I Love Teriyaki McBurger
I Love George 😳
Hello George
こんにちはジョージ (I don't if the grammar is right, because I only just started learning Japanese)
Proud of you George!
@Kamala Kanta Narzary You don't???
McDonald's should have a poll for each restaurant every couple months to import menu items from around the world, it would be very refreshing.
that'd be sick but probably costs a lot of money
That would be great, probably would only be in cities only though
@@leonardodearaujo8243 itd make a lot too
Didn’t they have a burger from Spain a few years ago?
@@snausages43 Correct, and not just from Spain. I remember back in 2019, there was an event wherein McDonald's brought in some of their menu items from around the world, including a couple of burgers from Australia and Spain, and a McFlurry from outside the U.S. (I don't remember where from, sorry guys). I remember trying one of the two burgers and thinking it was such a pity that these items weren't there to stay, because it was pretty good. I also live in San Jose, which is a major California city, in the San Francisco Bay Area, so it would make sense that the promotion would be there, in addition to other densely-populated cities.
Okay, lets take a moment to appreciate Japanese McDonald's packaging design, so cute!
Nice
I'm pretty sure it's the original packaging design the restaurant used when they first became a franchise.
@@eddmario yes your right
@@eddmario yea since I watched "the founder" movie reveled brief history of Mcd before they used the current golden arch logo which is that burger man looking mascot, I guess Japan appreciate the classic feel they decide to use the old design of the packaging
Plus they laid it out cute. We just opened everything and plopped it down. Ha

Also, who thinks they should send me to Tokyo to try the exclusives irl? That’d be a good series, right???
That’d be great!
Yes
I definitely agree it would be good. I actually would like too see the US, UK & Japan branches work together on a food wars episode or really any series you decide to do and get completely different perspective (one American, one European & one Asian perspective)

@@dylana9056 It’s well known that Taco Bell, KFC, McDonald’s, and Burger King are worse in the US than outside (cause the fast food chains actually need to improve their product and experience to compete against the locals every time they expand). The only real exemption is probably the Nordic countries and Greenland and Iceland (cause they’re just so dang expensive).

I lived in Japan for a year, here's what I want to add: the names of the chicken sandwiches in Japan are so good that they should be adopted by Mcdonalds worldwide. These are Spachiki (spicy chicken) and Chikichi (chicken cheese). Try to say these words out loud, they are simply fun.
Only a year?
@@f8widescat392 you know that philosophy thing where you can't step into the same river twice? Things in Japan are like that. The only condiments that are a permanent fixture on the menu are ketchup and mustard, all other condiments just changes every two weeks or so whether they're good or bad (same as with the Kit Kats and many other products in Japan, you just can't get too attached.) Because Japan is always changing like that, a year seems like you've just seen one cycle of something much bigger.

Awesome idea tbh
UK vs Japan vs US was the first thing I thought! That would be amazing though
No........
I never knew that is how you break and squeeze sauce - I have learned something new today! Thanks mate!
It's hard to compare Japan's menu to other countries' because they always have "seasonal" limited menu items that's rotated every 2-3 months.
And we did use to have quarter pounders here, they removed them from the menu and replaced them with a different, smaller "high end" type burger, the name of which is slipping my mind at the moment. That type of burger also ended up being removed some time later. They seem to mostly focus on low price items now, and they also have a thing where you can double the number of patties on any burger for 100 yen for people who want something bigger.
My personal Japan-exclusive favourite is the egg cheese, but I order it without pickles and ketchup and add my own Sriracha mayonnaise.
Can I double the patty on any burger?🤔
I'd like to try it on a Big Mac
@@pdtatmhmgYou can also double the Big Mac. By Japanese

Japan has anywhere from 1-3 special burgers on their menu at a time. Some are absolutely delicious, others kinda weird. Not a huge fan of the teriyaki stuff but their Ebi- shrimp burger is addicting- they just had a garlic shrimp variation this last month. Had a limited time menu item this morning- the cheese locomoco muffin (mcmuffin) and i think it beats out the Mega mentioned in this video as the best breakfast sandwich. Mcdonalds is currently much cheaper than when this video was made as the yen has fallen. I. Can get a meal for about $5. Overall, the quality is very good at mcdonalds japan, far surpassing quality in the states. However, no free refills and you have to ask for small dipping packets of ketchup.

one of my favorite things to have for dessert is dropping a scoop of vanilla ice cream in either fanta orange or root beer. floats do well in the us, at least in the northeast. unsure why mcdonald’s didn’t cash in on this.
Would've been funny in the ice cream segment if Joe had said, "in the U.S. we have... wait. Our ice machines are broken." Lol
"...Yes, ALL of them. No, we're not exaggerating."
As someone who's eaten McDonald's in about half a dozen different countries, I can say that American McDonald's is easily the worst I've had. By a lot. The quality of the ingredients just seems so much lower, and yet it's somehow more expensive.
McDonald's in the UK and Germany actually tastes like real food. McDonald's in the US tastes like chemical warfare.

french mc donald is underwhelming
I'm also very surprised that America und Japan has both These plastic straws. In Germany we have paper straws and i hate Them 😂

I really love Mc soft twist. When I was traveling to America for several years, I was shocked to find that no matter which store I went to, I was told that they couldn't provide the products because the machines were broken. My beloved birthplace of McDonald's, please keep the soft twist machine from breaking...
In Hawaii we don't have any of those items except for the terri burger but ours comes with the sauce on it & is only around for limited times during the year (like the McRib). I wish we had that Loco Moco burger. It looks so good!
When I was in Japan I got McDonalds delivered to our Air BnB and I requested a happy meal. The cute girl who delivered brought a boys AND a girls happy mean so I could choose which one I needed. It was super thoughtful. Love Japan.

McDonald's are the worst food in the world.they made from ground noses, eyes, arms and more.
US medium fries are less than the medium fries in japan.
This show is the reason why I started ordering small everything in the US

Us large is cheap, always get large. Anywhere else i get the small/medium

@@basharkano9658 yea but I can’t top myself from eating all the fries or drinking all the soda since I buy while driving home. I Don’t want the calories
I actually like the sausage biscuit with egg. McDonald's hashbrowns are also a guilty pleasure. I do find that McDonalds for breakfast doesn't leave me feeling very good. I also don't feel like "dry" does American biscuits justice in general. Dry on the outside, fluffy on the inside, tangy buttermilk flavor, and they lend themselves to a lot of other flavors. They can't be too soft and fluffy, cause they're made to go with gravy, butter, and very rich meats like sausage and fried chicken.
First time watching this videos. This is great!
As someone that's visited Japan and tried a teriyaki burger, I can say that it should be illegal to not try one if anyone's ever there. They will change your life!

George is a fantastic addition to the series, we finally have a country that can stand up with the USA for it's exclusives!
They kinda owned us on that. I was surprised he's here. George has some good informational content on YT.
I recommend going to McDonald's in Japan at night.
At night, you can double the patty for an extra 100 yen.
Now it is only $0.7 because of the weak yen.
If you get a Double Cheeseburger or a Big Mac, you get 4 patties.
Wow!🎉
Also, I prefer the Teriyaki Chicken Burger to the Teriyaki Burger.
This burger also has double patty at night.
Samurai Mac is not included because it has a different patty, but it is definitely tastier than the regular patty, so of course I recommend that as well.
Give it a try.😉
Funny to see a Teriakyi burger. I can't have tomatoes due to GERD and other issues, so I tried to find a replacement to sauce my burgers with.
I tried Teriyaki on my homemade hamburger, and it was a great alternative. Funny enough, Japan's Mcdonalds does the same thing, lool.
My at home one was fantastic, so I have no doubt they love it :)

You guys made me want to eat Macdonald’s!!
We can’t eat Mexican cuisines in Macdonald of Japanese. So I’m a little envious about that.
When I lived in Japan about 17 years ago, MacDonald's had a burger called the McGrand. It had a creamy Dijon mustard sauce and a thick beef patty along with lettuce, tomatoes, and so on. It was so good that I still think about it occasionally. I was really disappointed when I moved back to Canada and it wasn't on the menu here.

Do they sell wine at the Canadian McDonads?
@@josephtorres3229 Why do you want wine with a burger…
We have it here in Qatar too!! But it’s called a grand chicken
The Japanese mcdos packaging is pretty awesome. From the sauce packets to the shaked chicken bag, pretty ingenious. Also, anyone know why they have so many pork burgers vs beef burgers?
Not sure, but my guess would be that it's because of Hambagu, the Japanese version of a Hamburg Steak which is the origin of the Hamburger, which is incredibly popular in Japan and is primarily made with pork.
Bc pork is more delicious.
I believe it's because beef is way more expensive in their country than in the US 🤔😅
Hi, I'm in Japan. We have the basics like Big Mac and double cheeseburger etc with beef, but 100% beef is more rare, more expensive as well. A lot of the ground meat in supermarkets is mixed beef/pork. Pork is more popular and readily available, as well as cheaper. Also often mixes better with some of the japanese flavors like the teriyaki sauce on the burger etc.
bc they dont support Islam and aren't forced to
We have got 2 versions of QP in Sweden , regular and dubbel..
I always choose between the QP and the dubbel cheese 😊
We have M&M's McFlurry in Brazil too! I love it.
We also have Quarter Pounder here.
The Japanese food in this season will crush the American foods

Loved every bit of this episode ! Welcome, George!
Best way I can think to describe a US/Canadian biscuit is that it is a small leavened quick bread that is firm on the outside and soft (and possibly crumbly) inside. These biscuits are usually not sweet, but they can be used as a platform for savory or sweet fillings or toppings, and can feature in any meal of the day.
Loving the start to this season; George has great screen presence.
Japan Mcdonald’s is the greatest in the world
we have グラコロバーガー(in winter spring)&月見バーガー(in fall,autumn)
I tried the QPC Deluxe recently and it's actually really good.
As a former McDonald's employee, a few things to note. I worked in a McDonald's in Oklahoma.
The eggs; the folded ones you typically get are frozen and slapped on a grill. We do have legit eggs too, they are on like the egg McMuffin. However the egg white delights are poured from a carton of just egg whites.
Also in Oklahoma anyways, we had parfaits, bagels, ànd biscuits and gravy. Which really broke my heart when I moved to Oregon to find out that you can't get those everywhere. Also I believe they stopped their oatmeal raisin cookies, another heartbreak truly.
I miss the oatmeal raisin cookies

The packaging reminded me of pretty patties from SpongeBob.
Ngl Japan beat the US on mcdonalds not only did that meal cost less in Japan it was probably healthier and fresher

Canadian salsa 🤣🤣🤣 love the humor in this
Still waiting for McDonald's France and the McBaguette (yes, that's a real thing)
Europe and Asia always get the cool stuff. Here in Canada we rarely get anything interesting as we follow the US menu. But it's even more restricted than the American one making it boring unless you're from a smaller area. They'll diversify better in small towns to try to get business, but when it gets too successful they'll remove anything interesting from the menu and it'll get boring again.
I hope we get a US vs UK vs Japan episode.
It would be really fun to see George, Harry and Joe work off each other.
Canada has had the Quarter Pounder with Cheese for decades.
We also have a Quarter Pounder BLT (Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato), and a double (wouldn't that be a Half Pounder?)
a Western BBQ Quarter Pounder which has bacon, crispy onions and smoky barbeque sauce on it, and a double version of the same
a Grand Big Mac, which has 2 large patties and bacon on it.
We also have a double Big Mac too, which has FOUR patties on it.
BUt my favorite in the world was the McAustralia - which had teriyaki sauce and a pineapple ring on it, and was only available during the Beijing Summer Olympics in 2008, when I happened to be there.
サムライマック、本当に美味しい。神商品。定番メニュー化してきてて最高
A lot of the menu items in Japanese Mcdonalds change frequently because they're always trying new things. Short term, innovative novelty items sell well in Japan.
Mcd in Japan makes our McDonald's look like garbage food I tried it and my gosh so much better
as someone who lives in japan = youre right! the japanese always try new things according to the season we're in (fall, winter, halloween, christmas etc)
actually the mcdonalds canada menu does the same!
Led me to think
That's also something I noticed between the two countries I've lived in. My home country also changes the menu frequently because they add limited or seasonal items on it, whereas the menu in Germany has very much stayed the same. If they introduce something and it does well, they'll make it a permanent item but that happens very rarely. Oftentimes they'll just bring back items that have done fairly good but it's nothing like a novelty food. The best example would be the spicy nuggets.
"We cant find grape soda in USA"

Whahahahahah, thanks for the laugh.
Well, in his defense, grape isn't the most popular flavor of soda here. At least not in the Midwest. For example, I can always find Orange Crush, but Grape Crush is nowhere to be seen. Going into a convenience store, there's nearly every flavor imaginable of different sodas... except grape. Now, you can find grape Koolaid and grape juice pouches and, of course, grape juice. But no grape soda. Or at least not that often.

Australia feels like a weird mixture of both. We have floats etc. but we seem closer to the American menu.
When I went to the states but I couldn’t handle the bread. It was waaaaaaaay too sweet.
I would totally love to see the same concept on USA versus SKorea.
I'm so surprised that the US doesn't have mcfloats. Here in NZ, we call it spidas. Coke and vanilla ice cream is the best one but you can make spida with any ice cream and any soda/fizzy drink.
Ikr!
Remember when we had the chocolate Fanta spidas? Omg was so good like jaffa flavored
Honestly, I think the reason the McDonald's in the US don't serve floats is because of the persistent breaking of the ice cream machines.
You can just make one yourself. We have the ingredients.
seriously ... I mean they have the ice cream ... it would be a no brainer just to add it to the menu.
Former McDonald's employment here, there's actually about eight or so different quarter pounder and big mac options that aren't on the menu but are in the system.
