And speaking of the best largest public restrooms back in the day, Imma take ya way back. Gimbel's, Wanamaker's and Lit Brothers had the absolute best swanky restrooms in Center City. The best everything period. Wow I really miss those stores. 🙂 Edit: Philly has the best murals. There's a group of wonderful artists that does them, getting the talented children artists of Philly involved. 😎 Nice video, I've liked and subscribed. 🙂
From Philly. I went to the High School for the Creative and Performing Arts with my Buddies Tony Luke and Franco Borda. I now live in Key West and I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work
Hi Captain, out of all the videos made of Philadelphia and Kensington, you're the most informative and the most enjoyable to watch and listen to. Please keep up the great work.
Great vid and history tour as always Captain. My dad and stepmom are actually Quaker. Philly has so many little spots that others just don't know about...always nice to just get out and explore our fine city. Go Phillies...I told you a few months ago at the Phillies game when things weren't looking too good...always believe in...The Hunt for Red October!
Basically stores are closing everywhere not just Philly. The economy has been bad for many many many years now with no real recovery. And the pandemic didn't help anything. And Philly does have some beautiful areas like Rittenhouse Square,I love the parks around there. That's my hometown, and I hate the bad rap that it gets. Philly has some of the most helpful, kindest, coolest people in the world.😎
I worked at the Macy's building on the 4th floor and top floor for an advertising company. I loved working there and just walking around the area on my lunch breaks. Then I would take the L home. I miss Philly! I live in Ohio now. Def. want to come back and visit soon.
Hey Capt. I’m an Adam the Woo fan and got to say your content is much better than what I saw on ATW channel. New subscriber btw 👍. I now understand your passion for Philly
Hey Capt. Love the Philly scooter tour the Philly municipal building had the ex-c commissioner / Mayor Frank Rizzo Statue. It was there for years! LOVE THE RICH HISTORY OF OUR CITY OF PHILADELPHIA 😊 GLAD YOU'RE MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR EVERYONE.😊 YOUR THE BEST.!! GOD BLESS AND BE SAFE.😊
I've no interest at all in touring most US cities now, including Philly. If I want to experience crime I'll just watch youtube. You cannot have civil society with certain elements within it.
Goin on a looooong history scoot! Nice! The Wanamakers building at Christmas. Good memories. Not sure your old enough to remember the Christmas monorail on the 8th floor. Nice tour of the city Cap #capuncut #allthewayclub
Good for you thinking of your grandpa. I have cerebral palsy but I can walk, and drive a car. I help people with disabilities get around because I want them to have autonomy.
That North Portal of City Hall is the most beautiful entrance/exist. The colored marble columns are beautiful .... And you can see down to the foundations, which are like 20 feet / 6 meters thick in places ...
Love your videos. I grew up in NE. Philly eating soft pretzels with mustard and cherry water ice. Now living in Lone Star Texas. Sure miss Philly. Thanks for the videos. My old friend Andreas dad owned Tony’s Tavern in Port Richmond back in the day. Go Birds
I swear I think the same architects and construction that built Philly they built Baltimore also. The city halls look exactly the same and the row houses and the older buildings look so similar.
i knew i subscribed to your channel for a reason, U workde @ BOYD's !! i use to shop at the market st location in 1983 to 1986 when i enlisted in the military
Entertaining video of Center City, but misses an important point: the overzealous redevelopment of this area. Two huge office/mixed use buildings are presently in construction, one nearly complete, down around South 7th Street below Market. These buildings are making this neighborhood cramped, almost claustrophobic, reducing sunlight and air circulation, adding to the already horrendous vehicular and pedestrian traffic congestion in the area. And, new buildings of smaller scale are also adding to the crowding, as the structures have no setbacks from the sidewalks. The character of the neighborhood is being needlessly changed due to flawed zoning variances. This issue would serve as a fruitful basis for another clip, Captain. But, thanx for your effort on this one.
I watched you several times and my complaint is that you do not know enough history I.e. ST JOHN church on 13th Street or the Earl theater on 12th &market. When you want to west Philly you did not mention Catheral cemetery which help build the bacilla on 18th street. LEARN MORE HISTORY.
Yo whaddaya doin?! it looked like you were about to run over somebody! 😦 You should know better, Philadelphian's don't play that. 😄 Respect the personal space and get out in the street.
That's why i say that Philadelphia and Chicago are distant cousins my friend Rittenhouse Square kinda reminds me of Grant and Millennium Park your Kensington is just like our West Garfield Park
From someone who has lived in both Philadelphia and Chicago, Grant Park and Millennium Park, both little resemble Rittenhouse Square, since both of those parks are much, much larger, and are not squares, surrounded by high rise residences. A closer resemblance, is found in Washington Square, in Chicago. And no neighborhood in Chicago comes close to having the scenes of human degradation, on such a large, explicit, scale and scope, as Kensington in Philadelphia.
Love the priceless fun facts from a real Philadelphian! Always a good time! 😎
And speaking of the best largest public restrooms back in the day, Imma take ya way back. Gimbel's, Wanamaker's and Lit Brothers had the absolute best swanky restrooms in Center City. The best everything period. Wow I really miss those stores. 🙂

Why are the stores in Center City closing ? Let’s all think really hard and maybe we can come up with the answer ! 😂
Amazon...
Chicken swingers and their pet golem horde.
Shoplifting and it’s not a crime any longe? SMH 🤦♀️
Crime and immorality
🤷🏿
@32:29 it blows my mind that there are any Subway sandwiches in Philadelphia. WE EAT HOAGIES!
Exactly!
I was amazed they survived as long as they did when you had so many better local sandwich options for the same price
Been watching your vids. Love the stuff you show and explain. I live next to the city now. I love going to Philly! Its a one of a kind city!
Hi Captain, out of all the videos made of Philadelphia and Kensington, you're the most informative and the most enjoyable to watch and listen to. Please keep up the great work.

Very cool. The City of Brotherly Love. All the good people just walking around doing their thing.
T.I. started doing comedy 😂😂
Why, indeed
The major retail stores are closing, but Philly is building more condos. Is the intent to house the Kensington homeless in them? 😊😊
Rents are too high, that's why.
4:30 random dude, you aren’t helping by laughing at that joke :)
U sound like that guy that does the bad commercials on radio
You have a Pittsburgh accent, you kinda sound like Myron Cope.
No
Yea t.I. Classic cd
What day of the week was this taken? Is Philly so dead?
Macy's light show at Christmas is the Best!!
Why stores are closing u figure it out why eeeek Eeeeeek Eeeeeek
You just broke about 5 common traffic laws
No such thing as traffic laws in Philadelphia
As the Philly Captain has shown us in the past, you can even drive with no insurance in Philly!
