      She was gorgeous, no doubt. But I don't find her character interesting, nor her acting any good. She barely sounds like she knows what she's talking about, her character barely has any independence, and is unbelievably stupid to not even notice AN AIRSHIP approaching her from behind, even when Bond yells at her to look out! She just comes off like another Tiffany Case from Diamonds Are Forever. I'm sure Tanya Roberts was a lovable person in real life, and it's a shame she died as she did. But that doesn't change my opinion.

    • @thylacinen4874
      @thylacinen4874 7 років тому +6

      Carolina Zampar Yes !
      I know most people hate her, but I like her for the following reasons :
      Everytime a new actress takes on the role of a Bond Girl, she always states that her character is "a different kind of girl", "very equal to Bond" or that "she can use a gun".
      Fine...but these are not "special" or "different" at all. In fact, almost every Bond girl has been a "strong", "fighting" leading lady.
      Stacey Sutton was actually a REAL different kind of girl : she wasn't a secret agent, an exotic beauty living on an island, the mistress of some villain or a dangerous femme fatale.
      For a change, she was just a normal person, an "everyday people" and this is nice, for reality and credibility sake.
      She was a San Francisco citizen, workin in geology field and living in her family estate. She became involved in an adventure she didn't ask for.
      So of course she wasn't as brave or competent as a CIA or MI-6 agent, but she did the best she could to help Bond, and faced events with braveness.
      Plus, she's beautiful and was, at the time, one of the sexier actress around.

    • @carolrosachoque
      @carolrosachoque 7 років тому +6

      I couldn´t have said any better, you described exactly how I feel/think about Stacey. She is not the typical Bond girl, she is just a normal girl who faced a Bond adventure, really down to earth, someone we can identify with. The scene inside the mine where she explains Zorin's scheme to Bond is one of the best scenes of the movie. Tanya Roberts was/is a gorgeous and talented woman and no matter who will be the next Bond girl she will always be my favorite one.

    Roger Moore was a good James Bond, however, he got way too old for the role, which explains why this film was criticized heavily. I do think A View to a Kill could've been a little better if Pierce Brosnan stepped into the role. Unfortunately, he was too busy filming Remington Steele.

    Moore wanted to look young for the movie and had just had a face lift done, would have been better to age naturally.

    • @mr.tramber
      @mr.tramber 2 роки тому

      yes, and this facelift only made things worse. If before this facelift he still looked younger in previous 2 films ( in FYEO he was 53 y.o but looked like 45-47 y.o, in OP he was 55 but looked 51-52), and his natural apperance still remained some youngness in his face. While here at 57 he looked like his age, and in certain scenes even looked 60+.

    Roger Moore did one film too many. The eye-job is just creepy (he is 57 here, but up to and including Octopussy, he was not *too* old). But this was just one film too many. And I say this as someone who actually likes a Bond who is in his *early* 50s (Moore in Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only, and Connery in Never Say Never Again).

      It a'nt how old an actor is its how old he looks and he don't look 57, remember its called acting. He would pass for 40.

      @@lukasnummer1 Indeed. I generously said that he was fine for the role even for the previous film Octopussy. But this is just one film too many (and Moore said so himself).

      yes, a view to a kil should be Dalton's first movie

    • @joshuagrover795
      @joshuagrover795 4 роки тому +3

      Totally agree, still charming and nice, but clearly too old for A view to Kill in 1985 not to mention in real life that the Bond girl's mother was younger than Moore! Timothy Dalton despite saying he was too young at this stage for Bond, he was 37 years old would have been brilliant in A View to a Kill and wouldn't have made the Bond girl Stacy stand out.
