You don’t need a leg. Weld on a small triangle to the underside so that it makes contact with the plastic of the truck tailgate. Just make sure it’s a tight fit or do it so it has some preload so that you gotta give it a good push down to firm up the fitment. And make sure you round off the edges of the triangle cut. And maybe a small flat portion to the end so it doesn’t penetrate the plastic.
you should go with a third drawer slide so you have two at the bottom and use a triangular piece to distribute the load across all three slides. This will reduce the racking of the upright part.

Why not fabricate a fold down leg for that corner?
Of course yeah I could. But I think it’s cooler with no leg. I may still make one just in case. For now though this works.
