I'm pretty sure he played higher then the trombonist because the music called for it. I don't think that means he's better, it just means his part had higher notes. Unless i'm mistaken. I don't know what they're playing, so for all I know a lot of it might be improv.
A basic BBb Euph and Tuba have the same fingerings...Til you start getting into C tubas and Eb and F...Which the tuba he's on is an F so the fingerings are going to be different than that of the euphoniums. 1 and 3 on the euphonium would be C whereas on the F tuba it would be G if i'm correct.

This one looks somewhat smaller (which makes sense now)! Both the Baritone and tuba I payed were 3 valve models! These guys are great!
Most beginners play Bb Tuba up until college, at which point they could switch to C tuba, which used primarily in large bands or orchestras, or F for small ensembles and solo work. Some schools still have Eb tubas, but its much more common to have Bb horns. This tuba is pitched a fifth above a Bb tuba, and a fourth below a baritone horn (essentially halfway) which explains why he is able to play so high. I started on Tuba and have added bass trombone, euphonium and trumpet to my repertoire. They're mostly school horns.
I did Trumpet,tuba and Baritone. Baritone may have been my favorite. It's been a LONG time. Ifound my mother's clarinet in the closet and picked up some reeds a few months ago and planned to try to learn from YT but haven't yet.

Tubas or rather "Basses" are Bb or Eb and read treble clef. "C" Tubas are usually just an E flat or B flat transposed for Orchestra or stage band or similar, in which case they do read bass clef. Eb tubas are more commonly found, probably due to size and cost.

Why is the performance duplicated after the 5 minute mark, but without sound? Also the video and audio don't match up, as seen when the trombonist takes a breath, but the audio continues to play.
Yeah, you're true, but you sai that he played the runs cleaer and for that it's easier with the tuba... But it's true too that is more difficult to play high with a tuba, and his tunnin is perfect. And we don't need to argue, just enjoy that amazing video. Do u play any instrument? I'm a french horn player :)
Some trombonists have valves. I always wanted to hve a valve trombone as well as my slide trombone. But I settled for a baritone (Euphonium) in college, and still only have my professional quality Conn 70H.

It's the same video just looped after the halfway mark. So there is no need for sound. Go through and look at it- it's the exact same thing
