- This performance took place at Otakuthon, an anime convention in Montréal, (Québec, Canada) on the first day of three on August 5th 2022.
This event was a part of the "Otakuthon all-stars", one of the convention's main events in room 517CD.
The event consisted of various people with different sets of skills (mostly consisting of dancing and singing), performing to the audience.

SOMETHING: THE RISE OF SUNNY
Brother of the pianist here. Every day, I was hearing my sister practice this piece for the day she and her friend would play it on stage. My sister is a very hard worker and was hard on herself after the duet over her own performance, which I find was amazing, despite what she said about it. I am glad to see that many here share the same opinion as me.
Sis, if you're reading this, I'd like to insist that you've done an amazing job out there. You gave it your all, overcame your stage fright, and won the hearts of many. Do not downplay your own achievements. Be proud.

my favourite thing about this is how they replicated sunny's ever-so-slightly shaky playing because it's such an emotional part of the game for (us and for him), this is absolutely beautiful

I wish I could've! But their performance was among many others, since they were participating in a competition against other performers, and I couldn't find their names afterwards (since they weren't the main event). Hopefully they find this video and see your comment :)
@mikal apron My school did this too and I was Mari ... We even dressed like those 2 my close friend was sunny (she's a girl) and she was so happy playing it and I was crying as I knew the truth about this song and she didn't

@@tabby844 It was the last performance, a guy that did by himself a piano arrangement of many popular anime openings and songs. This was actually the only other piano performance at this event (the others were mostly singing and dancing). His performance was good also, the judges chose him for a reason, but I wanted these two to win 🌸💖

The imperfect playing is actually what makes it perfect. The violin almost sounds like it's crying, like a whimper. Really adds the emotion to the piece.
i'm pretty sure the shaky notes are called a vibrato and it's when you intentionally wobble the bow a little so the long notes sound more emotional but if you weren't talking about that then yeah fr

@@frogchamp.4697 no, vibrato is when you vibrate the left hand fingers and wobbling the bow is usually seen in a bad way but works here

@@frogchamp.4697hey! violinist here ☺️ vibrato is moving your wrist/arm (there are different kinds), essentially moving your fingers in the process to create a richer, more professional tone 🙂 the bow has no part in it!

But actually, I didn't film it, but the girl dressed as mari messed up some of the notes when she started playing at first, got nervous and stopped playing. After she focused and overcame she ended up doing this amazing performance. It was really beautiful

it's a good thing they performed this at a convention. Because i feel if this was in any other place, even though it's an amazing performance. And a beautiful piece. Not many would probably know it. And so it makes me really happy to hear the roaring applause in that split second at the end. They very much deserve it! And just like the people near the start of the performance. I'm in tears :"D

This is the best recital that i’ve seen on 2023 and i’ll explain why:
1 - The song is the exact same song from omori
2 - They are literally interpreting sunny and mari
3 - If you have been played omori or know the lore,knows that this was going to happen,so see this happening in real life really messes with the emotional to people,making this more catchy.
This is so heartwarming and heartbreaking too btw.
Now I'm visualizing that OMORI is R E A L.

So I've never played Omori, but I'm a violinist and my brother is a pianist and this always moves me so much.. Both of us are autistic/depressed and this just makes me want to cry so much every time I hear it.. Knowing Omori's sister is gone. I promised myself to always take care of him no matter what, because I love him and that's what an older sibling is supposed to do.
