That is a steal. If I had it, I'd be up there in a heartbeat. For that price around here. The rust would still be needing repaired. You'd be lucky if it even had an engine or ran.

If I was ever able to buy something like that , the only thing I would do is maintain the hell out of it and rust proof it at least once a year. It would literally last FOREVER. I'd use it every day !

It will be a nice truck for somebody who wants a square body. They can even run and drive it while making it better putting a wood bed in it etc. You did a nice job getting that truck back together and pretty solid now so it won't break in half. Thanks for the videos.

Ok. The price is AWESOME. I defy anyone to get a truck in this condition for this price. This would go for well over $10k U.S. where I am. Well done and I too would drive it as is!

I grew up with those trucks were an every day sight. Every farmer had one running and one in the back for parts. Damn, you did that truck justice, I would drive it as a daily pretty much as you have done it!

  • @pappabob29

Watching you expand those hood springs reminded me of a clever trick I learned while putting my newly powder coated springs back on my 57 Chevy hood. If I may offer a "tip" for those who might benefit.
Take your spring and "bend" it until the coils begin to open on one side. Slip a thick (maybe a 12" flat) washer between the open coils. Do this two, , three, or four times. Rotate the spring and do the same process 180 degrees opposite the ones you just inserted. You will find that adding the washers between the coils extends the spring ends. Mine took about four places if memory serves before the end hooks would engage the hinge. Once you have it hooked on the hinge., you can operate the hood to stretch the spring and "presto", all the washers fall out. No Muss, no Fuss,, No wrench "teeth" marks on your finish. ;o)

    • @CarterAutoRestyling
      @CarterAutoRestyling  Рік тому

Yeah, I've used that idea for removing the springs as well, then leave the washers in and it makes reassembly easy (providing the springs aren't getting refinished)
I'm low on washers though, and with the insane price of everything in Canada I just did this one the hard way!

Things may look better on screen than in person but I still think you're being modest about the condition...we all saw the amount and quality of work you put into the truck, and all the hard work is done. I hope there's a bidding war, I think it's worth a lot more than what you're asking. In any case good luck with the sale and I look forward to the next project.

Even though I wouldn't normally do such a thing, I hit the like button especially for that seat. It just adds a touch of comfort and class to the build that you can only get from modern components. But it could use some holes in the rear pillars for some speakers.

Hey Kyle, my 64 F100 catches everybody's eye and it's mostly natural patina. Areas where I had to repair rust are primers with rust converter and then flat camouflage tan, which oddly matches the original color. No one has been able to tell I've spent a couple hundred hours to get it to where it doesn't look like it. It's like peeing yourself in a blue suit. You get a warm feeling but nobody notices!😊

Ya I got 07 buckets and console for my 66 f100 but they're square like the bench and firm . So they don't look tarded like I pulled them out of a firebird or something lol

How well did the aftermarket fenders fit? I have heard they fit poorly but yours seem to fit nice. My brother just bought a reasonably solid 64 that needs a fender or the rear and lower replaced. Truck came out nice and looks like something a guy with limited skills could bring to the next level

They don't fit as good as originals, but they don't fit nearly as bad as people say they do.

You should try selling something on market place, you give the location three times in the ad and still get 30 messages "where you at" and then the will you trade for a lawnmower and deliver it two states away. You really begin to question humanity after dealing with that, hope it works out and you find a serious buyer. Oh yeah is it still available? Oh man I wish you were closer. Would you trade three chickens and a goat for it?(not a GTO, an actual goat). Good luck, nice truck.

Oh I know that drill all too well. It's the same with the local classified website here! I just ignore them, when the right person comes along they don't waste time or ask stupid questions haha

If there wasn't an ocean between us I'd stomp up 7K CAD for it - a bargain considering all the work you've put into the bodywork.

That would make a great first project truck for someone. I have 7 vehicles and don't go anywhere so I don't need it. Plus there is no way my GPS is accepting your location. I'm thinking your founding fathers typewriter only had a few keys working. Thank you for your time and good luck.

I think the problem is the people who named this place didn't have access to typewriters. If they did, the name would be a lot shorter and more to the point!

It's what I like to call the typewriter conspiracy. They told me in school that the keyboard is laid out so the most used keys are easy access. I say it was laid out so salesmen could demonstrate it. Otherwise why is the word typewriter all on the top row? It's the little things.@@CarterAutoRestyling
