I was hoping Blake would end up passing the guy who called him "******* slow". Took most of the race while riding a full-sus to catch a guy on a hardtail. I think we all know who the slow rider really was.

So he came 144th out of 350 riders... on a hardtail. That is really impressive, he came in the top 40%ish of all riders that passed to the final. And when you consider that to get to the final you have to pass a heat race, there are ten heats of 150 and the top 35 go to the final. So technically... he came 144th out of 1500 riders. And he was on a hardtail... that's pretty incredible.

Hardtails ain't that bad. Stick a 160mm Lyrik up front like Blake and it's surprisingly nice ride and mad fun. Only challenge on a long race like this is that sitting down is rough on a HT.
Yeah, hardtails aren't bad at all. They won't make the riding any harder, just slightly less comfortable.
@@th_js i think Blake would be faster on a fully, HT aint bad and can do stuff, but fully is huge advantage here and one of them is more speed through the harder terrain
@@whitebear96 there's no denying that full suspension is faster most of the time. Especially on gnarly track like that. On flat flowy terrain HT can be faster. I just love riding hardtail and they are so easy to maintain

The avalanche is not referring to the snow, but the riders, contrary to popular belief
This is the perfect example why one should attack challenges in life. Here is physical proof this is possible, and then just think about how much else that also will be.
Respect for doing this. Just fricken love that you did it on a hardtail.
I ride an orange clockwork evo s, much like Blake’s nukeproof scout, it blows me away just how capable these hardtails are. Sure, big full suspension bikes are smoother, but a hardtail teaches you to take the right lines, and when a section gets flat, hardtails are a lot more efficient. Props to you Blake for doing this and I think you will inspire lots of riders!

I would say super nice job Blake! You have made big efforts on the hardtail! Even if you were 144th, everything has meant a lot for you! You have finally raced the real Megaavalanche (beginning from top)! That was an amazing race on the hardtail! Hopefully many people will understand that hardtails can be capable mountainbikes when it comes to races and competitions!
Most of riders do have very little respect, do not even look to their side. Blake is a gentleman, I’d have had some words with a some of them. Thanks for the video, i have been counting the number of times that i would have died.
