That suit with the red & blue are just iconic at this point 🔥💯🔥
actually that’s my soccer team colors, I use to have a vest Blau/Grana (Catalan)
Love it
Nice to hear the story of the suits!
Absolutely!
They are well cut, and he is an elegant man on whom a suit is becoming.
Latent something or other
😂🤣😏 tragic
I love his suits. They’re awesome!
Don Cherry the Second...
I second that!!!
His more professional suits look way better
They’re terrible
I think they're disgusting. Who gaf tho, so long as he loves them.
A suit for every rule. Wow! That's a really creative idea.
I would like to get a look at all 12 of these! They are so awesome.
Don't tell pope😅
I love the tone of disgust as he says, "....and Crocs" 😂
Bro, crocks are the ABSOLUTE BEST garden foot wear ever.
Idiocracy shoes
@chickenlover657 I'd imagine they are comfy, and handy, but I refuse to even entertain the idea because I have morals.
@@chickenlover657
Unless you're chopping wood with an axe and have a poor aim.
Maybe it's because of my upbringing, I've never thought to analyze the reason, but I do not enjoy being barefooted.
I own crocs that I wear in the house. They're extremely comfortable. I won't wear them in public though.
They're a bright canary yellow. My daughters, as a gag, have bought me the little charms that fasten to the holes.
The Rolling Stones tongue and lips logo, pot leaves, bottles of Corona, bottles of Hennessy. Yeah, I'm a rebel.
I like his suits, and the concept behind them is really a creative way to communicate his teachings.
We are very blessed to have Jordan Peterson in this wild jungle of today’s society.
My husband and I saw him last Sunday at the Dolby Live theater in Las Vegas. He was wearing the same suit jacket and it was awesome. 😆
I am a young pastor. I wear a suit and tie every Sunday and at least a tie many other days a week. I consider this to be very important. Thanks, Dr. Peterson.
The suits are amazing!
Wonderful creativity !
Well done to Dmitri and co!
Even being a stay at home mom its good to get dressed everyday. Our job is is important and when I dress well it shows I believe it and I do see I get more respect.
Ditto. I feel gross when I stay in pajamas.
I can't stay in pyjamas all day unless I'm sick. I dress comfortably every day but I know when to dress up.
Absolutely. I've been several kinds of profession in my long life, as well as a stay at home mom for a while. At one time I decided to test my hypothesis that we carry ourselves differently and people treat us differently depending on what we wear. 100% - same person, same store or business, very different response. Sometimes it's subtle, but it's there. Moms: you ARE professionals. There are times for sweatpants (caring for a sick kid) and times to dress like the dignified adult you are (going to the bank or your insurance company). You will be teaching your children who you are.
I used to make my own clothes, and was quite a good seamstress--a skill that ran through both my grandmother's fingers. It was a necessity that I make my own clothes because my family didn't have a lot of money and the clothes I made "passed down" to three younger siblings. It was fine when I was young, but when I started working I got nothing but resentment from other workers. I had one co-worker who would tell me how much she "hated" me every time I wore something new I had completed. It got so bad that I had to quit sewing. I lost my sewing machines and serger in an eviction and I wear essentially the same thing (style of clothing) almost every day now. I am still ridiculed. I have dressed elegantly, and I have dressed in off the rack, what I can afford which isn't much. It doesn't matter what you wear, people are going to look down on you with contempt and hatred because that is the society we live in. Can't win.
@@artieanderson604Sounds like she was being a jealous witch, another would have asked how you learned and if you could show her some tips, why women attacked another over nothing is pathetic bullying behavior
About the re-grading essays, my father is a professor and he is constantly complaining about students who don’t care about his class who get the university counselors to contact him and try and get the students who never even show up to class to pass. It’s really tragic
Seems many "guidance counselors" are a big part of the problem now. They tend to side with parents and student
laziness and entitlement. It's "the tail wagging the dog," and extremely detrimental to civilization as a whole.
I am shocked that happens in college.
The loss of formalities in our culture has even affected language and the practice of written English. You can't say anything too formal or direct and yet what you say has to get the point across.
The system is crushing itself under its own weight, it can't even express itself anymore!
Well said. I love how Dr. JP expresses himself truthfully in word and attire.
@@mommyseastar5776 but by wearing those suits he's going against his own standards.
@@olgac.h.1278 what standards of his is he going against?
@@olgac.h.1278 How so?
People think they play a videogame, constantly arguing to people or about people.
instead of using open minded approach.
There are some old sayings “The clothes make the man”, “First impressions are lasting” and “You never get a second chance to make a good impression”. All very true. Good things to think about. 😊
his suit looks so cool. I could look at it for hours.
Good god!
Maybe they saw his video where he said he likes paintings and artists.
Thanks for this. I’ve been wondering about the suits. Great story.
He's not lying. I grew up blue-collar and have been treated blue-collar my entire life. We looked down on the suited class as being soft-handed and only wore suits for funerals and weddings -- and more of the former than the latter. All these many years later, I see the error of that way. The clothes make the man, whether we like it or not. If you dress like a bum, you'll be thought of as a bum. Worse, though, is that the very concept will seep into your bones, and then ripple out into the world around you. As a craftsman, I struggle to make the best quality and call folks out for being supposedly "conservative" yet not actively conserving things. Where are our craftsmen building great things? Our craftsmanship is an intrinsic part of who we are as a people. It's what sets us apart from "the other" and there are entire libraries filled with books from archeologists and collectors who have detailed the craftsmanship of cultures long since passed into the mists of time. Well, I do believe it starts with the person and their home. If all you buy is mass-produced chintz because it is cheap and easy..... what's that say about you? How does that ripple out? What's the difference between the average christian and the average atheist when they all wear the same clothes, shop at the same stores, eat the same foods, read the same books, and watch the same programs on the tv? As the clothes make the man, so too does what we surround ourselves with become a reflection of who we are. While Dr. Peterson counsels people to "clean their room", I would take it a step further and tell folks to really clean that room, embracing their culture and heritage unashamedly. Demand the best you can afford, even if that's not much. Better to have quality rather than quantity.
Dr Peterson, I love your suits! God bless you!
Thanks for asking the question I’ve always wanted to know
Finally, somebody asked Jordan about his crazy suits! I always wondered what was going on with that, especially the one he was wearing today, that would make Liberace blush!
"Instead of looking like 10-year olds who's been inflated by a bicycle pop!" that gave them a kick right out. 😂😂
Thank you for making the question we were all asking ourselves
He is awesome, I love his suits.
The exception would, of course, be where function becomes more important. But even on construction sites you can tell who are the lazy ones versus the ones with a work ethic at the beginning of the day by whether they are wearing ripped and food stained clothing versus durable clothing that has at least been patched and resewn when it does tear.
His suits are great, it separates him from the ordinary, suits are my culture and I love the adaptation
Wonderful, refreshing interview. Wish he’d give the story of the suit he’s wearing. I feel better when we’ll dressed, doesn’t need to be expensive. 👏🇦🇺
Formality works. I always dress up for my CCD kids. The one day I brought a sweatshirt because of some circumstance I had behaviors from my class.
I love your suits, they are so unique, just like you!
Blessings!
It is fascinating to see how conversation is going deeper and deeper from a normal question about his suit, although his suits are not normal, but always awesome. His being serious about literally everything around him makes me look at the world again with somewhat different perspective. Many thanks Jordan
In college, I had a professor who were worn down jeans and a food-stained t-shirt with messy unkept hair on good days. On bad days, he wore undershirts. The way he garnished respect was by calling people stupid for disagreeing with him on political matters.
I am so sorry you had to put up with such an immature individual.
That's revolting.
I would love a explanation of each suit and the rule it represents.
The suits are definitely cool. They are just amazing.
Great work gents. Really enjoyed the JP session!
Great interview as always. I admire both gentlemen!
I love his new suits!!😊
The laugh from the backstage😂
Interesting suits... See ya in Friday in Croatia, Matt!
Hvala na komentaru, da nisam vidjela ne bih ni znala da dolazi tu!!
I made a comment just the other day about his suits... then this popped up 😂 glad to know the back story of them
Reminds of a 1960s Country Suit. George Jones comes to mind
Nudie Suits that Porter Wagoner and the Flying Burrito Brothers wore
Haha i literally wondered more curiously about this for the first time this morning after seeing Dr. Peterson in a suit with icons of the Virgin Mary and Christ. Things seem to be getting serious i thought and joy entered in me anticipating how this will have subtle but such a huge possitive influence.
And an answer came like this :D God is so awesome! You simply ask with genuine interest and answers just come. Though sometimes it takes years because you would not be able to understand and your whole view of the world need to shift as an answer to a question.
Thank you for this interesting clip!
May we all be in-spired to always dress worthily for others and for ourselves trying to reflect our divine value to each other!
I wondered about the suits, they are so much fun.
I get the point re dressing; when I was a new mum, essentially I stayed in a lot but I’d make sure that my face was washed and daughter and I wore our day clothes.
Funnily enough it’s sometimes men who judge more than women, particularly mums who would empathise with another wearing pyjamas. I feel if my wardrobe is in order, then that’s a good thing and where I live no one is fancy either, all sweat tops and jeans. It makes a difference though to differentiate between day time and night time.
@@happydogg312I agree with you and like you say, you don’t wear shorts and t shirt to events. It’s good to dress for the right occasion; it is a social practice after all.
That suit is absolutely well tailored
Sending Don Cherry vibes! Happy to see people dressed respectably. Bring back decorum.
The suits are elegant and have character, just like Jordan ❤🕊️
As far as going to the airport is concerned. Having had one bad landing where I simultaneously almost burned and froze to death; broke multiple bones;, and almost bled to death;, for starters. (Air Canada fight). I do think that practical clothing, possibly at least not likely to melt over you, might be something to think about. I actually forget what I was wearing, but I stopped wearing suits, at least for nighttime flights, after seeing the CEO of Merril Lynch in the lobby where I was staying in Frankfurt, dressed in wilderness casual for a flight back to Canada. Might have saved my life when my time came.
I have real admiration for you Mr. Peterson. You are a man who uses his God given gifts and diligently seeks what is true and good and beautiful. That is rare in our society. Sometimes, I cringe when you abuse the Holy Name. That is a violation of the second Commandment. Cardinal Collins told a journalist once in corrective humour; “They aren’t the ten suggestions”.
God’s name is thrice holy and is given as gift to us to use in addressing him in prayer. I hope you will reflect on this.
I offer this in gratitude for all the good I have received from the things you have spoken and in deep respect for what you stand for. 🕊️♥️
A man that can afford to dress in style and doesn’t is a criminal. Love the suits.
Dude, they need to be sold in his merch shop!
Jordan Peterson should make a suit brand
I am a Latter day Saint. Our bishopric wears suits, white shirts, as well as a many of the male congregation. Other men and boys holding the priesthood wear nice slacks, white shirts and ties.
I have Mormon friends. Yes, and there is a reason for that. It's a matter of dignity and taking church seriously. I grew up Catholic and everyone dressed for church. I wish it were still that way.
@@karenk2409 yes most LDS men wore suits or sport jackets until last 10 years but we see many now only wearing white shirt and tie as I said and some poorly groomed so we are seeing some changes but most are trying to look respectful. I don't have anxiety or depression but I understand that many who do lose some of that dignity. I believe Christ loves us all and only he understands our inner challenges but do miss the days of dressing up for church.
I have a good Catholic friend I used to work with. He is the best grandparent to nine--so devoted and loving. So much respect for him.
I have three kids who are through or in Universtiy, and while I never grubbed for a mark in my life, I have to say marking at uni, oddly, particularly in the sciences, is often very sloppy. Their excuse for getting the math wrong is how tough the sciences are, and you better learn to take it. Some kids depend on the scholarship money, and they deserve better than to have math challenged bozos making excuses for their personal limitations. Tough marking to make the narcissistic profs feel important is another specialty. My kids thrived when there were high standards, but the games were not a respect builder.
Alt title: why JP look so fly??
He wore this one when I saw him in Reading, PA. You should see the lining! Gorgeous!
What I like about the suits is not the suits per se, but their strategic significance. The left loves to distort Peterson, painting him as some kind of conservative individual who may pander to people to fit some mold. Yet the suits show that he is not afraid of creativity, which is usually a marker of non-conservative people who like variety and expressive meaning. This, surely enough, will throw them off in that respect.
Precisely! I scrolled down to find and like such comment, as I was lazy to put my same thoughts into words. So thanks. 🙈
Want to see the full set including lining!
His suits are great and unique. Love to see a man in a suit.
AMAZING STYLE, nothing he wears goes unnoticed !
CLASS ALL THE WAY❤
Whenever I watch one of Dr. Peterson's interviews or monologues I see Tyler Fischer
😂
I love how he dresses. I was wondering where he gets his suits. It's such a unique and exciting design! ❤
This is where I disagree with JP, and I love him greatly. However, a long time ago (probably around college), I was overly anxious about what others thought about me. Then I realized, I certainly don't believe I am "above anybody else," but rather I only care for the approval of people who genuinely love me. Clothes are a utility; I use them to meet the needs of the situation. That's it. His suits are awesome though and if he loves them, great!
Not a bad take. I've been this way for a long while too.
I was wondering about the story behind the suits. I love them!
I like the suits now that I know the back story! How creative!
The opening line was so jarring I laughed 😂😂😂❤
Your suits are dressy and fun to look at in these days of such serious matters we must deal with on a daily basis. God bless Mr Peterson.
Doesn’t push = RESPECT & knowing your customer
Brilliant man ❤
that jacket jp is wearing is straight up drippy
Asking the real questions, now😅
When i started to work in offices everyone was wearing a suit. Now nobody wears a suit and even the CEO walks in in jeans and t-shirt. The office cultur completly changed with that. The women also started dressing sloppy and left themselfs go. Never seen so many young and fat office ladies and all formality and culture is gone now. With the vanishing of the suits all class is gone.
To all the lovely moms who wait outside in their pajamas in the morning for the school bus: keep it up. You look cute and not at all immature.
No you dont ❤ but you got your kid washed fed and dressed well👍and about to do the house and get dirty so 👍
Love them!!!!
AWESOME 😎
This is all people wanted to talk about on the live chat!! 😂😂😂
Because thye think trghey arein a videogame.... that are equally dumb.
I think he doesn't need to be in eccentric clothes. He is important as he is.
The first time I noticed, he was on JRE and had on a dual colored jacket. I thought my ipad color had gone wonky 😂 I take notice of them especially now. I really loved the one he wore when he sat with Brett Cooper and their conversation was very interesting❤
I love his suits! They are so unique. I wish I could get female versions. I’d wear them every damn day. 😆
Me too!
For me the lost traditions are Sunday morning church services and everyone including too many in the pulpit showing dressed as if ready to go on a hike or the beach. For me, I go wearing my Sunday best bc I feel sitting in the sanctuary of God with Him having sacrificed His son I can sacrifice 2 hrs a week giving Him my best in at least as respectful manner. Also, can begin to drink coffee during the service and think all these churches with “coffee bars” are extremely unnecessary! It’s 2 hours folks!
creative expression.
Those suits are so Don Cherry from Hockey Night in Canada. Another real man.
My suit is comfortable pants and a t-shirt. Love that. Cause it looks really good on me. I would never wear anything that wouldn't look good. The rules of looking taken care of varies with how well You are taken care of I'd say ;)
I would like to see more people often wear suits, but the problem is that people don't get the idea that suits don't have to be formal. Suits can be fun and casual with the right fabrics and structure.
Suits can have less structure in the jacket but still tailor nicely to the body, with more than two pockets or some suit jackets can have pleats in the back. You don't have to wear a suit with a tie or a dress shirt they can be worn with a nice knitted polo shirt or with a denim shirt. My point is that formality has rules to follow, but you are allowed to break them if you want, and Jordan Peterson is a good example when it comes to his crazy suits.
I love his new suits!
I've been mentioning JBP's crazy suits for a while now to literally everyone. Glad I finally got an answer.
Black suits make the speaker less visible. An unusual suit makes the speaker easier to see from the back row. I like his suits.
I had wondered what the deal was with the suits? I have gotten used to them somewhat.
After watching “The Time Machine,” (1960) I told my husband that I would love to see him in a suit-just once!
The men at our wedding wore jeans! 😂
No sooner did I see this than I found this a quote by Padmasambhava, the great yogic master from Pakistan who brought Tantric Buddhism to Tibet: "The guru may appear in many different guises and clothing to teach those ones he brings to the Path." There are no accidents!
I think Dr Peterson likes chatting with you bro. I've like never seen him talk so openly and relaxed.
I've never owned a nice suit. I've always worn work clothes, cop shirts and twill pants. But lately I have gone back to my roots. When I was a kid I spent most afternoons at my neighbor's house. He was a tinkerer, and inventor, and a street peddler. He paid me a nickel-a-piece to disassemble mechanical pencils, and then he would hand-carve beautiful wood casings for the pencils. He always wore sweats ha ha. So lately, when I'm at home and not working, I just wear nice comfortable sweat pants and shirts.
He’s brilliant and eccentric. I love his suits ❤
i remember you in dungarees and a white shirt in your U.of T videos.
I love his suites. It looks elegant, not clownish.
I love the suits. 😊❤
I wear suits when I need to, but I also wear shorts and t-shirts whenever I can. It's a comfort thing for me.
Absolutely love the story behind these iconic suits 🙏
The first time i saw him with a crazy suit was when the ruling came down to take away his license. I thought it was appropriate. Crazy world, crazy suit.
Fantastic comment, In regarding to wearing something you never would "hah! You dont know yourself"
thanks, i was wondering. it's a little distracting at first but highly individual and why not dress both nicely and with flair?
I know myself, I have two suits which are kind of crazy. But I love them
