It could be using the right size battery abd the right voltage, But your vehicle can put a demand where the discharge rate is more than what the battery can handle and that's usually what causes the battery to inflate otherwise get hot. Upgrade to a higher discharge battery when your battery outperforms your RC that's what you'll get in the long run
Case construction has nothing to do with the puffing. Puffing is a byproduct of battery breakdown due to usage. over-discharging, over charging or over heating or a combination of will cause a battery to degrade at a faster than normal rate leading to visible puffing. Did you check the individual cell voltage after the esc cut off? Batteries have a finite life generally a certain number of cycles. Keep in mind that if you frequently use the storage charge function that that counts as once complete cycle. The average life span of a lipo is about 100 cycles before you start noticing a performance degradation and loss of capacity and somewhere around 3-500 cycles is where they usually fail. Also bear in mind that if you use them to the extreme-frequent heavy amp loads & or a lot of big air bashing that shocks the battery your batteries will breakdown faster.
This happens to this guy because he's an idiot he keeps on using his RC car until the Lipo cutoff knowing that his other batteries have already swelled up letting them know that the cutoff is not correctly done right on the RC car but like an idiot he thinks it's because of the Heat
The hardness of the shell has nothing to do with why the older lipo puffed. Puffed LiPo batteries happen when the LiPo battery gets stressed. Lots of different things can stress a battery, running it hot, not storage charging a fully charged battery that's not going to be used and letting it sit around, & munch more. In fact, some hard cases can hide that the battery is stressed! Not allowing it to easily expand. This doesn't make it less prone to a LiPo fire, it can just mask the danger. See the hard cases are good for reducing the LiPo getting punctured in a crash. Good for RC airplanes and helicopters to lesser degree RC bashers cars.
I actually did that for 3 batteries. They only sent one new one back to me. They were all equally bad. They wouldn't give me anything but my local Hobbytown owner talked them into giving me one.
This happens to guys that use their RC car until the Lipo cutoff I never do that. That would destroy any battery I don't care what anyone thinks or says it will
Followed how to use, charge and store my 2s lipos buffed in less then a year and also had a 3s and on my second one in 3 months due to connection break when trying to charge. Shit batterys. Gens ace is the way to go.
It is because you discharge the battery too much... I have some of the cheapest Lipo batteries and that never happens to me that happens to guys who use their RC car until it dies thinking that the cut off will save the battery when that is not true all the time I would say that your RC lipo cutoff is not very good stop using it

Clear and concise! 👌
I love my lectron pro 3s 5200s and my 3s 7600s they work phenomenal.

don't be discouraged they are good batteries new technologies that gotten better
Did you store them at a proper charge?
Thanks for the info. Btw you sound like the dude from the channel “SercureTeam”
I have the same one my charger says check battery cell connect error should my lipo charge be on 4s.lipo storage to should it be on 4s with 5200mah
If it’s been less than a year file for warranty they will make it right

I’ve had good luck with the batteries. Next time just make it look like it had a cell go bad. They were more than happy to replace mine
How are they holding up now ? I just bought one for 30.
@@Portuguese-linguica I've have a 2s one, and I've had it for like, idk, around 2 years now. I've had no issues what so ever.
@@Joepat_04 how did you treat it during runs and charging ?
I ran it until it was on low battery, then I charged it. I charged it on 2 amps (I know it can take more).
And I use an old traxxas charger as well. I have a hard case battery.
Did this puff because it was being charged with too many amps?

My lectron pro 7600mah randomly puffed and went up in flames in my rc after about 6 months
How long does it take to charge that battery I'm new to hobby
I have a 22.2v 3200 mah and it takes about an hour to fully charge
I have a 2s. It depends how long you use it for. I use mine till it's low battery or the car won't move. Usually around 80-120 minutes for me.
Followed how to use, charge and store my 2s lipos buffed in less then a year and also had a 3s and on my second one in 3 months due to connection break when trying to charge. Shit batterys. Gens ace is the way to go.

Interesting.
Never discharge your battery less your taking them to recycle. If you heard him say, he did discharge them and was still using them🤦♂️
I suggest you get a good charger those are good batteries send your old batteries back to Common Sense RC they will give you a discount on new battery
