a down to earth honest guy !! Almost felt like I shouldn't be listening to some of this, very personal... Cool dude all around !! In my Top 5 greatest guitarist of all time👍
SmiTTyy 1967 Glad you liked it. It’s just life, and I talk about it because I feel people need to hear it and that Life Happens To Everybody No Matter Who You Are💯
@@PeterGShowOh yeah I get it, just gladly surprised at the in-depth interview he gave. To be honest I've only seen a couple of interviews with Steve. Find him a very likeable down to earth musical genius.... Great interview though man !! I'm gonna try to check ya out for sure. Thanks for the reply !! 👍
SmiTTyy 1967 Believe me he is all of the above. And all his other interviews are all about music. Luke was kind enough to step out of his comfort zone for the sake of letting others know that we are all just human. He did a world of good...
@@PeterGShow I'm ashamed to say I only learned of him about 4 or 5 yrs ago ! But had been listening to his work for all my adult life... Top shelf all the way !! And I subbed to your channel, like your style. 👍
SmiTTyy 1967 thank you, just please share if you can because as I said, it’s all about helping people and you never know who you might be helping that needs this. Peace..
In this interview, you see the regular guy, next door.. which proves that being star struck is silly. I've heard him talk about that in other interviews. He's a very cool guy for sure.
@@PeterGShow Thanks for the reply, Will do, I have followed Toto since the first album. Even did a few remakes of there songs. White sister and Child's Anthem. I hope Luke wont make me take it down.
glocksheepdog Glad you liked watching and listening to a truly different but very informative side of this man. Our weekly shows mainly revolve around this subject matter while talking to people from all walks of life in hopes that people in need will utilize the information for themselves. I find it especially refreshing when you get to hear real life issues from people you respect and admire. It's not easy to open up and rehash this stuff to the world. Major props for Steve opening up in order to help others. Please like and (SHARE) our shows. Thanks💯🤘
steven tucker Believe me when I tell you that the information in this interview that he is giving you will probably benefit you more through life than any lick he may have demonstrated in the past or what type of gear he's using now. The common factor that brought you to watch it was the musician aspect, but the gift from this man was the (human) factor that is most important for everyone in Life And Happiness... Glad you liked it. And please share our weekly shows as well, you never know who might be needing thing kind of info and all the shows are different 👍💯
I wont hold you back now..is such a ethereal torch song, I used to wonder who the hell these guys were and who is that awesome guitarist...revived their works after 01 as a widower..and they helped me through..
Nice to see so many Appreciating this interview from Steve Lukather. Please Subscribe, Like and Share all our shows. I think you will find Great Information and Entertainment from every guest in different aspects of the How To Survive and Maintain through difficult times not only for your sake, but your children's as well. And Don't Forget you can listen to all our shows on ITUNES as well. Life's a Bitch, Let The Peter G Show Help You Through It. Love You Guys, Peace Out.
Today my sister and I were talking about how "most" men don't appreciate the work it takes to be a mother and how different it is from being a father. You get it. It was really you we were talking about. You are not most men. Kimie Girl:)
Really enjoying this interview. Thank you. Steve seems like a lovely guy. I have also been through two divorces (no kids) and they were both extremelly painful, even though I was the one leaving. It leaves scars. Like him I stayed friends with one of my exes and am very proud of it. Wishing the best of luck to this great musician and cool human being.
Say Ribeiro , I hope you will subscribe to my Facebook and UA-cam shows. All the content and people are very informative and entertaining 💯 Help spread the word by Sharing in order to help others....👍 That's why I do this😎 Thanks, Peter G.
I just happened upon this video and your channel. Thank you for posting this...in my mind, Steve Lukather is the quintessential "rock guitarist" whose work and professional reputation have kept him relevant through all the cultural shifts since the mid-70's. That makes him *exactly* the type of musician whose personal story is so interesting to me. You obviously thought so too and I'm appreciative for that. Now I'm subscribing! All the best to you.
Russell Szabados Hey thanks. The whole purpose of my show is about what seems to be the norm nowadays with Divorce and Single Parenting. For most people it can ruin you, and when you have children you need to hold it together. Easier said than done. I think you'll find that even though Luke is what drew you to the show, all my Guests and solo shows have many different perspectives that all lead to the same road. I hope you get something out of all our shows and please help us expand and grow by Sharing.... my official show is on Facebook, and most of the shows are even Podcast thru ITunes for people on the go. Thanks again, It means a lot💯
Hi Peter, thanks for replying. I've watched most of your channel and I appreciate what you do, especially for musicians, particularly guys and how they can hear your life wisdom and hopefully make some positive changes-. I'm grateful to be in a stable relationship with an amazing woman. We're together 26 years and have never been married and we don't have kids. For us, that was the winning set of rules. I cut my hair and threw out the crazy crap and went back to school, but instead of selling insurance God forbid, now I'm composing orchestral music and building my client base a customer at a time. I just turned 50 and I'm excited about life. Some of my old buddies are losing their minds. I'm grateful my Mom made me stay with piano lessons! I recommend your channel to quite a few people. I hope you continue to grow personally & professionally. I'm in Las Vegas and hope to have real business to take care of in Los Angeles as soon as possible. Again, all the best and stay positive!
great interview and steve always talks sense especially about life . im currently going through all this divorce and getting access to see my kids , great to hear someone like Steve talk so in depth about it . thanks
Stephen, The reason I have this show is because most everyone is going through this type of stuff. I encourage you to subscribe to The Peter G Show On FACEBOOK as Well as UA-cam because the information from all the many different guesses I have brings a ton of Good Common Sense to the table to help you through the tough times. Let me know what you think, Good Luck...

He seems real cool. And what an amazing voice to go along with his guitar chops.
Great interview with the legendary steve lukather. He seems like a really great guy and i love how much he cares about his friends, his kids and his ex wifes.
Steve seems so cool and laid back. His kids are very lucky to have such a wonderful father. Great interview!
Yeah, he seems lovable from the first second. I wonder if he's always been this way or if it's a bit of age wisdom too

Awesome interview loved it! Thank you.
Cheers!
best rock guitarist alive
Clearly!! - one of the best of all time. Check out his discography. Unbelievable.
Maybe there is one reaching him, Guthrie Govan. The rest is ...

Steve Lukather is an awesome human being so humble and true
Luke is a true gentleman and man of his word.
Ok I didn't think I could love Luke anymore than I do but I was wrong. What a man! 💖✌
always love any interviews from steve luke.
Peace..
Thoughtful, intelligent, honest and funny at times - thanks for sharing.

Please keep sharing in order for the Message to keep passing on to those who may really need the insight.💯👍
I would love to meet Luke...He's the best !!!
In this interview, you see the regular guy, next door.. which proves that being star struck is silly. I've heard him talk about that in other interviews. He's a very cool guy for sure.
Just love to hear Luk talk!
Totally nice to see Luke is a down to earth person. Fame and fortune didn't go to his head. We are all human first.
Midi Man Agreed. Thanks for watching, Please Share💯👍
PS: You Might Also Enjoy My Interview With Keyboardist Greg Phillinganes. 🙌
@@PeterGShow Thanks for the reply, Will do, I have followed Toto since the first album. Even did a few remakes of there songs.
White sister and Child's Anthem. I hope Luke wont make me take it down.
Great interview--thanks Steve for being transparent and sharing your story.
glocksheepdog Glad you liked watching and listening to a truly different but very informative side of this man.
Thanks💯🤘
Steve is one of musical heroes. Much respect.
Thank you God for given us this man.
I love the dad side of Steve....it is very special
I love you Steve, beautiful man.
Awesome! So different from the interviews he usually does. He is a great guy! Gonna see him next week in Germany.
TheEasyFeeling 👍 Share to the rest of the world who may need the info💯
The intimacy was really good in this video. I got on here because I play guitar, but it was nice to hear common experiences from other aspects.
steven tucker Believe me when I tell you that the information in this interview that he is giving you will probably benefit you more through life than any lick he may have demonstrated in the past or what type of gear he's using now.

Love You Guys, Peace Out.
Today my sister and I were talking about how "most" men don't appreciate the work it takes to be a mother and how different it is from being a father. You get it. It was really you we were talking about. You are not most men. Kimie Girl:)
Gotta love his honesty!
Thanks Luke, good stuff man.
All the content and people are very informative and entertaining 💯
Help spread the word by Sharing in order to help others....👍
That's why I do this😎
Thanks, Peter G.
Luke... I totally relate. I've been there too I'm 62 and a musician (drummer) I get it. I'm ok without having another wife. You rock

Hey thanks.
Thanks again,
It means a lot💯
It’s easy to see why he’s a great songwriter
Overall, Steve Lukather is a humble person, who loves his kids.
great interview and steve always talks sense especially about life . im currently going through all this divorce and getting access to see my kids , great to hear someone like Steve talk so in depth about it .
What a great interview.. learned a lot, thanks!

Please share and pass on the message for those who may really need it....
Great interview and great musician, if anyone’s got the t shirt its him!!
I dug this. Just a conversation. Not polished at all. So honest and real. Luke is such a great human.
That’s my goal with all my guests, but some people don’t get it so thank you!💯. Please Subscribe and Share❤️
You are such a sweetheart Steve. God Bless you.
From all I can see Mr. Lukather has the head screwed on the right way. Huge respect.
