Yesterday they played in Austin my dad surprised me and took me to the concert it was so cool! I agree. I think Maynard obviously chooses to work with other musicians he thinks are awesome. As such they create awesome music that Maynard sings over. Its a perfect storm of freaking awesome musicians and a great singer. He's like the taco shell, billy is the meat, and the drummer and bassist(im drunk or id know their names) are the cheese and the sour cream.
Can we stop talking about Tool? This isn't Tool, it's another band. With 4 members who aren't in Tool. This isn't 'filler' music until Tool release another album, it's a song - same as any other Tool or Puscifer or Britney Spears song - that was made to be listened to under its own merits. It seems like every month some new technological development is made or some new gadget comes out, but we haven't made any significant moral developments since maybe the Bible and the disparity could do us in if we don't wise up. Dr. Peterson has made that aim his life's work and I recommend his videos to anyone who hasn't heard of him yet.

Disagree, even animals can treat the earth better than humans.. What we have is this humanistic intelligence in this "me" generation becoming cold to the reality of a disconnected life from all that is real. And that's exactly what the song is portraying.

I agree. I think Maynard obviously chooses to work with other musicians he thinks are awesome. As such they create awesome music that Maynard sings over. Its a perfect storm of freaking awesome musicians and a great singer. He's like the taco shell, billy is the meat, and the drummer and bassist(im drunk or id know their names) are the cheese and the sour cream.
Can we stop talking about Tool? This isn't Tool, it's another band. With 4 members who aren't in Tool. This isn't 'filler' music until Tool release another album, it's a song - same as any other Tool or Puscifer or Britney Spears song - that was made to be listened to under its own merits. And it's beautiful.

The lyrics to this song instantly reminded me of the Peterson quote. It seems like every month some new technological development is made or some new gadget comes out, but we haven't made any significant moral developments since maybe the Bible and the disparity could do us in if we don't wise up. Dr. Peterson has made that aim his life's work and I recommend his videos to anyone who hasn't heard of him yet.
I have no clue how the first thing that came to your mind after listening to this song was a pseudo-intellectual propagandist, but hey, I'm sure seeing Peterson argue with college kids about pronouns and how they destroy freedom of speech was the most virtuous thing you've ever witnessed in your life.

I'm actually very curious as to who you consider to be a real intellectual, because you call Peterson a pseudo-intellectual despite the fact that he has over 8,000 citations among reputable scientific publications, he's been a tenured professor for over 20 years, and his lab has produced psychology models that are accepted and used by the science community (hence the citations). His work covers an enormous plethora of issues, (mostly centered around the notion of taking responsibility for oneself) and the pronoun issue (which is not the reason I follow him, as you suggested) is only of import because it was the launch point for his career as a public figure.
