Do you have a storage tutorial? I have a 5000 MAH 7.4v battery, won’t run the truck for a week and was told to storage charge the battery before letting sit
The 5c is referencing how fast the battery can be charged. It is a 2 cell based on the “2s”. This can also be found based on the voltage of the battery. Each cell in a LiPO battery is 3.7 volts. So the 7.4v (3.7x2=7.4) also indicates it is a 2 cell battery.
What I don't understand is looking at the screen it says it's charging at 8.4 volts but on the battery it says it's a 7.4 volt battery can somebody explain this to me
You would use storage when you are not going to be using the battery for more than a few days and discharge if you ever wanted to cycle the battery on the charger. Higher cell count batteries wont reach the full 10a capability of the charger. Its a wattage issue.
This usually indicates a bad cell in the battery. I’m not sure if a balance only cycle will bring it back. For safety reasons, most chargers will error out and not charge if the voltage is out of range.
I have a 5200mAh with a 2c charge rate. So 5.2 x 2=10.4 meaning I can charge with the max 10 right? Can I always charge it with 10 or will that make the overall life of the battery run out faster? Thx
10 is perfectly fine. It will not affect the overall life. Technically a slower rate will pro long the batteries overall life because it is easier on the cells.
