I think another good reason to city the 10-8-4 first is to make it a little easier to get that next settlement. You'll have plenty of city material once the 11-12-6 is placed

Looking at your games I think you miss on a lot of great trades by being to greedy. "I should have taken that trade" is basically a catch phrase at this point;)
Better the 1 for 2 you get than the 1 for 3 you don't.
The funny thing is, he's always greedy himself and expects others to pay him. But when others ask for a 2-1 he gets offended.

I think you could start on the 5-9-12 there and point to the 6-11-12. you would have a lot of brick to trade for wood with everyone else, and could even potentially connect to sneak road.

I know I'm not alone when I say "thank the Catan gods that Dylighted Loses another game." He needs to learn to trade. He gets greedy with other players and then doesn't take the opportunities when presented with them. He needs to take an Econ class or two.

didn't know you could build roads for longest road in a circle? thought that'd cancel it out.
It’s just the longest stretch of continuous roads. One circle = 6 roads
It hurts me to continually watch you miss trades for resources you need while others take them (either to help themselves, or to interfere with you trading)

That is why catan is not balanced
Why choose 38? The Catan gods smiled at you and gave you a 5910 as your second city! 22pp! Good clean access to a 912 3:1 and 8 sheep port. Sure it's mismatched, but with the sheep port and strong wheat there's a good chance to city up quickly.
Sure 36 going to 61112 looks good on paper but with weak production and low mobility (weak brick, no wood, no port) it took you ages to get there. And also priritizing dev cards over citying up the two settlements was also not the best idea.
