    Thank you very much for this video. I was aware of that a year ago. I also saw multiple Cricket barrels and none of them was perfect. Noone believed me.
    To be honest the best approach is to replace the barrel with LW one and machine it perfectly. The is the definitive solution. The other methods which you showed are just like hacking.

    Are you sure that poor quality rifling marks are related to poor crowning? I noticed some rough area in the choke of the barrel. Like tooling marks or different disstortions. Because of them the barrel was fouling very fast and the accuracy was lost. The question is if CZ did that. Maybe they just provide raw barrels and they need to be machined by a different company. I do not know.

      great sport B The difference is not big, but if you are shooting benchrest or targets - you are fighting for consistency and accuracy. I need to search for some old pictures from the beginning. The problem is that I have made the tuning long time ago - little after I bought the rifle, and now I am doing the videos from the pictures and videos from that time.

    Hi there I have just got a cricket when I shoot it at 18 -27 ft lbs the pellets miss place out of the magazine is that normal with the cricket and on eny power air coms back out the back where the magazine is and on top ov this problem when the cricket is at 100 bar shoots at about 25 ft lbs then when it's at 200 bar it shoots at about 10ft lbs what is it that needs adjusting the valve or the regulator thanks

  • @ToreDL87
    @ToreDL87 9 років тому

    It seems you need a different barrel, the chamber is one thing (The pellet is just pushed past it by the nozzle) but that choke.. wow.. Cant say I envy you!
    Try FX, EDGun or Daystate barrel?
    Thank you very much for knowledgeful contributions :)

    • @FreeManShooting
      @FreeManShooting  9 років тому +2

      ToreDL87 The barrel is great! The finish is poor. I guess they buy blanks from CZ and finish them in KalibrGun factory - doing barrel crowning, and choke.

    • @ToreDL87
      @ToreDL87 9 років тому

      FreeManShooting
      I can attest to CZ barrel quality, have gotten consistent hits with CZ 452 .22LR at ranges that people claim .22LR is not capable of.
      Hope you can get your barrel fixed then, it should do you well :)
      Thank you so much for free contribution to curious people such as me.
      Yours and other peoples videos have convinced me that PCP is the only way to go to stay consistent at long range, currently saving up for a FX Bobcat .25 (I live in a mountain area with lots of wind).

    • @FreeManShooting
      @FreeManShooting  9 років тому

      +ToreDL87 FX Bobcat .25 sounds great for your conditions and not only. Regards

    • @ToreDL87
      @ToreDL87 9 років тому

      FreeManShooting
      Seems the Bobcat is no longer produced, my retailer can no longer acquire it!
      So I have to buy the new .25 Wildcat instead, they let me fiddle with it, charged it up and let me dry-fire inside the shop.
      It feels better than the Bobcat before, shorter than Bobcat but longer than Vulcan, in between some where.
      Regulator comes standard, 300cc reservoir.
      Action is super smooth, very low noise level, good balance, but I hear the index lever for magazine is die-cast and bends easily after 1000 pellets, and swivel pins in bolt lever mechanism falls out (pressed into place..) so it will need some work..
      What to expect, it`s cheaper than Kalibrgun Cricket and AGT Vulcan, so we will see, accuracy is good and around 60 regulated shots, so not too bad if not too many issues.
      How far have you gotten on barrel repair? :)

    • @FreeManShooting
      @FreeManShooting  9 років тому +2

      +ToreDL87 Since I finish the tuning I am just shooting. I will say the accuracy is great, even on over 100 meters. The choke is one idea more than needed, but when I am shooting pellets with ticker skirts there is not waveling.
      I am very interested from the wildcat - hope will be even better.

    Hi Freeman,First off ... I love the name !I have been looking for awhile to get an air rifle. .. The last time I had one was 20yrs agoLike yourself ... I always try and get the best I can within my budget ... so I have 2 questions for you.(1) Which would you recommend the Cricket or the colibri/Hummingbird(2) Could I buy one from you that you have modified, corrected and tested.Thanks

    • @FreeManShooting
      @FreeManShooting  9 років тому +1

      +Alexis Vlotomas The Colibri have some weak points + it takes too long to the semi-auto. I am not sure where they are in the process. Cricket is bulky, heavy and noisy... but is strong and reliable.
      Did you saw FX WildCat? There was no WildCat when I bought Cricket :-)

      I never convert .25 to .22, but there is difference of the barrel length, shroud, magazines and the barrel as caliber of course.

    hi,
    I'm so happy to hear that it not only me that thinks H&N Baracuda's are simply the best. I don't have a cricket but was thinking of getting one. currently have a few PCPs the best by a long shot my Weihrauch .22 hw100. As a pro in my eyes what do you think about Hw100 vs.Cricket?
    Regards

    • @FreeManShooting
      @FreeManShooting  9 років тому +1

      +Rudi Moolman HW is great air rifle. Accurate and good quality, but is long. Cricket is Bullpup and this make the gun in different category of interest. FX have new cheaper solutions for Bullpup - might be you will want to make research.

    This gun cost over 1000 € and really? should cost half the money..I owned 2 one i 177 and then .22 sold both cose whats the point to keep the rifle with poor accuracy and in case when you have to fix someting ?!.
    Btw Cricket company are not monofacturing Colibis any longer

      @dominik.i4288 8 років тому +1

      +FreeManShooting I agree with you..but how much time and effort does it cost you? IMO an idea to buy a gun so expensive like this one is just to take out of the box and have a lot of fun with shooting ..Its almost half a problem if you know how to fix the issue and you are able to do it by yourself..but if not ..its generate some extra cost and on the end cost you much more.

      You are right!
      Even when I know what and how to do - still cost a lot of time, energy and extra money.
