I hope you enjoyed this video!
it's a dead game, why are you advertising it?
@@pdbsstudios7137I would say from the video it doesn't look very dead to me.
@@Heizena trust me, it's dead!
I have to be brutally honest about Resonite's community dynamics. Despite investing over 1K hours into NEOS, my efforts as a human player felt utterly invalidated. It's disheartening to witness such a lack of inclusivity in what should be a welcoming metaverse community. Even after creating numerous public worlds and assisting countless furry and human players in adapting to the platform, the hostility towards human characters persisted relentlessly. What's more disheartening is the fact that when I reached out to community moderators for support, my concerns were consistently disregarded. This dismissive attitude only serves to perpetuate the toxic environment. It's truly disappointing to see Resonite mirror the same issues as NEOS, perpetuating exclusion and prejudice rather than fostering a sense of unity and acceptance
@@lordharryvarden I'm sorry you've had that experience, but the people you've had the experience with don't represent the entire community. Resonite is a place for everyone, and almost noone cares what avatar you're wearing. It kind of disheartens me to see when someone had bad experiences, overall Resonite's community is the most open and welcoming I've ever seen, and I'm happy and proud to be a part of it.
I dragged my feet on every single VR program and game till the community was basically dead I'm not going to make the same mistake here. This looks really rad
wwait is it alreeady dead? .. thats really sad because it looks soo sick!
I think there talking about neos vr, this is resonite the successor to neos @Adnan-qg7ne
the community didn't really die tbh
it was alive somewhat during Neos' time. reso's just a hard fork because froox always owned the code
@@Adnan-qg7ne No, they just don't want to be getting on the bandwagon after it's already dead If it dies. RIP Hi-Fi...
Yeah i feel the same way about neosvr, its the most advanced out there besides Resonite, vrchat had gotten boring, props dont do much, doesnt feel super realistic, its the same games and same objects in different retextures in every world, nothing new, no props we can make, still cant have an avatar that isn't humanized, because where we see will be above the actual avatar, and the community and updates and somewhat behind, or just bad right now. It depresses me how simple it seems to make an amazing immersive, fantasy, somewhat realistic social vr game like neosvr, make avatars or parts of the world react to yours, props, inventory, true immersion, true home worlds, graphics like helios, etc, yet no one has taken that opportunity. Maybe its just not the best time right now, we need more people to actually want something other than vrchat, a reason for everyone to want to move over to a new platform, but it's a gold mine opportunity, for us and for the people who create it, and don't sell out to NFT/Crypto, Currently, neosvr and resonite sound promising, and resonite even more since with neosvr it could suddenly disappear, I'm definitely gonna check them out. (I'd love the ability in vrchat to have your home world never reset anything you change, like a real house you set up, unless you click a button to reset it all back the way it was.)
Rusty Bot is one of the coolest things ive ever seen in VR in a LONG time, gonna have to hop in and start making my own lil gadgets
Thanks so much! The fact that I've inspired you means all my effort's been worth it as far as I'm concerned.
@@RustyManufacturing You've more than inspired me, I got a whole notes tab written of some avatar ideas already lol. Here's to maybe meeting in game one day! 🤝
He is orange.
Go meet Rusty, the one avatar you see is just one of.... HUNDREDS of different version that does cool stuff. Every time I visit Rusty or his world he is always showing dozens of new things I haven't seen he could do before.
Rusty and his robot friends have these really cool, highly engineered avatars, with detachable swappable parts and gadgets. Also worth meeting are Gearbell, Adreos, Nuki, Timaram, and anyone else who's an active community member who have put a LOT of code on their avatars to make them do interesting things, and will teach you how they did it if you ask.
Just so everyone is aware that has trouble with their frames in Resonite, they recently implemented individual settings for max texture resolution in worlds, so that even if a world's textures are too big for running smoothly, you can adjust what is actually rendered for you specifically. I'm running a Geforce 970, its ancient, and since this settings update, my game is running smooth as can be.
That is so useful! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼 vrchat sadly almost always runs like at 40 fps with my 2060 super at really low res, maybe I can get proper 90 fps in resonite
@@B4nan0n vrchat runs BELOW 40 fps for me in a busy instance. I have a 4090
Things are about to get even better: there's a survey regarding if performance should be refined as the next update or the IK is improved for newer features and bug fixes. In short, regardless of which option is chosen next, the performance is only going to get better.
Also running a 970... Fossil hardware gang
I was here to ask about this ahah
This is the future of VR I've dreamed of. To all the creative people making amazing things, thank you so much! Triple A games can't hope to compete with you guys!
rec room already has been doing this, they literally just copied rec room
@@jordan3636 isn’t rec room the meta social thing?
@@jordan3636 you know this is not the same...
Triple Ehh hasn't kept up with the indie scene in a long time, in my opinion
@@jordan3636 Rec room is no where near the quality this is. I would know I have played Rec room alot.
This is blowing my mind... 3:17 Bro is literally using a node-based system in VR to program the world around them in real-time 🤯🤯 like dude what that's sick
It's basically VR-Tony Starks workbench. This video gives me heart palpitations
This is the way.
couple years back i got some help from some furries in Neos building an interactive object, it was so cool how multiple people could join into the same space and see all the panels with all the real-time settings and if they had permission also adjust things. i brought a 3D 'fanta bottle' model and the sound clip of a soda bottle opening, they showed me how to make a collider sphere around the cap into a toggle, grip to remove it triggering the sound, and make particles emit out for a fanta shower ICP style :P
Why yes, I was. :)
The concept of a community that creates because they're surrounded by a community that creates is just so very wholesome to me.
That's what the old internet used to be, just people making websites and forums. That is until social media. I'm just happy that something remotely similar yet so different is being brought to the table
Amazing video! Really appreciate the screentime lol
You would
@@Shadow__X I would!
I appreciate that you rebuilt your old avatar from Anyland.
@@ClokworkGremlin It's so cool to see people in the comments here that remember me! I'm working on a showcase video actually that I hope to have out by the end of next week, it's been nearly three years of development on this thing.
@@RustyManufacturingyour avatar was so cool man! Really well done
Frooxius is a gigachad dev, the whole engine was initially built by him single handedly
he's always been a genius, i met him back on the furnet days and he's always been doing very cool things!
@@ElegiusLupus the whole resonite ecosystem of devs are so talented too
It felt like the early days of the web again before all the tech giants became giant
This is actually insane. As a CS student specialising in VR dev, I got WAYYYY too excited learning about this "game"
Also incredible, extremely high quality video as usual!
No joke, there are some universities that will be incorporating Resonite into their teaching curriculum in the next few years.
@thomaslillibridge9854 a university in the Czech republic already has!
these are pretty basic features that are included in rec room, like the biggest vr software that exists, how can you say you're cs specializing in vr dev and this is new to you
@@thomaslillibridge9854 That sounds like a very creative idea. I've seen VR being used on teaching in various professions so far and I believe it will be quite effective tool.
The robots switching heads was GOAT move 10/10
You'd honestly be hard-pressed to find a robot that CAN'T swap out some of their parts around here lol
I literally have no words. Seriously one of the most mindblowing things in VR I’ve seen in a while
….. how about riff xr??
"You look different from last time I saw you"
"I looksmaxxed" 😂
20 people's team built this, Meta should really think about what they did with horizon worlds all these years
They were building all the backend systems to harvest user data and distribute ads. Making a good game was never the primary goal.
@@anonamos225 Somehow it doesn't surprise me, but saddens me when they could've done something way bigger than Resonite, oh well, corporate greed only breeds failure.
I love this idea. It bothered me how in VRChat you couldnt edit or create worlds while in vr, you had to download Unity and do it there.
This is the Second Life VR weve been waiting for.
I was JUST thinking this was one more step closer to a true SLvr :'D If only Phil had kept to it and not sold off, we'd have a literal SLvr by now. Bro really missed out on the market D:
@@bakaichigo the problem with Sansar was they didn’t market it well and it was very limited in what you could do. it fell behind in comparison to plateforms like VRChat. I have heard they’re working on a second attempt but no new news after that
@@323starlight It was called High Fidelity. I worked support for it, and it shut down in 2020 due to not reaching enough users. The code was open source, and it is still maintained under the new project name Overte.
EDIT: This includes the server, so you can run everything entirely yourself, ala OpenSim.
YESSS second life in vr
Im waiting for the day you can set up stores and buy and sell in VR.
man, this is the most advanced vr thing I've seen since Neos. looks really neat.
This is the spiritual continuation of Neos.
The entire dev team and community ditched Neos and moved to create and play Resonite instead.
Watch Thrillseeker's video if you want the full story on that one.
People used to compare VRChat to SecondLife, but this is really much closer to a VR SecondLife than VRChat, with being able to create things while in-game and all.
7:08 physically organizing new records to keep the sense of presence is such a fun idea and the aesthetic of the place is nice, it seems like a great way to discover new music (I know it's literally just a record store but still)
I find it fascinating that, even though this is a virtual world and they literally could have just done it all digitally, they STILL decided to make the experience as authentic and true to real life as possible.
I feel like recent times we've become obsessed with creating systems that are as "efficient" as possible. Everything must be at your fingertips all the time. It's nice to see a more alternative perspective that actually sees the value in those imperfections and little tedious moments.
THIS IS SO COOL! This is exactly the kind of thing I've been wanting from VRChat and missing. The level of creativity and personalization that is possible here is the same reason I've loved games like Little Big Planet for so long. Truly amazing stuff. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for featuring Wren, Crimson, and Rusty (Sloppy was there in the background of most shots too lol). This video was a great showcase of why we love Resonite so much. It will be great seeing more players experience what makes the game so unique. - Amplified
This is actually, I'm not even kidding, ONE OF THE COOLEST videos and subject matter I have ever seen. This one is going into my visualisation playlist.
Thank You for checking out Resonite! This game is the home to a lot of people including me, and to see more popular creators talk about it makes me super happy.
Same here
Oh wow, it’s nice to see your name again Moonbase! I don’t know if you remember or not
@@duskdealer258 delete you’re commercial
Ready Player One who? This fr looks awesome and I think you've convinced me to pick up a VR headset and I'm only 5 minutes in.
I tried resonite and personally loved it at first, but always found it rather intimidating to set up avatars and assets. I think that thought has been holding me back from playing the game and really enjoying it.
If you need help with anything, you can ask around and mentors (including myself) can help.
How glorious this is. It feels pretty much like my dream VR experience as-of ten or fifteen years ago, and here it is now, both real and even affordable. _Sensational!_
Resonite is like a home to me, thanks for covering the weirdness well
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen, I have always wanted something like this. Thank you for showcasing this, I think I am going to enjoy this
VRChat for programmers. This is the most insane thing I have ever seen come out of VR
Programmers and creative people in general, honestly all this is so cool!
yes! VRChat is very restrictive, and possibly for good measure knowing their audience... where you can't build any 2-way API communication into a VRChat world that has been built into Neos (and i assume Resonite now too) for years... there are no developer restrictions. i wonder what kind of code sandboxing/safety is implemented though.
Resonite is literally a world of pure imagination! This was so much fun to learn more about the platform! VBunny's house tour had me laughing! XD
Fantastic video, and fantastic game.
Damn near anything you can possibly imagine, you can create in-game, and have it be FUNCTIONAL how you want it to.
Easily the single best sandbox/social option available, no contest.
Highly recommend for anyone to play it, VR or Desktop. (Also it's completely FREE lol)
Schloppy
3:00 woaaaah people working together on importing a model while in VR is super cool!
It's good to see that this is what came of Neos VR. I have high hopes that this will finally be the social vr platform that will take the vr user experience to the next level that we've been craving.
This actually looks really cool! Always great to see more content in VR!
3:10 damn, this is crazy stuff. Althrough techically it's the same as if you did it in Unity, see it in "play mode", available for all others is mindblowing
this is like such a wholesome version of playing pretend for adults, and getting the enrichment a lot of us dont have in real life.
I remember learning about Resonite in Raeal The Protogen's stream back in October, when he introduced the platform to his followers with two (three?) of the platform's developers.
Looking back then when Resonite was largely unknown, I am glad to see it has gained popularity.
Not only is Resonite truly EPIC, but unlike VRChat, you aren't automatically a degen as soon as you join!
Can't wait to jump in!
As someone from Second Life, this game is something I've been meaning to try with peeps. This is, save the vast mainland world, literally SL but in VR. Inventories, scripted content in world - it's all amazing and I can't wait to dive in world.
Heya, Second Life veteran here! Resonite has fully replaced SL for me, it's more powerful, more flexible and much more intuitive to use. It generally gets way less in your way compared to Second Life, comparing writing LSL scripts to ProtoFlux is a night and day difference. Also land is free!
I joined Resonite last night for the first time and It was amazing the community so far have been awesome leaps and bounds from VRChat
Hopefully the next focus will be performance, then it will become my second most played game xD
It most likely will be, they are currently choosing between an IK and full-body rework and performance, and it seems to be heavily leaning towards performance.
I don't normally comment on videos, but this video had me oooing and amazing out loud. I think the last time I was this excited for a vr game was for the beta of vrchat. I'm genuinely surprised and amazed about the features shown. What an amazing place.
This video is so packed with information, I've watched it twice already
The "want an idea?" interaction at 12:38 is such a small detail but the interactivity of it is so cool
I inform myself on VR every day and have over 1000 hours in it now, thanks for the in-depth review full of fantastic creators to delve into. (Even though this is almost a documentary)
It gave me chills and a spontaneous smile, thank you Phia as always for all the effort you put into it, when my valve index decides to work I would be happy to meet you, now maybe we can say that THIS is the future of VR!
The video turned out super great! Resonite has become an important part of my life, and while it might look daunting, the fact that you can have other people around you showing you how the tools work and even helping you with your own creations makes it probably one of the most accessible ways to learn how to create stuff. The community is super welcoming and open to help everyone, and I'm glad to be a part of it.
This video is really good. I will be using this as my go to for showing off the platform.
Thank you so much for creating this.
Yesssssssss! I saw you join the creator jam discord a couple months ago, so I knew something was in the works. Glad to see Resonite getting much needed attention. Hope you all enjoy this wonderful platform and it's wonderful community!
I world hopped to your studio the other day and went exploring there, I think it's cool that people can see and explore where you film
I see why you made the comparison to Ready Player One instead of VR Chat. My jaw dropped with both the interactivity and fidelity in Kulza's Record Shop. Something about the experience made me feel like you're actually there.
thanks for doing a spotlight and talk about this.
i think i came across this platform a month or so ago with some of their older videos some other influencers did on it.
this looks really promising and cool.
This is an incredible video! Great showcasing and it just kept getting better and better - I'm legitimately blown away. This goes past gimmicky and "kinda works good enough" and is what I feel like we'd always hoped VR would be.
I’m sold. Haven’t been in VR in a minute but this looks like a lot of fun
Fantastic showcase! You showed off some stuff I've never even thought possible! Great inspiration for me to try harder, thanks!
2:35, technically you could set up characters and worlds within any game regardless of the engine, the developers just gotta add that functionality.
However adding the functionality is easier when you know the in's and out's of the engine, and Unity can be very rough around the edges
This needs more exposure and a simple things for simple people. Right now there are way to few people to call it a social platform. Creating an easy way for the people to grab content and use it, and advertising it (even through a passive "ay, look what I found" kind), would bring a huge competition to VRChat.
There are people who may want to make stuff in VR and the ones who want to just see cool things, but that ratio is about 1:100.
But if that's gotten big I'd love to see the chaos it brings with *this* many ways to interact.
VR in general just needs more advertising. I didn’t even know this game existed and it looks amazing!!
might not be a popular comparison, but I see this as close as it gets, and even out-doing Second Life, in VR. This makes me happy, and probably going to be in VR a lot more with this!
Very popular comparison, many of my old Second Life friends have migrated over to Resonite! The fundamental concept of building stuff in-game together with others is pretty similar, and it gets much less in your face (ProtoFlux is much more approachable and nicer to work with than LSL, worlds can be created on a whim and you don't have to pay rent for virtual real estate etc.)
Resonite deserves so much credit, the development team and friends are doing such good work. ✨
This looks truly incredible. I'm so glad I stumbled on your video because I could have very easily dismissed Resonite as an unnecessary title or a VR chat clone. You've made it clear that this is essential to the VR space, it's exactly what VR needs.
I'm going to have to think hard about what I want to be in this game, as it seems you can be anything you want.
i played neos before it fell apart and i heard thats where this game was made from, its got a massive learning curve but has one of the most helpful communities i have ever seen. excited to try out resonite.
Seeing Resonite in frame rates higher then 30 is so cool. If they fixed the fps issue I'd love to jump in more, I just get to motion sick.
There's a community vote going on currently about the next major development focus, if performance is most important to you I suggest voting for it!
Great video! This is a great overview of all the different types of things to be made within Resonite :D
Glad you tried out the game us all have put thousands of hours in that are in the community, its very addicting. Been playing almost every day for a long time.
Thank you for another great video about this platform. I hope to see more people come to create and just enjoy each other and the things everyone has already created. We have such a great and welcoming community, and we hope to see it keep growing.
Absolutely loved the video, thanks for showing off all of our hard work :D, I hope this will inspire many to give the platform a try
i know a couple of the devs, but only through my friends. theyre all great. and chaos and violence is completely normal in resonite
wow, this is absolutely INSANE. I love your VR channel.
I'm far from a VR enthusiast, I can't even afford any headsets, but dang this has really gotten my imagination running wild!
Especially SoundEgg/Kulza's segment really got me thinking. So many people lament the downfall of record and video stores, their old memories of searching shelves upon shelves of items for the perfect product to take home, actions with an almost ritualistic quality to them. But records and tapes need to be produced and distributed, outlets need to be built and maintained, and the products take up space at home. Streaming and digital downloads win in so many aspects. But a VR record store sounds so perfect for those who want to amble aimlessly and get pleasantly suprised just like most people could have 30-odd years ago, with none of the drawbacks of physical media.
Of course there will always be a place and value for physical goods, including physical media. I'm just suddenly so excited for all the new ways that VR can combine the best of both worlds!
You can play it in desktop mode
Okay this looks really cool. It's a good sign that they are able to sponsor a video, it's a signal to me of potential longevity if they have some real backing. I will be installing this to create things!
That’s so cool! I love the concept of resonite
Fuck yeah, I was hoping the Neos guys that split off would get back together like this.
FANTASTIC video!
The energy was so high and everything looked so new and exciting! I'll definitely be trying this when I get home!
Nice covering of Resonite Phia ! looks amazing !
Only watched up to the record shop then immediately downloaded the game and have been playing for a few days. Made my avatar and everything and now I'm finishing the video 😅
This is absoooolutly AMAZING, Ive been playing vr since 2017 and seeing how everything has evolved has been absolutely MAGICAL, and I only recently got into vrc and with FBT, and now seeing these interactions gives me so much hope for vr and the core of the community truly building everything out and creating our own realities within virtual reality.
Yes! Thank you for doing a video on resonite. I cant wait to see more people come in here and make new things!
I'm obsessed, this looks so cool! My only issue is that I've finally gotten used to Unity and customizing avatars for VRChat after 2 years of learning. That's part of the reason I bailed on ChilloutVR to go back to VRChat. I'm too comfortable, and I've dedicated waaaay too much time to learning Unity to move to any other platform.
Seeing teams of Recursion I started to feel really giddy, and then seeing soundegg I started to almost cry. outside looking in that game and the people in it feels magical.
those maps, that dang steam engine, they said it isn't animated.. that means that they researched into how a steam engine works and it uses the math of one to run that?? A working steam engine in the physics engine that actively moves?? I've only seen such in stand alone physics simulators!
then hearing how in soundegg, they organize the record shop and you can even move the needle on the record, that attention to detail is more than beautiful.
Rustybot is just a cyberpunk self modifying warmachine.
WendigoWren, and Crimson Taylor they are absolutely just living their best lives. like those avatars feel so passion driven and their interactions are very sweet.
Vbunny's side of things felt like a child's imagination, brought to life in the most fantastic way.
When I opened this video I was not expecting to feel as moved as I am, but geez does this fill me with motivation!
I feel really eager to experience such first hand. seriously I did not expect this video would make me so emotional and inspired!
Thank you for documenting your journey through Resonite, to share your experience.

Such an awesome video Phia! I can't wait to explore this game more!
This looks amazing! Very cool video, nicely edited. Thanks for sharing!
This is so cool! One thing that concerns me a bit is all the griefing that could happen
Session hosts can kick or ban anyone
I've tried this a few times and have never been able to find people to interact with. Almost everyone is hiding within private instances. UA-camrs and other influencers kind of get through a lot of gates that players would normally find to be closed to them. Unless something's changed or unless you can bring a bunch of friends and someone who actually knows what they're doing along, this is incredibly hard to get into.
Just go to your world menu and click on active sessions there's always a few that you can join
Thank you for giving Resonite the attention it deserves. I think what's preventing people from switching from VRChat to Resonite is that VRChat simply has the numbers. We need to tip the scale so that people start going to Resonite instead and videos like this help a lot, so thank you again.
I will say that sometimes it's nice to have a dedicated "editor" to work on your avatar and not require someone to actually launch the client itself. I believe they are working on that, but I could be wrong. That being said, the ability to create content and not interact with "dead" worlds is monumental, unlike VRChat.
I REALLY like this game, but I always decide against playing it because of the minuscule around of player numbers who are actually in public joinable worlds. I had the same problem with Neos too. Its just too empty for me to really enjoy. If this game gains some traction, I can totally see it becoming my go to. Hopefully this does better than Neos. I am WILLING it does better than Neos.
At prime hours there are usually a handful of public worlds with >10 people in them. On a Friday or Saturday night I can hop between several of them and socialize for hours on end.
Great to see more coverage on Resonite! Looks like I know the act to follow, lol
Look forward to seeing your video!
Gonna have to check this out thanks for bringing it to light Phia! Lots of love from Joshosh & the rest of us! We love your videos!
now THIS makes me need to fix my PC for VR as soon as possible because this is amazing, this inspires me too much and i need to get into it more
The Ben 10 character just simplified what it means to be an interactive world, and made it mush more immersive, based on the presentation
Instead of going into a menu and selecting from a written list or URL as he said, they created a visual and seemingly physical representation of a game prompt in world. Without spelling it out for you, listing in a normal format that breaks immersion and telling you [Press f to select character], but because it's Interactive and you are visually stimulated aas well as prompted by what looks like a button, it appears familiar without being Obvious that it's just another menu form.
So this is litterally Second Life VR.
I hope this game will have a big community, you can see the devs actually cared
Seeing everything in this, kind of reminds me of the early, EARLY days of VRChat like 2017-early 2018, where people were openly excited about sharing their creations, where it wasn't filled with a bunch of screaming 12-year-olds, where people.... ACTUALLY HAD FUN.
This is really what I've dreamed VR to be.
However, what's to stop trolls with so much freedom? If each map has a consistent versioning and even models and coding are editable; how do you prevent bad actors from bricking your creations or worse?
Only those with permissions can modify and save over a world. Don't like changes someone else made? Don't save the world. You can also make it so that problematic users don't have build permissions or are banned from the session. Hope this helps!
@@cometkumavo Who decides permission though?
in VRChat I can filter who and what I see client-side. In Resonite the entire world can be edited. Do I have autonomy over my own avatar, at least? Can I decide who can and can't edit my avatar?
What about the world, who decides who can and can't edit the world I'm in? Is there a singular host that decides that? If I join a public world by another host to try to find friends, do I put my being/avatar/inventory at risk instead of just risking a crash due to another player's laggy or troll avatar?
If Resonite is so powerful, open source, and can even read/write(?) files on my PC (like viewing or editing a PDF); are there vulnerabilities/risks to my system for playing?
Thank you, and sorry for all the questions.
you have spectator, guest, builder, moderator, and admin permissions per session/world that gives various freedoms and restrictions. if someone acts up too much you can kick/ban them from the session, moderation tickets are also a things
@@Mekose i will see if i can awnser all your questions. Lets say you are the host of a world (by you creating it), you are the admin of it (the highest permission), you can grant other players the builder permission to begin editing/building things (default permission is "guest"). No one will be able to build by defualt unless they are your friend (contacts in resonite). If you suspect that someone is breaking the rules to bypass that permission system or is harassing you in some way, make a moderation ticket (and/or kick, ban, remove perms from that player, as you have ultimate control as admin). As for safety with your device, it is safe. There are nodes that can write to your PC, but they cannot function unless your world is in "unsafe" mode (which is beyond the scope of the question as that is a bit more technical, all you need to know is that any world you join is classified as safe, and no one can join an unsafe world). Your avatar (when you make it) will have a component called SimpleAvatarProtection, this stops players from taking your avatar away or saving it (you own that avatar). Your inventory is safe and no one can access that (there is a feature to allow other people to spawn things from your inventory, but that is not talked about a lot and nearly no one uses it (and you have to implicitly activate that, so you cant accedentally do that). Also currently resonite is not open source (yet, from what i hear).
This is so sick wtf
That was very adorable and your friend's home in the end was wild. That dollhouse trick was absolutely amazing too.
The best part about that "trick" is it's just a teleport portal and a camera portal.
And although it wasn't really shown in the video, they are effectively seamless for the user going though them when set up right. They handle scale in Resonite as well which is what was shown.
You can have a lot of fun with non-euclidean geometry using them as well.
This is so awesome. And the weapon making that guy does is amazing
I love WendidoWren's avatar omg !!
OMG I just got a VR Headset this looks phenominal I used to tinker in Second Life years ago coding and modeling my own things this feels like an evolution of it minus the earning potential but wow, is this only available on steam or can it be installed on quest standalone too?
Former SL builder myself. Resonite is what SL wished it could become creatively but is a PC only experience because of its performance demands. They would love to support standalone VR but every attempt in the past fell short unless they drastically lowered the graphics and restricted what users could make to very simple things via external SDK like VRChat does. Once standalone devices can match a gaming PC's performance, they may retry it. They want to unlock the maximum possibilities of VR as a creative platform real-time in sim without relying on external SDK tools. It has OBS and Twitch integration and some vtubers now perform from Resonite. It also has built in web browser, media players, and some REST API/Websoket support to link to external services on the web to use in your sim.
Resonite evolved from another platform called NEOSvr that was not allowed on Steam because Steam does not allow crypto ecoin trading platforms so they had to maintain 2 versions one without ecoins. Neos founders split and the dev team and engine creator quit after a legal battle over the source code rights because some crypto bros one of the founders were friends with forced integration then pumped and dumped their ecoin and almost made some people homeless so crypto is a very dirty word in the core community. Resonite does import/export standard file formats used by game engines for all the assets. Making assets for money though would be easier with blender and Photoshop and selling on stores like Turbosquid.
@@eltreum1 Thanks for that, I dont care so much about a revenue stream as that was only a bonus I used to give my stuff away in SL till my RL wife and a good SL friend ganged up on me to sell it instead lol I just miss the creativity and freedom that came with it.
I will have to order a USB cable for my Quest 2 and give this a look I was truly smiling the entire time I was watching this video because of what this stood for.
I'm definitely gonna have to drop in on Resonite as soon as I can, that was an amazing showcase!
Big Ready Player One vibes. Especially the record shop part. Reminded me a lot of how they could interact with the item's in H's workshop in the movie! I need to get on Resonite :o also hopefully way less rude kids or toxic players :'> ❤ I loved this video.
From my experience Resonite regulars are SO nice and so willing to help you with any questions. It's honestly refreshing and motivating.
The community is super welcoming and helpful. You'll easily find someone to show you the ropes. In regards to toxicity, we have a super engaged moderation team that takes action if things escalate, but usually the first instance is going to be the session host, since they are resonsible for moderating what happens in their session. In regards to rude kids, well, moderation + the minimum age of 16 kind of result in me never having experienced that in my ~1400 hours on the platform.
Ngl, the record shop segment kinda made me a little sad. Don't get me wrong, it's really cool, I'm just in the headspace rn where the only thing I could think was that this is all we young people have as future prospects. Virtually nobody my age could start a real record store if we wanted to.
