- Tool - New Song Descending Live.
Will this be the same version Tool will play in 2017?
Recorded by specialK. This recent version doesn't feature anything from Maynard James Keenan at the beginning. Hasn't ever been uploaded. The video sources are from several 2016 concerts.

wake me up when the new tool album comes out...even if it takes another 10 years
Daniel Underwood Sleep well
As far as things are going with the new album, you might not even wake up. You'll be pretty much dead the whole time lol
Hahaha
IF a new album actually does wind up coming out I seriously think they will just release it and not even give a date for it. It will just be finished and then released one day. That would be the most "Tool" way to do things these days.
DuckTalesWooHoo1987 yeah, Radiohead style...I've been thinking that for years
Tool's changing perception in my mind from being a great band churning out excellent music to a 'natural phenomenon' occurring on its own accord has elevated me.
I hope that, if this is on the album, it's under a different name instead of A/Descending, so that people won't know when it's coming. I can only speak personally but I can't even imagine the insane chills I'd get if I heard this in the middle of a song without expecting it to be there. Hype is real bois.
Awesome idea. I hope they'll do it
I second this
40,000 days
nice profile pic btw
Looks like we're all brothers.
it's three minutes, I don't believe it's a tool song
They aren't through with the intro in three minutes usually
It's a prototype. Adam has said before that this is just "a small part of one of our longer songs that we're looking at"
it will be just a short part in a new song :3
i wish
This is like a preview of new material. It's not the actual song.
No wonder the world has seemingly gotten more out-of-hand; a new Tool album is needed.
Didn't age well
feels like something is going to happen
The day they play this live then Maynard lays vocals down for the first time will be a big moment for tool fans. Probably how I would announce the album
Thats that fkin les paul sound I wanna hear!! AHHHH give me the album already im dying here :(
zounafin im dying too 😂😂😂
What most people don't know is there last album 10000 days was actually them telling you how long is gonna be till there next album.
10000 = 27000 years. That album came out 2006 so there next album would most likely come out in 2033
TIL: there are twenty seven thousand years between 2006 and 2033.
James Kleffel yes
10,000 days is around 27-29 years
27.37850787132101 years.
I like music.
JestersGeneration Well, you’ve come to the right place
I love it. I love where tool takes me, in all of its shapes and forms. My life is enriched by the music of Tool, a compilation of which in its absence would leave a vacuous space, unfillable.
5 years ago...awesome...
This is like a "teaser" of a new, finished song. Proof: Adam Jones - "We took the song that is finished, it’s called ‘Descending,’ and we just took the most obscure bits and put it together to give a little taste of what’s coming.”
Jones said that the band has been incorporating several bits and pieces of new material into its live sets via a series of jams.

The sound of Adam's guitar is sublime.
That...was really cool! ^^
I wish it had been longer though. I was really getting into it and all. So atmospheric and amazing!
You got your wish lol
The music is only getting better and better. Can’t wait for the new album
*Logs off Pornhub* This should be good.
I just pee'd a little reading this lmao
It's sexier when it's called squirting....
I pee'd from laughing ;) I didn't see Maynard so no squirting :/
LOL....I'm glad you have a good sense of humor. People now days are so touchy about everything that you hardly want to joke around anymore. Keep on keepin' on
So Anthony Weiner walks into an all girls middle school....oh shit, my bad Takedo....
Adam said this is a short "Trailer" from one of their new longer tracks.
--Adam Jones VIP Q&A 2015/2016
Tool is by far my favorite band, I continue to listen to their music to this day. Sad to say I have actually lost all hope in the fact that a new album is even a possibility at this point. I am sure anyone who is reading this post and or listening to this tease you have heard of the “holy gift”. Just in case you have not, check it out. It has gotten me through the last 4 years of their absence.
Seeing them in two weeks, cannot fucking wait
Adam did mention each song on this album would be about 15 minutes long.
@Kay Theo No! It sounds like it wants to be 10,000 days. I tried to like it but I don't take acid or do drugs so I listen to Tool sober (lol) sorry.
I have to admit as ive gotten older I grow more impatient waiting for new tool albums but its just how they do the process
saw this twice in January 9/10 In San Diego...awesome shows.
never clicked harder on a video
Doesn't matter its intention, purpose or length...its beautiful
HOOOLLY SHITT!! This song is gonna be epic! As a long time TOOL fan, this is just the very beginning of a soul tapping experience. However it is borderline torcher for how long its taken for this album to come out. Seriously though.. you guys fucking rock!!!!
chills down my spine
I pray we will hear some new material on May 24th.
After listening again...... Seeing tool live multiples and being a fan since opiate at 8 years old brought up a drummer by a drummer. I play multiple instruments, had an affinity for all prog rock my whole life. Rock, metal period. Speaks and tugs at my soul since I was a young boy. Les Paul in hand, DW in front of me zildgans around me. If for a second you think that tool has lost the groove you're wrong. Dead wrong. We all shall see.
man i hope this is the new shit
Mike Maza It is.
hopefully they play the full song this tour in 2017
DrSterlingSimmons You going to one of their shows?
This music is absolutely awesome.
They played this at Glen Helen recently. I'll wait years for a new album, TOOL is worth the wait.
I think it was Adam during a Q&A who said this song is musically near completion and that the point where they end it live actually leads into a climax (giggity), and that it's very difficult for them not to go into it due to their excitement...
I CAN WAIT, I KNOW IT WILL BE WORTH
Just seen them Wednesday in Michigan they played this it was a good 6 to 8 minute song amazing
Hopefully someone sees this comment. The visuals of this song are changing, I've watched nearly every performance of it that is on youtube and just got home from their show in Pittsburgh. The first time I saw it it was very plain but in a way it's almost growing, perhaps it could have something to do with a reveal. It doesn't make much sense to me to change it at least once a month if there wasn't something bigger behind it.
The older version with the cool distorted clapping sample was way better than randomly hitting cymbals.
I was really getting into this XD
Hell keep up the good work guys and keep on kicking ass hell when the New Album is released or when ever it gets released it will definitely be awesome Tool is definitely by far the best band Tool 2018 and beyond 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
the start of this composition derives from the song "right in two" they have played it many times live. Then it starts to spiral out as it is Tools DNA.
Lateralus junior.
hypotrochoid ... they couldn't spiral out further, it was spirographical, once more around
they spiraled out, now they are 'descending' back to the centre, just like the universe; expands, collapses and starts again.
I think Adam hit a few wrong notes, but everyone messes up, this is one of the coolest progressions I've ever heard, it's like a darker lateralus, like there making an amalgamation of 10,000 days and lateralus, epic.
feels like this song is actually decending from another one
Wtf, that comment is prophetic af 😅
Life is immeasurably better because TOOL
they are actually extradimensional beings.
I hope they release this soon. sounds like a good song
its out there
Love this channel
NEW SONG? NEW SONG! NEW SOOOOONG!!!!
This song has about 2 years, it was first played in 2015 as I remember.
Free fall through our midnight
Thanks mum!
Better than album version
This is just a part of their large song of 25 min+
The sound quality is orgasmic
*****PEOPLE IT'S A SAMPLE OF A SONG NOT THE FULL SONG*****
OMG that’s so fucking awesome!
I guess we would have to wait for 10.000 days for the next album. 11 years to go...
This sounds fucking awesome ! ! Can't wait the new tool album. ... :,(
I think people need to stop making stupid comments and just wait.
Ykno..."be patient". Be grateful for what you have. Or go make your own music. Just don't be a bitch.
i think that this sounds like a beginning of a song like they did with Wings for Marie pt 1 and 2, but if this is a beginning of a song it sounds pretty sick.
this is missing the awesome reverb clap sample
search results reflect • New Tool song 2017 • New Tool song 2016 ... Be patient... wait it out.. waiting like a stalking butler.. and so on.
That was fucking amazing
exciting
Amazing minimalism trance doom psy metal 🤟🏻 Tool we wait new album!!!
sounds good playing in the background of lateralus (track) syncs good pitches and rythm
are they trying some kind of binaural beats thingy
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shepard_tone
one day we shall be blessed with another tool album at least before the apacalypse
I think what Jon here meant is the 'alpacalypse', an obscure biblical end of days type deal with fucked off alpacas.
I honestly don't know why ppl refer to this piece as "new song"
guys they played this back in 2014
I like this version better than their official release of it.
Why so? I like this version, but the studio version is a top 3 tool song for me personally
@@hank35682 I guess I just don't like the additional part added in the official song which would be around here 2:55. In the official song it's at the 11:00 mark.
Don't get me wrong, both version of this particular part of the song are great I just prefer this one a bit more (minus the off note here 2:30 lol).
fuck they never settle for anything else than cream of the crop riffs.
When you can hear a few instruments melding together to form that sound, so familiar.... TOOL IN 2018?!
awesome
Some people say that their next will come in 10,000 days, I believe that they are taking so long because they are writing 10,000 songs
Alonso Salcedo a song a day would be...ugh.......*shudders*
I was at this show, purely phenomenal. Do you guys have a plan to upload the entire show like you've done with the others?
Not busting your balls but this wasn't in Little Rock. Adam was in a costume at the Little Rock show. 9th row center.
I was really hoping for something different from them. This just sounds like the last couple albums.
BLARE!!! stew No, it totally doesn’t
Holy shit Adam how many times do you have to fuck up?
This is an intermission
Dude Maynard ROCKED it on this! LOL!
DuckTalesWooHoo1987 haha funny
haha funny
Issnt this just an interlude to give the drummer a breather?
I PRETEND THIS NEW ALBUM
This is just a tease. not a whole song. They wanna show us that it isn`t a too long Time for the new album. If that makes sense
it sounds like a combination of 2 or 3 different Tool song intros from their last album. how long ago was that? lol
Last 30 seconds sounds like The Grudge.
Just release the new album already, please.
That bass...that bass in the middle of the song (Pink Floyd - One of These Days alike) is completely missing from previous versions, it was awesome and gave more meaning to the song which sounds quite empty now, in this version. Also I miss much Keenan vocals in the beginning.
Sounds too familiar in the intro to be a "new" track. Derivative of a 10,000 Days song. Probably a filler piece between tracks???
Uno Dos I think the guitar tone is much more interesting to listen to than anything on 10K Days. Also, the clean riff at the end is fucking awesome I think. And the drop D power chords add a nice ambience to the track. But yeah, the minor scale diddling at the beginning is Tool by the numbers. I still like it tho.
Fucking otherworldly
there's nothing new here. this is what tool does in every show. I'm headed, next month, with my wife to go see what's in the show. even if it's all old, ... we're happy.
Aaaaaand no Maynard :(
I liked it after the music went on.
no new album this year, as keenan said. like i see in the comments - a lot of us see this as "filler", or like demos that never made it into the older album. we think that there's some new thing that tool made this last decade, and it must be something we have never heard before.
maybe, the band knew the limit was 10,000 days, and from there they will just worsen with each album or stay the same and bore us.
maybe the wanted to be remembered as one of the best with those albums, instead of adding a new album that would make them seem less of what they are.
Vasari O I'm sure they can come out with a great album if they put time and effort into it
never said they can't,
i just don't think they want just another great album, but to make something more
this probably the thickest version of them all
Why new ? This is modified Lateralus
can I play for you guys yet?
this just sounds like the intro to lataralus only slightly re worked....
tool fans... your evolution is right here bro www.nibirunon.bandcamp.com dont say you were not warned, its patchy right now but its growing
Sound like it could be a intro to a new song.
my nigga
sounds like a filler between songs, so there's no empty silence in the set. Just a couple fellas jammin
