beautiful song, despite technical difficulties. Pats voice is as golden and unique as the first song I'd ever heard him sing. RIP, sing with the angels...
RIP Pat!! Always the showman, it's pretty obvious to me she can't hear a thing through the monitor speakers.....unless she's harmonizing to some guy in the front row singing it in the key of Jack Daniels.
I always loved this song, but only recently realized it was inspired by the 1950 Humphrey Bogart movie, In a Lonely Place. “I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me.” ― Humphrey Bogart
They were deeper and more fun that Elvis. C. Their in-store show at Tracks Records was great, as was seeing them wander through the parking lot. Their boathouse shows were as good as anyones during the 80s. Thanks also to Donny D. for getting it down on tape in the early days. Rip Pat. Your music continues. Where can i find your book?
It must have been a bad day for her she was really off key I had a chance in Chicago seeing them I was so wasted as the first and only time I ever danced on a bar
One of the best nights ever! I was so fortunate to see my favorite song played live!
great song... glad we have 2 videos of the song...
This is cold water to the face. Never knew that there was a video for this song, much less this performance. Awesome!!
One of the most underrated songs ever

For me.... This was their best! We all have had a time in our lives when we could sing this for ourselves! Many more than once!
Beautiful beautiful ballad.
Greatest song ever written.
Thank you so much for sharing! This is awesome!
My pleasure! I love these guys!
Thanks so much for this, it's priceless!
Casi 30 años después. Como hemos cambiado todos!!!! Gracias Pat i Suzanne por hacernos emocionar!!!!
great music translates to all languages
Sure, Tim...
Fantastic song. R.I.P. Pat

Best song ever
Gone too young....RIP P.D.
RIP PAT

Pat really did have the goods. Amazing singer and songwriter.
I was there! It was awesome. Do you remember providing the "do do do do"s when Suzanne played "Tom's Diner"?

Very underated band....rip Pat
Love Pat, love the song but... to quote Nigel Tufnel in Spinal Tap, " The same key though, I think." :)
Pat was awesome but what’s up with Vega? Got to be a monitor problem. Come on sound man, making her look really bad.
Why were they playing at action Hyundai of Flemington New Jersey.
They weren't. That was just a banner hung on the stage. It was actually at the Italian-American Club in Scotch Plains.
Wow, is S.V. unable to hear herself? Scarmony.
I can see Elvis Costello doing a great job singing Smithereens songs. sound is identical.
Pat and Elvis voices are indeed similar!
Elvis would be a much better fit than these experiments with Crenshaw or the guy from Gin Blossoms.
Rip pat
Pat, as always, sounds great.
Suzanne...not so much.
I concur
Ouch
It must have been a bad day for her she was really off key I had a chance in Chicago seeing them I was so wasted as the first and only time I ever danced on a bar
Wow these guys deserved so much better than this.
How so?
That was a great song, until I heard it live. Youch! Suzanne was way off tune.
RIP Pat, you left too soon.
LOL Maybe Belinda should have sung it.
hmm not great harmony intonation.
wow, Vega sounds like a joke. jeez...
Less talking please
Love this song, but NOT this version!!!!! 😱
S.V. Is awful, she is so off key it isnt even funny. Yikes

So sad he gained so much weight
Holy cow - so off key
