Anniversaries, birthdays and holidays started to blur when we became nomads. Because between weather, inaccurate charts, bureaucracy and equipment breakdowns, we never know where we will be or what we will be doing. And we have learned to write our schedule in the sand at low tied. Because that’s about how reliable a schedule is for us.
Of all our years together, and all things considered, it's not our most romantic anniversary every. But it’s been highly practical and productive.

WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.

Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
TALKING TO STRANGERS
People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment.
Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving.
ALTERNATIVE LIVING
These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community.

I thought the same. Nikki and Jason seem very genuine and sweet to me. Are we not watching them for an escape from what we do or to dream about what we would like to do or what we would like to see? I guess I could understand if the laughing did not seem genuine but it always seems genuine at something that is truly funny or it's a little chuckle aimed at the newest situation that they have to deal with. Or do we want to see people who are pissed off each time something goes haywire?

Honestly, you've got nothing to defend yourself for or of, getting the basics stuff accomplished is the gift you give yourself, Happy Anniversary, and even though you were a dad right on your honeymoon, inherited a 14 yr old, Happy Father's day, and working out the annoying things on Curiosity, taking care of your health, your dental care, which Canada is now getting Dental care! Prospective, if you can't take care of your health, you won't have a catamaran to celebrate with and for future expeditions, yup, very important to grow together! Don't let the Curiosity split sails between the two of you, you have curiosity together! Happy Anniversary!

My wife and I enjoy your channel. We don't sail or travel. What we enjoy is how genuine you are. When you are struggling and putting a brave face on, its evident and relatable. You let us see you and empathize. You even discuss it. When you hit your highs, it feels so much more real.
Also the way you connect with people is a joy to follow along with.
I would consider your marriage as exemplary. Two high functioning people who are committed to self care, appreciate and celebrate the little things, argue but never lose their good humor, find the optimism in every challenge... to be honest these are my marriage goals.

You nailed it in this video. Happily married 52 years. We celebrate our relationship every day. While we acknowledge valentines day and our anniversary it does not need to be a big deal. We remind ourselves how lucky we are, joke about renewing our commitment for another year and then just go back to enjoying each other's company day in and day out.
If there is a big day to celebrate it is each other's birthday. We take extra effort to make a couple of days very special for the birthday person.

To be fair to Nikki, post production software and tools have gotten exponentially better in 12 years too.
The 1st video I watched was in the RV in Alaska where Jason had to figure out how to plug a tire. The mechanical and fix it skills have come a long way since then!!
As long as you are both enjoying your life the way you seem to be live exactly how you want. You only have yourselves to please and it looks like you are doing a great job of that. Keep laughing and enjoy life.

I was literally thinking about how much I love your laughter.. I was looking at your faces and thinking how laughter and peacefulness makes such a difference on a person. 37 yrs + an now we’re old wondering who’s first an how to recover. Partners for life, despite the occasional tension( how many different sanders/buffers does one person need, I don’t know but possess quite a few) and it really does fly by, unnoticed and mostly blissfully. Only the lucky few hook their right person, the teary eyed look back is earth shattering so enjoy the moments , stress an all. It’s all that really matters .
My Senior year in High Schoo,l, 1964, I had a blind date with a Junior. We have been together since, and married in 1967. Yep, 57 years. We have bee world traveler's since we did our 1stt Wind Jammer Cruise in 1992. Love your Site, and have been following you for a few years now. You two are the best!! So genuine and authentic! And I don’t worry about specific dates either. Isn’t it better to celebrate someone special when the mood and time is right rather than on a specific date? Or if you see an amazing gift a friend might love, just buy it and give it to them then! I rarely give gifts on birthdays or Christmas. I celebrate my love ones other times.
Happy Anniversary. I lost my wife 2 years ago to a fight with cancer. Don't pass up the chance to be romantic. You may have a time when you look back, and wish you had the opportunity again. I'm praying you do not, but you never know. Also, life can sometimes get in a rhythm, and get in the way of chances. You two are the most important things in each other's lives, don't forget that! Treat time alone together like a child treats Christmas morning, and you'll never regret it.
Couldn’t agree more. I lost my wife 7 1/2 years ago after being married for 37 years and being together for 45 years. Not one day goes by that I don’t wish for some of that time we had together. Treat every day together as a precious gift.

I started binge watching your channel in 2014/15. My interest was that you were rving with cats. That to, was my future plan. I ended up traveling with 5 senior cats. I am now working on my 5th year of full time with my one remaining cat. Your trips were so informative and entertaining. Well, happy anniversary. In November my wife and I will be celebrating our 52nd. Each year is better then the previous. I am not sure what was the first video but have seen most of them I am sure. You got me started on sailing videos. We are RV's and have just completed our first year on our first new travel trailer. It was not only a new trailer it was also a new model for a newer manufacture. I am sure you understand what that means. Even after all of the unexpected issues it is still the best travel trailer for us. It is one of the new breed of off road travel trailers designed to go nearly any ware. Looking forward to your future travels. You are such great story tellers.

The first video I watched of you both was, You were in the RV, with the cats. A LONGGGGG time ago.
Just shy of 52 years and agree with the 55 year couple. It’s just nice being together all the time. Holidays, birthdays and anniversaries are really just another day. And we enjoy each one.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and I think it's wonderful how much you guys can be together, work together, struggle together and share in the videos. I love how you both can laugh at yourselves and just laugh in general. You genuinely care for the people you meet, and you allow us to care about the people and places you share in these videos.
I was told by an extremely well versed and respected sommelier, she thought people shouldn't save the nice bottle of bubbles for milestones in life..... celebrate a Tuesday or soup for dinner. And even though she was speaking to me about champagne and prosecco, I took away a meaning of life lesson.

I got married above Cebu City in a place called City Lights, which over looks the city ; and that was 28 years ago. We will be returning this December to see family and do more exploring.
Every day is a celebration! I am NOT one of those who complain about laughing, those people need to exit.
So like all the laughs, and all the fun, keep it up for its one of the great spices of life.

The first of your videos YT served me was you driving in the RV to Florida to look at boats. Now we're a little more than 4 years living aboard our own boat and still watching.
Most of the other sailing channels we used to watch have lost their luster since its now our lives too, but we always enjoy watching you guys.

True love is not looking at each other it's both looking in the same direction. You guys are like epoxy glue it takes two parts to make it work.
My wife and I went nomadic (by RV) in 2019 based largely off seeing you two approach travel with grace and empathy (and curiosity). You helped us round our way to year 5, and even as we sunset that life with a 2 year old onboard (who need more play space) we continue to follow your ocean bound journey with just as much enthusiasm. I had a lot of folks ask why we never taped our journeys or started a youtube channel, and while I was lucky I had a remote career that paid enough for us to not need to fuel our tanks that way it was more about keeping us present in our own moments. What I was more afraid of was how to balance our personal lives while still revealing what folks would want to see. I applaud you both for finding a way and taking us along for the ride.

Sounds like you took possession LONG before Q&A was finished... Never rush these types of purchases.... Let the manufacturers do their job correctly and on their own timeline. Those issues should NOT be happening on a new vessel.

Being a lifelong boater, I had my share of concerns for you both, embarking on such a big venture like that! I've been with you ever since and so glad you guys are killing it so well! Happy anniversary you two. The first of your videos I watched was of you changing a tire on a ginormous RV. My favorite series of videos, so far, has been during the pandemic when you were learning local culture and cleaning beaches. Those helped keep me sane during such a dark time. As a part time RVer I felt that last line to the bone, if you get too stressed at ever little things that goes wrong you'll absolutely go to an early have from what should be a fun hobby, I imagine living on a boat has to be that turned up to 11.
Plus, who wants to watch a bunch of grumps, watching folks who have a zest for life 95% of the time and can make that contagious is much more fun.

I think I found you guys about 10 to 11 years ago here on YT. You were in a nice RV and were traveling the US like I wanted to. I kept watching and I've found ZZEERROO videos that were not good. They were all VERY informative and because of that, I kept watching and haven't stopped yet. There has NEVER been any thought of NOT watching as soon as a new video arrives! Your content is SPOT ON!! 10 years ago as we retired we decided to get into RV travel and started shopping for a small travel trailer. Since I knew nothing about them I started researching on UA-cam. Your channel was one of the first I came upon and I learned a lot. Not just about the normal “how to” stuff but how to embrace the lifestyle. I have looked forward to your posts ever since this early daze. While I am not a sailor, I love your posts, mostly because you do such a good job and you are such a delightful couple.
