There's a meme with a stressed looking George Constanza surrounded by words related to gut health, and that's what I think of any time the subject is broached
This is functional medicine. You look at the causes. Heal the gut and change what you eat. ❤
Well, the saying "Trust your gut" has a biological basis.
Prouuut !!! Pouet pouet !!! 🫠
If you somehow can get one ounce of blood to circulate in your body without it first passing through your heart, well…..you are having a bypass surgery.
It’s not anatomically possible.
As a young Catholic doctor, this constant vague gut health/psychiatry admixture is doing us no service in helping people or presenting us as lovers of faith and reason.
Thank you for this. The idea of blood “being pumped to the heart” instead of anywhere else was quite the revelation 😂. This whole interview was like every Bali “wellness” coach I’ve ever heard, but with a Christian sticker stamped on it.
I'm a medical student (not a doctor, perhaps someday). What's your opinion on the gastrointestinal tract being a "second brain" in relation to PNS and the CNS function?
Also, I love your comment 😊
@@mik569 I think it’s a ridiculous distortion to conflate having millions of neurons in the gut that is within an order of magnitude of the brain with having the frontal cortex’s power of will. If the gut had many more neurons than the brain, it wouldn’t matter. The brain is of a much nobler nature. It’s capabilities are metaphysically of a much higher order, since it is also the seat of the spiritual powers as they bind to our bodies in that mystery of being a human person.
@@mik569 People who think with their gut tend to prove it by talking through their azz.
@@schuylerkarl1382 Noble indeed. The pineal gland is impressive.
Thank you.
Why is this person being interviewed on this channel?
Why not?
because there are numerous instances that people blame God for their anxiety, depression, detachment, fear, etc. when most of it can be treated with fixing one's diet and gut. I speak for myself and a group of my Bible study group that started a ketogenic diet. Two weeks in and I have more energy, my gut is improving which has had a positive effect on our prayer lives, church attendance has increased and we are volunteering more because we feel better and happier which is helping our spiritual lives.
Yah, no, way off
?
I second that. ??
Third...???
????
Yall are cracking me up, my comment means just what I said, way off ..in MY opinion, anxiety & depression has zero to do with gut health or vice versa.
Her 'upspeech', going up with her voice inflection at the end of sentences tat are not questions, is annoying makes me disbeliwve everything she says.
