yo folks ,you have 4 year old fuel in the tank, so not so good, I would also get a can of easy start to spray in the air intake to give it a chance ,also check for a spark at the plugs if it doesnt fire up ,also if it is not an automatic push the clutch pedal in when you enagage the starter it will help to spin the engine over faster

She is a cutie for sure. I was under the impression that she would be bilingual but it seems not.
Gas separates over time and needs a stabilizer to keep it good. (This I learned with my snowblower.)
It’s said that scent memories produce the strongest response when we’re exposed to that smell again years later. When Luca opened the door to the truck the smell brought memories flooding back.
Huh? He said there were no odors. Hard to believe since mice chew plastics like carpeting, pillows and urinate to mark territory. Should wear masks and gloves and clothing protection or Hunta virus from mice.
Such a frustrating and bittersweet situation for you guys. I hope that everything will come together for you and that in the meantime you get to rest and have some fun in beautiful Argentina and Uruguay. 💗

You should try using Starter Fluid! It’s a spray for the Carburetor . Remove the air cleaner and spray directly into the Carb , but keep your face well away and back incase of backfiring! Also put water evaporater additive in the fuel tank, and some fresh
high octane gasoline
Into the tank.
And new oil. Just sitting caused oil age. Then jumping it with proper ampage and charge it for way longer. Could take an hour.

Why give this to anyone other than this couple? It's not some spirit hiding out on some planet that gets new oil, a longer jump and proper amp to turn it over. Give this man some credit, not a belief ! 😂

4 year old gas is probably bad , most gas starts breaking down after 6 months starting fluid should get it to run for a few seconds so you know to replace the gas.
Oil too. Oil is old after 4 months whether driving or not. Plus needs primed. Not starting it actually does damage to motors...same with airplanes.

The bureaucracy you are having to deal with, when all you want to do is the right thing, must be incredibly frustrating. Just add it to the long list of things you have dealt with and learnt throughout your travelling live, thus turning it into a positive. 'The hard times make you strong.'

In uk we have scrap yards that take old broken down vehicles then crush them. Shame there's not a scrap yard in Argentina. Wishing you the best outcome.💚
I thought the truck would start. It might very well be the gas because that happened to my Mother's older car when she didn't drive it all winter. Lots of memories in that camper! Is Luca drinking coffee now? ❤❤❤
4 years is a long time
you have 4 year old fuel!! you must drain it all out first and then pour new fuel in. It may start then!!!

I'm so sorry this has turned into such a big deal. Praying you are able to solve this issue quickly. In the US we have junk yards that will come and take away our old cars so they can sell the parts. They provide a release so that we are no longer responsible for the car. Sometimes they even pay us some money for it, depending on how old the car/RV/van is. I wish they had a place like that in Buenos Aires.
Hello! In 1989-90, I was in a vaguely similar situation with a car in Europe, in which I had to surrender my license plates and paperwork. Since doing this meant that I could no longer drive the car legally, I didn’t know what to do. The person in the office advised me, secretly, when his coworker left the room, to burn my car. He said the government would be forced to claim the vehicle if it was burned. I was 20 years old, and had no clue how to go about this. I went as far as asking people how to burn a car. It seemed impossible and dangerous, and I decided it could be disastrous. I was in a large city and my car was parked in an area with a lot of people around. I thought, what if my car was stolen? I decided that they couldn’t hold me responsible for it if it was stolen. So, I left it open, and someone clearly went inside it and rummaged around. Then, I “accidentally” left the keys inside…and I never saw it again! No one was ever so happy to have their car stolen. Such a relief!
I know this isn’t a possibility for you, but I truly hope you find someone in the government who is flexible and finds a solution that is reasonable and safe for everyone.
Imagine...✍️If the car stolen and later on found by Police but with another case... ..* the vehicle involve in drug illegal business*.. ✍️ . .. leaving the car not a good solution because it will create another problem in future....
What a whole lot of bureaucratic nonsense! I can't believe that you can't give the vehicle to the first mechanic to cut it up in order to sell the metal.
Can anyone recommend to you a volunteer attorney in Buenos Aires, who can make your goose chase easier? As an expatriate trying to arrange stuff remotely, I feel your pain… kudos for being responsible and caring to travel so far away to make things ok. You need to drain the gas tank and add fresh fuel. Your fuel has gone bad.
As an alternative solution, can you have the vehicle transported outside of the country like by a car hauler company?

I would look into a transport company that can haul it out of the country for you. There are ones that do this sort of thing all the time and if you can find one with a partial load it would be cheaper. Hopefully this gets resolved before you have to head back!

You can use just a little starter fluid on the intake throttle body . Also if it's been setting that long You need fresh gas, not trying to get in your business but I own a fleet of old ford's

Start simple work it from there
If you can get starter fluid you can use a large syringe with gas .
If you give It fuel manually and it fires you know the problem is in the fuel delivery system.

Needs to be primed because gas dry up at pump. Plus needs to be charged for a longer time before it turns over. Old oil too.
Why don't you find a junk yard and ask them what you could do ??? They probably would know how to handle the demo!!! Make sure you remove the plates. You both look good and Lucia is growing rapidly and congrats to Sara with her new arrival coming soon amd mabye Luca will have a son this time or another beautiful girl---Good luck to

here in the US we have non profits that take even junk vehicles and they sell the the vehicle to a scrap metal company

Imo, car shld be turned on at least once a week, as it is it was stuck for 4 years. In that situation, car could need overhaul.

Can you contact the Italian embassy to help you, especially since you don’t have much time?
Shame, how frustrating. And of course, it’s not an “easy” situation as neither you guys nor the car are Argentinean. Having imported a car within the EU (from one EU country to another EU country) that wasn’t cheap and it was a big process. It took ages and that was using an agent. In your case, being on temporary tourist visas and the vehicle being on a temporary permit for it to be legally allowed to be in the country. And of course, that being suspended during the past 4 years. Then the fact that vehicle is also registered and from Canada, sure does complicate it… can understand how it’s not leaving much in the way of options. But I pray and hope something works out in your favour to help you be finally able to close this chapter.
Forget trying to start it to drive away. There will be so many other breakdowns!!.
Think about having it put onto a trailer to be transported out. Could of course be expensive but you don't have the time or energy to waste trying to drive it.

Never try to start an old vehicle that contains OLD gasoline or oil. especially several years old! You will ruin the engine. You need to tow it to a mechanic, have him drain old gas, put in new gas & new oil.
Has it really been four years?! We are all getting older.
