Playing on an Oscar-nominated song and being part of one of the most iconic performances in Oscar history isn't "wasting" Slash's talent, by a long shot.
@@dieterdohlen6386 Not if the response from the audience, the critics, the fans, Ryan's costars and his wife Eva Mendes are any indication. If anyone compares "I'm Just Ken" to "Blame Canada," I wouldn't blame them, but it's great in its own right.
wolf gang did the guitar work in the movie as well and was largely unnoticed during the performance don't get me wrong slash is awesome and has the talent but kind of made me say hey what about Wolfgang Van Halen
Ryan Gosling directed the entire thing. The face is from the original Barbie ads from the 1950s and the production is like the Marilyn Monroe one. The four special Kens are the other primary Kens from the movie, Simu, Scot Evans, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Ncuti Gatwa.
Wolfgang Van Halen is on stage shredding too. And Mark Ronson obviously was at the beginning. There's a video on UA-cam where Mark Ronson goes through the entire process of writing the song and getting all the musicians on board. You should check it out. And watch the movie. LOL
The one in the movie is great, but Ryan Gosling decided to honor Marilyn Manore doing "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" from "Gentleman prefer Blonds". The pink stares and stuff is like the Marilyn Monroe thing. WATCH THE MOVIE AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THE DRAMA.
You really have to see Heart's cover of Stairway to Heaven Live at the Kennedy Center Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction of Led Zepplin! One of the BEST recordings EVER!!!
We need Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Gal Gadot, Timothee Chalamet, Emma Stone, and of course Cillian Murphy in a Barbie sequel, with Stone as Midge who fall in love with Ryan’s Ken, and Murphy as Human Ken in a real-world who’s Sasha’s teacher and Margot’s human Barbie (Barbara)‘s love interest
Agreed, but one of the Kens may not return. Ncuti Gatwa has expressed interest in filming a third series of Doctor Who, which would take up most of 2025 up to filming a regeneration sequence if Ncuti did not want to film a fourth series.
This is a really well done review. It matches the fun spirit of the performance. Also, some of the comments underestimate Mark Ronson and his contribution to the music industry over the years.
Of course, the movie Barbie is a movie rated 7.5 or 8.0, but I have to recognize that this song is excellent and with Slash's guitar it looks magnificent, the performance was worthy of note Inna and Ryan Gosling has good skills for a singer and that's it, the music is magnificent! Now talking about your reaction Inna, it's magnificent as always and very fun too Inna, it's really fun to see how excited you are about the songs even if sometimes some of them don't seem so good and if I could recommend a song I would recommend Splendid Cradle from the band Ecliptyka, it's a band from my country and I think you'll like the music and that's it, keep up the work and Brazilian greetings to you! 💚💛💚💛
Anyone who hasn’t actually seen the Barbie movie shouldn’t even review this performance because none of it will make any sense to you. Everything from the background dancers, kissing cameraman’s hands , and the people he let sing 🎤 in the mic are all callbacks to the Barbie Movie and his other movies.
You should see the movie, and the only thing that would’ve made this performance even more over the top and better would’ve been if one of the cans or somebody had put the first coat on him from the movie
I love this. Ryan and all the dancers did a great job. The song and arrangement were really good. I just thought Slash was wasted here. One of the greatest guitarists in history and they gave him three seconds. For a song about liking guy things, hearing Slash play is pretty far up there.
John Cena is in the movie and Sylvester Stallone wanted to be in it but he was filming something at the time. Looks like you missed out on a great movie.
He wasn't forced to play on the original record OR to participate in this performance. "After Gosling recorded his vocals, Ronson sent the track to Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, who found it "cool" and agreed to play guitar on the song." He obviously didn't think it was a "waste of his talents". Maybe let your idol have some fun?

For real, some people are so weird about this. Let him have fun.
Calling this "one of the most iconic performances in Oscar history" is missing by a long shot, too lol.

He played on the studio track.
@@kellywalker9827 So did Wolfgang Van Halen. 🎸
Don’t forget Eddie Van Halen’s son “Wolfgang”. He was also there.
Right? An event so star-studded that a Van Halen can go unnoticed. XD

This was the top moment at the Oscars--stole the show!

Ncuti Gatwa took a break from filming his second series of Doctor Who!
Choreographer was Mandy Moore.
This will win a EMMY! It’s a theatrical movie 💖💖💖
I loved this performance
This is exciting! I havent even seen this yet so I am now reacting along with you lol
That was a fun performance!

Watch the movie, it's very good, this performance had a several call-backs to the movie, the slapping, the kissing, etc.
lol, that was fun
Slash was always involved 😅
Slash plays on the original I'm Just Ken song in the Barbie movie!
The Barbie movie was actually pretty good! I would definitely recommend watching it.
Madonna also did this in her Material Girl video.

The person he put the hat on is his little sister he took to the Oscers.
Slash was on the original song
Also on guitar, Wolfgang Van Halen in the background there.
Does Wolfgang Van Halen look exactly the same as Jack Black?
You would appreciate this a lot more had you seen the movie. Just saying.
Yeah maybe watch the movie first and pay attention with your ears before whining @InnaSoloMusic
@@PeterWedell-sq3jr Did she re-edit this video or something? I didn't see any whining in this reaction.

Hello there hey there
Hello Inna did u notice Billie sitting behind ryan covering her face waiting for him to sing.
You should see the movie, and the only thing that would’ve made this performance even more over the top and better would’ve been if one of the cans or somebody had put the first coat on him from the movie
As soon as you said you had not seen Barbie, I switched off.
Slash played on the record.

You kinda look like lexi luna 😊.
Nice reaction 🙏
Recommendation for you #mahaguru bay mayanda
Ok .. Let me get this right.... You've not seem BARBIE aand you've never heard of MARILYN MONROE lol lol lol ..... Er ..... OKAY ! xx
That's no generational thing, that's just pure ignorance
How nice of Slash to let some small-time actor promote his(?) movie by performing with him.
You ain't alone, I haven't see the film Barbie either - and I never will.
It's such a great movie!
Your loss
Wow, that's a great life goal, i guess.
Thanks for letting us know
you wont get it unless you have seen the movie
Such a waste of Slash's talent. Oh well
John Cena is in the movie and Sylvester Stallone wanted to be in it but he was filming something at the time. Looks like you missed out on a great movie.
@@Lilith_F the naked guy at the oscars? yeah no thanx.. I'll give it a miss
I'm sure he didn't call them up and ask to do a naked sketch. 🙄
Yeah a waste when a song is Oscar nominated. He was on the original recording as well. Angry man syndrome?
